This is our waiver wire pick-ups
column. The WagerOnFootball.com staff will scour
the free agent pools in fantasy land for the best
available talent every week. Availability, of course,
depends on the league. We’re using 12 team,
15 roster spot leagues as the median, but we’ll
look for roster candidates for leagues of all shapes
and sizes. Grab the following before week two.

FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE
Anthony Wright
Waiver
Wire - QUARTERBACKS
Boller is out
for next week and Anthony Wright has a much
livelier arm. Remember that game versus the
Seahawks 2 years ago???? They seem to let
this kid just wing it all over the place.
If he gets in there and has a couple of big
games...who knows. He's got Mason/Moore/Heap
to throw to, so the weapons are there.
Drew Bledsoe
Bledsoe the human statue actually looked
good at QB last week. If you're really hurting
at QB or need a bye week filler, Drew won't
be bad. Julius Jones keeps defenses honest
and Drew has a group of serviceable WR's.
You could do much worse. Like being stuck
with Ramsey or Boller.
Gus Frerotte
Gus looks like he could be the Dolphins savior.
The guy can play, and most of you need to
pick him up as a reserve. He'll be ok in a
bye week. He's never been horrible, and he's
got Chris Chambers to throw to. He's either
going to have a good year or Denver's secondary
is going to get shredded like cheese.
Willie Parker
Waiver
Wire - RUNNING BACKS
Willie Parker, Willie Parker, Willie Parker,
if you did not draft this kid, get him yesterday
ok? If for some odd reason he's still on your
wire, do whatever you have to and add him
to your roster. He blew up for over 200 total
yards Sunday and he's here to stay. He's that
gem you can pluck off the wire and laugh at
your league members about all year long.
Brandon Jacobs
Talk about coming from out of nowhere. This
kid actually is better than Ron Dayne. LOL
- Seriously though, he's getting the goal
line love in NY which hurts Tiki but makes
this guy a viable td-only option. He's the
future in NY if they can keep him so dynasty
players take notice.
Matt Jones
Waiver
Wire - WIDEOUTS
This guy is just fun to watch. He's a physical
freak...6'6" with a 4.3 forty and some
outrageous hands. He's a college QB so Jax
has him throwing, running and catching. He
can do it all.
Antoine Randle El
Remember that fast punt returner for the
Steelers all those years? Well Burress is
gone and now Randle El is the #2 in Steeltown.
He hauled in a deep bomb score Sunday and
there will be some more of those this season.
He's quick and has silly open field moves.
Looks like Pitt may actually pass more this
year too.
Robert Ferguson
Javon Walker is gone for the year with a
torn ACL so Ferguson is now the #2 WR. Green
Bay's offense looks pretty pathetic if they
can't even light up D-town, so this year Favre
could be the gun slinger we remember and have
to throw a ton and Ferguson by default should
put up some solid numbers.
Arnaz Battle
He threw 2 passes and caught a bunch more.
He quietly has become the #1 WR on San Fran
and Tim Rattay looks his way all day. Not
a bad option to have since San Fran will have
to throw a ton. That Brandon Lloyd character
on the other side of the field will split
the D coverage so look for Battle to up decent
stats in a come from behind offense.

NFL
FANTASY FOOTBALL WAIVER WIRE
Marcus Pollard
Waiver
Wire - TIGHT ENDS
He was undrafted in one of my 8 team leagues,
so I"m throwing him up here. Harrington
is going to lean on Pollard all year long
in the red zone and that makes sense. I doubt
Pollard is on your wire, but if he is.
Alex Smith
I grabbed him last night, I suggest you look
to do the same today. He's the red zone option
for Griese now in Tampa. 2 touchdowns in his
first NFL game. Scoop him while you can because
another game like last week and he's gone.
Chris Baker
7 catches for 124 yards and a score will
get you picked up every week on most waiver
wires. It looks like Baker is the main tight
end in the attack up in New York so scoop
him up and hope this wasn't just a fluke.
