FANTASY
FOOTBALL WHO'S HOT - AFTER WEEK 12
Brian Westbrook
RB - PHI:
Week 13 Outlook: With Philadelphia
headed toward a more run-heavy approach,
Westbrook is almost sure to have more days
like last week (season highs of 21 carries
and 117 yards, plus a TD). The Eagles will
have to be careful not to overwork the undersized
back
Joe Jurevicius, WR
- SEA:
Week 13 Outlook: Jurevicius
figures to draw a good amount of single coverage
against a blitz-happy Philadelphia defense,
and you can bet Seattle will work to get him
matched up with injured CB Lito Sheppard's replacement,
CB Roderick Hood.
David Akers K - PHI:
Week 13 Outlook: Philadelphia
will have more trouble moving the offense into
scoring position now that QB Donovan McNabb,
WR Terrell Owens, OT Tra Thomas and C Hank Fraley
all are out of the equation.
Todd Heap TE - BAL:
Week 13 Outlook: Todd Heap
is quietly having an excellent season. He has
52 catches and four touchdowns and seems to
be finding a rhythm with Kyle Boller of late.
Houston's safety play has been atrocious and
a player like Heap will find room throughout
the secondary.
Andre Johnson, WR
- HOU:
Week 13 Outlook: Despite an
awful first half of the season, Andre Johnson
has begun to assert himself more in Houston's
offense. He still only has one touchdown this
season, but the Texans are doing a much better
job of getting him the football.
Deion Branch, WR
- NE:
Week 13 Outlook: Branch is clearly
Tom Brady's go-to guy, regardless of down
or distance. Last week against the Chiefs,
Brady targeted Branch 12-times, by far the
most of any Patriots' receiver.
Trent Green, QB -
KC:
Week 13 Outlook: Denver matches up
well with Kansas City's weapons at most spots,
especially when CB Champ Bailey is able to
neutralize TE Tony Gonzalez one-on-one. But
few quarterbacks are as accurate as Green
or consistently find the open man when given
enough time.
Jake Plummer, QB
- DEN:
Week 13 Outlook: Plummer has been more
caretaker than playmaker this season, though
that could change against a Kansas City team
whose offense can score in bunches and whose
run defense seems to have toughened up considerably
since these teams last met in Week 3.
Torry Holt, WR -
ST.L:
Week 13 Outlook: Even with rookie
Ryan Fitzpatrick under center, Holt remains
a viable fantasy starter. Though he is likely
to struggle at times with the Redskins' aggressive
blitz packages and varied coverage looks,
Fitzpatrick should be able to successfully
target Holt
Jeremy Shockey TE
- NYG:
Week 13 Outlook: Shockey is one of
Eli Manning's most popular receiving targets-
Manning threw Shockey's way 16-times last week-
and should pose a major problem for Dallas'
defense.

FANTASY
FOOTBALL WHO'S NOT HOT - FOLLOWING WEEK 12
Jay Feely, K - NYG:
Week 13 Outlook: Is he even
on a roster after last week? It's hard to see
Feely getting many field goal tries thanks to
the Giants' dynamic offense. It isn't likely
that New York will be stopped in the red zone-
look elsewhere for a kicker.
Marion Barber,
RB - DAL:
Week 13 Outlook: Barber has
convinced Bill Parcells that he deserves carries,
even with Julius Jones back in the lineup. Though
Jones remains the number one back and will get
the bulk of the carries, Barber will be a factor
in the running game, including in the red zone.
Brett Favre, QB
- GB
Week 13 Outlook: Green Bay
will want to establish the run game to create
manageable down-and-distance situations, slow
Chicago's pass rush and set up play action--maybe
Favre's only chance against a voracious Bears
defense with a skeleton crew receiver corps.
BROWNS DST:
Week 13 Outlook: The Browns'
28th ranked run defense will struggle to slow
down Jacksonville's rushing attack. Regardless
of who is running the ball for the Jags, Cleveland
is simply out manned in their front seven.
Kevin Jones, RB
- DET
Week 13 Outlook: Jones (quadriceps)
remains questionable for the Vikings' game after
leaving Detroit's Thanksgiving Day game early.
Minnesota ranks in the top half of the NFL in
rushing defense and the Lion's lackluster passing
game should allow SS Darren Sharper to play
closer to the line as an extra linebacker.
Travis Taylor, WR
- MIN:
Week 13 Outlook: Taylor has been Brad
Johnson's most reliable target along the perimeter.
However, in Minnesota's conservative passing
game Johnson doesn't take many downfield chances
and Taylor's number suffer as a result.
Brandon Stokley, WR
- IND:
Week 13 Outlook: Stokley has been the
forgotten man in Indianapolis' offense this
season, and that isn't likely to change until
some Colts opponent discovers the elusive answer--assuming
there is one--to stopping the juggernaut offense.
Drew Bennett, WR -
TEN:
Week 13 Outlook: Bennett, who has only
adequate downfield speed, might disappoint his
owners unless Tennessee falls behind and gets
to work against softer coverages later in the
game.
Randy McMichael, TE
- MIA:
Week 13 Outlook: McMichael remains
a risky fantasy start because of the presence
of Gus Frerotte under center, especially in
a game in which Nick Saban is going to emphasize
the run.
JP Losman, QB - BUF:
Week 13 Outlook: Miami's front seven
does a great job of pressuring the quarterback-
the Dolphins are 5th in the NFL with 33-sacks-
and Losman will have difficulty sitting in the
pocket and waiting for his receivers to get
open.
SAINTS DST
Week 13 Outlook: The Saints' 29th-ranked
run defense is going to get a huge dose of RB
Cadillac Williams all afternoon. The rookie
running back looks like his old self, which
is dangerous.
Michael Clayton, WR
- TB:
Week 13 Outlook: Michael Clayton has
yet to catch a touchdown pass this season and
looks nothing like he did as a rookie. He is
a very tough player that looks as though he
has been playing injured all season long.
