Fantasy Football Waiver Wire - Week 7
(Following Week 6's NFL Games)
This is our waiver wire pick-ups
column. The WagerOnFootball.com staff will scour
the free agent pools in fantasy land for the best
available talent every week. Availability, of course,
depends on the league. We’re using 12 team,
15 roster spot leagues as the median, but we’ll
look for roster candidates for leagues of all shapes
and sizes. Grab the following before NFL Week 7.

WEEK
7 NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE
Chris Simms
Waiver
Wire - QUARTERBACKS
Griese severely
injured his knee in Sunday's game; there's
no firm word yet, but Griese may miss the
rest of the season as a result. Gruden has
always spoken highly in general terms of Simms'
athleticism and potential, but he had rarely
spoken highly of Simms' ability to actually
play quarterback in the NFL until after Sunday's
game
Steve McNair
If he's available in your league I'd say
grab him. Despite a rag-tag supporting cast,
McNair quietly has been one of the league's
more efficient, productive and steady quarterbacks--all
while avoiding injury.
Kelly Holcomb
Holcomb has won both his starts with the
Bills, and was an efficient 18 for 26 with
two touchdowns and two interceptions Sunday.
Thanks for allowing us to get some sleep this
week, Mike Mularkey.
Chester Taylor
Waiver
Wire - RUNNING BACKS
Taylor is coming off of his best game of
the year, having rushed for 46 yards and caught
four passes for 24 yards against the Lions.
Since Taylor is a talented receiver out of
the backfield, he should see increased playing
time as Baltimore reemphasizes the run.
Michael Turner
Turner ran for a season-high 50 yards in
Sunday's game at Oakland, and he has run well
this season when giving LaDainian Tomlinson
a breather. He would be a serviceable option
if Tomlinson ever missed any time with an
injury.
Greg Jones
Jones rushed for 77 yards and a touchdown
on 18 carries replacing injured starter Fred
Taylor (ankle) in the Jaguars' overtime win
against the Steelers. Jones shared the backfield
with rookie running back Alvin Pearman on
the day, but his power running style seemed
better suited for pounding away
Doug Gabriel
Waiver Wire - WIDE RECEIVERS
Gabriel caught five passes for 84 yards
in Sunday's loss against the Chargers. With
Randy Moss out of the game with a groin injury,
Gabriel was able to make an immediate impact.
Michael Clayton
Grab him and stash him if he's out there
on your waiver wires this week. With Griese
falling out perhaps for the season in steps
Clayton who his Simms favorite receiver, more
so than Galloway. Add a healthy Cadillac to
get the coverage thinking run again, and a
bye week for Clayton to rest his shoulder
he should come back guns ablazing for the
second half of the season.
Lee Evans
Both of Holcomb's interceptions came on passes
intended for Evans, who has not had more than
three receptions in any game this season, and
he had just three catches for 22 yards in Sunday's
27-17 victory over the Jets. But I'm saying
add him. We're seeing a re-emergence of Buffalo's
air attack with Holcomb taking snaps. If Moulds
draws the doubleteams like he should Evans should
have some good weeks ahead.

NFL
FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE
Ben Watson
Waiver
Wire - TIGHT ENDS
Grab him and stash him, for a bye week filler.
Opportunities should be there for this soon-to-be
stud. Watson is a dynamic pass-catching weapon,
and the NFL safeties that cover him not getting
a great matchup on this one.
Lions DST
Waiver
Wire - DST's
Trust me on this one. They are 6th in fantasy
points for defense and are still around in
a lot of leagues. So Grab them now. They play
Cleveland this week. Enough said?
Jay Feely
Waiver
Wire - Kickers
Feely kicked two field goals Sunday, a 50-yarder
in the first quarter and a 45-yarder in the
second. He has kicked 10 field goals without
a miss this season. He's been a nice surprise
this year in an improved Giants' offense.
