Fantasy Football Waiver Wire - Week 10
(Following Week 10's NFL Games)
This is our waiver wire pick-ups
column. The WagerOnFootball.com staff will scour
the free agent pools in fantasy land for the best
available talent every week. Availability, of course,
depends on the league. We’re using 12 team,
15 roster spot leagues as the median, but we’ll
look for roster candidates for leagues of all shapes
and sizes. Grab the following before NFL Week 11.

FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE
Chris Simms
Waiver
Wire - QUARTERBACKS
Behind Simms'
big day against Washington on Sunday (15-for-29,
279 yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions),
the Buccaneers averaged a whopping 9.6 yards
per pass attempt against the Redskins, and
Simms completed nine passes for fifteen yards
or more. It was also a major milestone for
the Buccaneers as a team, as they won for
the first time without Brian Griese
Joey Harrington
Although Harrington had a great game Sunday,
coach Steve Mariucci will not commit to a
starter until later in the week, the Detroit
Free Press reports."It was a good performance,"
Mariucci said of Harrington on Sunday. "And
so we're obviously going to take that into
consideration. But we're also going to take
into consideration Jeff's health."
Greg Jones
Waiver
Wire - RUNNING BACKS
We're leaving both Jones and Gato up here
for one more week in case you didn't grab
them last week when we told you to. Jones
did an admirable job filling in for injured
starter Fred Taylor (ankle) on Sunday, rushing
for a career-high 106 yards and a touchdown
on 25 carries in the Jaguars' win over the
Ravens. Not bad versus the Ravens' defense.
Sam Gato
Gado will remain as the starting RB, even
if Tony Fisher is able to return from a rib
injury, according to the Milwaukee Journal
Sentinel. Gado had a big game against the
Falcons and in his next game against the Vikings,
who have a poor rush defense. Happy Birthday
Sam - 3 Touchdowns isn't a bad present.
Adrian Peterson
Taking over for Cedric Benson after he left
Sunday's game with a knee sprain, Peterson
had 24 carries for 120 yards and a touchdown
in a win over the 49ers. This was a great
effort for Peterson, who proved he can carry
the load if the Bears need him to. With Thomas
Jones nursing bruised ribs and Benson's status
uncertain, Peterson definitely is worth a
look if he's available in your league.
Heath Evans
Replacing an injured Corey Dillon, fullback
Heath Evans had 17 carries for 84 yards and
three catches for 18 yards at Miami in Week
10. Before you run out and add Evans to your
roster, keep in mind that Evans may have been
a one-week replacement for Dillon. Owners
should only add Evans if they have the roster
room since it's entirely possible that he
won't rush for 84 yards over the rest of the
NFL season.

- WIDE RECEIVERS
Replacing an injured Corey Dillon, fullback
Heath Evans had 17 carries for 84 yards and
three catches for 18 yards at Miami in Week
10. Before you run out and add Evans to your
roster, keep in mind that Evans may have been
a one-week replacement for Dillon. Owners should
only add Evans if they have the roster room
since it's entirely possible that he won't rush
for 84 yards over the rest of the NFL season.
Lee Evans
Evans had a big fantasy game Sunday with
three catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns
in Buffalo's 14-3 win over Kansas City. Perhaps
the bigger long-term news was that he seemed
to have a nice rapport with J.P. Losman, as
that combination is supposed to be the future
in Buffalo. For the present, you have to be
careful with any side of the Buffalo passing
game because it's so inconsistent.
Matt Jones
Jones enjoyed a break-out game against the Ravens
on Sunday, hauling in five catches for 117 yards
and a touchdown in the Jaguars' win. He also
added two carries for 12 yards. Jones reached
the end-zone for the third straight week and
is finally beginning to blossom into the receiver
the Jags envisioned when they selected him with
the 21st pick in last years' draft.
Koren Robinson
Robinson's 86-yard kickoff return for a TD on
Sunday points to a possible breakthrough game
on offense soon. Robinson has clearly paid his
dues with the Vikings on special teams. He has
been returning kicks since Week 3, and ranks
fourth in the NFL with 26.3 yards per return
and has totaled 763 yards. Robinson is showing
he is ready to make significant contributions
to the team

FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE
Ben Watson
Waiver
Wire - TIGHT ENDS
Patriots TE Ben Watson caught three passes
for 37 yards, but two of them were for touchdowns
at Miami in Week 10. Watson is just a bit
too unreliable to use on a regular basis,
but these are the kind of games we've been
waiting to see from him.
Donald Lee
Minnesota’s
struggles against tight ends have been highly
visible to most fantasy owners this season,
but they’re worth repeating. The Vikings
have given up 19 touchdowns to tight ends
in their last 18 games. The beefy TE production
allowed by the Norsemen makes Green Bay’s
Donald Lee a sneaky play this week on Monday
night.
Seahawks DST
Waiver
Wire - DST's
I'm picking the Hawks up in both my leagues
this week, and will start them ahead of the
Colts in one, and the Ravens/Falcons in the
other. Great one week pick up vs the hapless
49ers. Over the last four games, they’ve
held opponents to an average of just 13.75
points per game. I expect them to hold the
49ers under that average.
