Another spectacular week of
games and another plethora of injuries to deal with.
Man NFL football is a tough game. One week RB’s
next week it’s QB’s so I am sure all
of you have at least minor adjustments to make.
Major adjustment, the Dolphins host the Chiefs on
Friday at 7PM ET to avoid the hurricane. Make sure
your lineups are set early boys and I hit the previews
next.

NEWS *** Week 7 Game Change

Chiefs-Dolphins game rescheduled
Due to the threat of Hurricane Wilma,
the game between the Chiefs and Dolphins
in Miami has been moved to Friday,
Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. ET.
Kansas City:
A win is a win but am I the only one disturbed
by the fact the Chiefs can’t find
their best receiver. Impressive win against
a very tough Washington team and faith in
the Priest and LJ will pay off for 225 total
yards and 2TD’s between them. I am
not sure Gonzo is a part of KC’s gameplan
anymore so I am reserving him and expect
a bigger game from Kennison 6/85 and a TD.
The Chief defense stepped up last week on
Portis and containing Williams/Brown will
be a focus Friday night. Expect a lot of
QB pressure from the Chiefs to disrupt Frerotte’s
rhythm.
Miami: Well
the Miami RB tandem should be fresh after
less than 20 carries between them last week
so a short week shouldn’t hurt Miami’s
run game. Look for Williams to get more
touches going for 70 total yards and his
first score while Brown could tally 100
total yards and a score. Chambers will have
a good day and grab 9/115 while McMichael
gets 60 and a TD. Defense will have to suck
it up as DE Taylor may be out and that hurts
the Miami D, especially the pass rush. Expect
Miami to stuff the box to stop the KC rush
game and play tough man-to-man on the outside.
Pittsburgh:
Big Ben is back behind center but if the Steelers
run like last week it won’t matter who
plays QB for this team. Expect a re-commitment
to the run and a big day for Bettis and Parker
who should roll up 200+2TDs between them.
Hines Ward and other WR may not play leaving
Quincy Morgan as a starter, not good. Miller
could have a good day because of it 5/65.
Defense in Steeltown will have their hands
full and will try to get to Palmer to disrupt
the explosive Cincy pass offense and Rudi.
Cincinnati:
This game will hinge on Palmer’s ability
to get the ball downfield early to slow down
a Pitt pass rush. Johnson may be able to take
advantage of the aggressive LB’s and
have a decent day rushing for 80 yards. Chad
should break out a new TD dance or 2 as he
burns DB’s for 10/140 and watch for
Housh to have a great game 8/100 as well.
Perry could be an X-factor out of the backfield
catching passes. Defense will test Big Bens
knee and ability to scramble if the Steelers
pass. Cinci will need to shore up the run
immensely or see a heavy dose of Bettis Parker
Redskins:
Portis will see his carries this week and
should exploit the SF defense outside for
100+ and his first 2 TD’s on the season.
Brunell will try to find the explosive Moss
deep and will have moderate success 7/105
but no score as SF plays 2 deep. Cooley will
have a good game and may have 9 receptions
this week for moderate yardage and a TD. Defense
will force young Smith into turnovers with
pressure if they can stuff Barlow and should
dominate the young SF offense so start ‘em
if you got ‘em. Blowout is a definite
possibility unless the ‘Skins get cocky.
49ers: Smith
gets his second excellent defense in his second
start. Bad timing but he has shown some evasiveness
and will every bit of it to find Lloyd deep.
Lloyd is the go-to guy and should have 100
yards and a score. Barlow must play his best
game to protect his young QB from the pass
rush and should roll for 80 yards and a short
score. SF’s defense has played very
well and could force Brunell to turn the ball
over with a solid pass rush. Expect them to
play 2 deep zone so they don’t get burned
deep and give up a lot of yards rushing.
Baltimore:
This team has a brutal offense. Wright is
not getting it done. Lewis is not helping
by playing tentatively and teams are stacking
the box against him. Taylor may make a few
big runs but totals no more than 80 yards.
Heap can be counted on for 80 and a score,
if the OFF scores at all. The defense has
played better but must stop Jones rushing.
If they do they should have a field day against
rookie QB and is a good play this week with
turnovers and a possible TD.
Chicago: Orton
has a tough test this week but he has looked
poised and may find Muhammed for 80 yards
and a TD. Jones has been the best part of
Chicago’s offense and could have a decent
day even against a stout Ravens D. Defense
is a must start against an anemic Ravens offense
and could score a TD forcing an errant throw
from Wright. Chicago like all teams will stuff
the box and make running for Lewis and Taylor
difficult while pressuring Wright into mistakes.
Broncos: 5-1
and impressive wins against solid opponents
have Denver fans expectations mile high. Jake
has been efficient so far but a big game this
week with a long TD to Lelie, 7/115 and several
key plays to Smith agaist the Gmen. Anderson
and Bell tandem will find Giants run D tough
but will total 160 yards and score once between
them. Denver’s solid defense will stuff
Barber rushing and pressure Eli but may give
up yards in the pass game.
Giants: A
tough loss last week but Eli and the Gmen
will look to bounce back at home this week.
Barber will find rush lanes small but may
explode in the pass game finally and total
100 yards. Burress has a good match-up and
should exploit his size advantage for 7/105
and a TD while Shockey rips the D for another
100 yard game. Toomer should see the ball
when Denver doubles Plax. Defense will have
to stuff the run and be wary of the Broncos
exceptional play action passes or this game
could get away and leave them at .500 on the
season.
Dallas: Big
D heads to the west coast for their fourth
time this season. Julius Jones is still a
question mark so if he sits Bledsoe should
have a big day, 300+3TD’s. Glenn could
get deep on a couple long passes for 7/125
and Price could also be a factor deep and
score. Witten has been a great target especially
on third downs so he goes for 8/100 and he
or Keyshawn score short. Defense is coming
around and is playing well but will be tested
against Alexander. The Cowboys will get some
sacks and maybe force a few turnovers but
have to protect against the big play.
Seattle: ‘Hawks
are rolling on the wheels of Alexander. The
stud RB is facing maybe his stiffest test
this week but should still tally 100 total
yards and a TD. Matt will find his receivers
short but Stevens could have a big game in
the middle of the field for 7/85 and a TD.
Joe could grab a short TD pass and Warrick
could make a big play or two. Defense has
played much better lately and will try and
pressure Bledsoe into turnovers on a suspect
blind side. Expect a few turnovers as a result
but Seattle must guard against the big play
with new starting safety Manuel
Tennessee:
Missing top WR Bennett will hurt McNair/Volek
but rookie Jones will start and have a 100
yard game and could score on a deep ball.
Titans will focus on the run against the Cards
to keep the pass rush off McNair and Brown
should have 100 yards and a TD. Calico will
have 75 yards to move the chains but Troupe
is the red zone threat and should score. Defense
is young and disciplined but will have their
hands full against the dynamic WR duo, expect
a shoot-out
Cardinals:
Green is playing mystery QB but McCown has
done well his past 2 games and TEN pass rush
favors him over a hobbled Warner. Either QB
should be able to find 8-10 receptions for
Boldin and Fitzgerald who have 100+ yards
and a TD each. Shipp will run effectively
and Arrington could be a pass threat coming
out of the bye week. Defense will have to
pressure McNair and do a much better job against
the run if they want to be competitive this
season.
