Fantasy Hot & Not - Following Week 6's NFL Games

FANTASY
FOOTBALL WHO'S HOT - AFTER WEEK 6 |
Chris Perry, RB CIN:
|
Week 7 Outlook: Pittsburgh's
defense is built to stop opposing runners
of all shapes, sizes and styles, but Perry
will have the advantage of entering the game
as a significant change of pace to starter
RB Rudi Johnson. And even if he doesn't make
much happen on the ground, Perry has become
an extremely valuable contributor as a receiver
|
Heath Miller, TE - PIT: |
WEEK 7 Outlook: Miller continues
to make strides in Pittsburgh's passing game,
and he could take a front-and-center role in it
this week. With all of the Steelers' top three
receivers nursing injuries and Cincinnati's safeties
vulnerable to play action, Miller could be very
involved this week. |
Steven Jackson, RB - ST.L: |
WEEK 7 Outlook: With coach Mike
Martz on sick leave, the Rams showed a greater
commitment to the run last week--a trend that
could become more pronounced against a New Orleans
team that isn't likely to explode for points the
way Indianapolis did. |
Az-Zahir Hakim, WR - NO: |
WEEK 7 Outlook: Hakim has taken
a lot of heat from us in the past, and deservedly
so. But he could get some payback this week, with
starters WRs Joe Horn and Donte' Stallworth suffering
from hamstring injuries that could sideline both.
Hakim has had 11 catches in the last two weeks.
|
Michael Vick, QB - ATL: |
WEEK 7 Outlook: Vick (knee) is
healthy for now. His crazy playing style opens
him up to big-time hits but against an undersized
Jets' front seven, Vick should put together several
long runs on route to a solid fantasy outing. |
Mark Brunell, QB - WAS: |
WEEK 7
Outlook: San Francisco has the worst
pass defense in the NFL and Brunell and Moss
should exploit it. San Francisco does not have
a DB that can keep up with Moss and expect big
plays from these two.

FOOTBALL WHO'S NOT HOT - FOLLOWING WEEK 6 |
Domanick Davis, RB - HOU:
|
WEEK 7 Outlook: Will have nowhere
to run vs. swarming Colts, and to boot he needs
more carries than he is getting (17.0 per game),
and he isn't likely to get them against Indianapolis.
Expect the Colts to take a big early lead and
force Houston to throw. |
Brandon Stokley, WR Colts:
|
WEEK 7 Outlook: Though Indianapolis
has shifted to more three-receiver sets than two-tight
end sets over time, the Colts are running RB Edgerrin
James more than ever and won't force the passing
game on opponents if they continue to bring in
nickelbacks and run six- and seven-man fronts. |
Tony Gonzalez, TE Chiefs:
|
WEEK 7 Outlook: Gonzalez has
been a fantasy disaster thus far but the matchup
against the Dolphins offers a glimmer of hope
for his owners. Miami will frequently defend Gonzalez
with a corner to negate some of his downfield
ability. That strategy may cut down on Gonzalez's
big plays but his size should give Miami's undersized
defenders fits |
Chris Chambers, WR –
MIA:
|
WEEK 7 Outlook: Even against
Kansas City's frequent zone looks, Chambers is
still likely to see frequent double coverages
and will not have the breakout game that his owners
are hoping for. By rolling a deep safety to Chambers'
side of the field, the Chiefs can effectively
stymie his big-play potential |
Jerry Porter, WR, OAK:
|
WEEK 7 Outlook: The likely absence
of Randy Moss (groin, ribs, pelvis) should boost
Porter's production. But no Moss also means that
the Bills can clamp shutdown corner Nate Clements
on Porter. |
Brian Westbrook, RB - PHI:
|
WEEK 7 Outlook:
Westbrook isn't getting many carries, and yards
won't be easy to come by against an excellent
San Diego run defense if his workload happens
to increase this week. The Eagles often use short
throws to Westbrook to supplement the run game,
and the Chargers will be vulnerable over the middle
if they are forced to play more zone. |
