NFL Week 16 Fantasy Football
Tips
This is our waiver wire pick-ups column. The
WagerOnFootball.com staff will scour the free
agent pools in fantasy land for the best available
talent every week. Availability, of course,
depends on the league. We’re using 12
team, 16 roster spot leagues as the median,
but we’ll look for roster candidates for
leagues of all shapes and sizes. Grab the following
before NFL Week 16.

WEEK 16 FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE |
1. Tim Rattay
|
Waiver
Wire - QUARTERBACKS
Tampa Bay
Coach Jon Gruden named QB Tim Rattay the
starter for Week 16 against Cleveland.
Rattay replaced rookie Bruce Gradkowski
on Sunday against Chicago and threw for
268 yards and three fourth-quarter touchdowns.
Rattay could be worth adding for Week
16 against Cleveland as a sleeper. |
|
Waiver
Wire - QB'S
Buffalo QB J.P. Losman was 13-of-19
passing for three touchdowns and no interceptions
against Miami. He also had two carries
for 11 yards and lost a fumble. Consider
Losman a No. 2 QB for Week 16 against
Tennessee.
|
|
Waiver
Wire - RUNNING BACKS
Texans RB Ron Dayne had 18 carries for
94 yards and a touchdown (1-yard run)
in a Week 15 loss to the Patriots. Dayne
has now been the guy to carry the load
the past three weeks for the Texans. He
has more than 85 yards in all three games
and has three touchdowns. |
|
Waiver
Wire - RB's
Turner the Burner is not a recommended
Fantasy play unless LaDainian Tomlinson
suffers a long-term injury. The Chargers
play at Seattle in Week 16. Michael Turner
carried seven times for 58 yards in Week
15 against Kansas City. |
3. Mike Alstott |
Waiver
Wire - RB's
Bucs RB Mike Alstott had six carries
for 26 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown
run. Despite the score, Alstott is not
a recommended Fantasy option for 16 at
Cleveland. |
4. Kevin Faulk |
Waiver
Wire - RB's
Patriots RB Kevin Faulk had four carries
for 22 yards and a touchdown (11-yard
run) in a Week 15 win over the Texans.
He also had two catches for 46 yards and
a touchdown. Despite the two touchdowns,
Faulk is not a recommended Fantasy option
for Week 16 at Jacksonville. |
|
Waiver
Wire - RB's
Vikings RB Mewelde Moore had five catches
for 53 yards and a touchdown against the
Jets. Moore is the third-down back for the
Vikings, so his Fantasy value is minimal. |
|
Waiver
Wire - RB's
This week at St. Louis, consider Betts a
low-end No. 1 Fantasy RB as the Rams run
defense has been porous over the last three
months. |
|
Waiver
Wire - WIDE RECEIVERS
Jurevicius is another Browns receiver benefiting
from the solid play of QB Derek Anderson.
Consider him a No. 3 or No. 4 Fantasy WR
for Week 16 vs. Tampa Bay. |
|
Waiver
Wire - WR's
Ronald Curry started in Week 15 against
the Rams in place of the injured Randy Moss
(ankle) and he finished with nine receptions
for 87 yards. He has 17 receptions for 186
yards and a touchdown in the past two games. |
|
Waiver
Wire - WR's
Hackett has 191 receiving yards and a
touchdown over the past two games. He
is a decent No. 3 or 4 Fantasy receiver
or 'flex' option for Week 16 against the
Chargers
|
1. Vernon Davis
|
Waiver
Wire - TIGHT ENDS
Davis had three catches for just 15 yards
in Week 15 at Seattle, but he was able
to score a touchdown in the surprising
24-14 win. Davis is a decent play in most
Fantasy leagues for Week 16 against Arizona.
|
1. Bills Defense/ST |
Waiver
Wire - DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS
The Bills DST shutout the Dolphins 21-0
with one sack and two interceptions.
Consider the Bills DST a low-end No.
1 option for Week 16 against Tennessee
and use all regular IDP players as needed.
