Fantasy Football Week 2 Hot & Not
Team |
FANTASY
FOOTBALL WHO'S HOT |
Matt Hasselbeck - SEA QB
|
Hasselbeck (arm soreness) threw for 281 yards
and two touchdowns in Sunday's game against
Atlanta. Hasselbeck did not throw an interception
after committing four turnovers in week 1's
loss at Jacksonville. Enter an emerging Jeremy
Stevens, and an amazing O-Line = strong stats
for Hass in 05-06.
|
Trent Dilfer – CLE QB: |
We had him here last week, and we're keeping him
here this week, because we love this guy. Dilfer
has posted eye-popping stats over the season's
first two weeks, but he faced less-than-stellar
defenses and probably caught his opponents off
guard. Not Indianapolis. The Colts' speed and
cover 2 scheme will test Dilfer's ability to make
quick decisions and accurate throws to receivers
in a new scheme while under a hail of quarterback
pressure |
Brandon Jacobs - NYG RB: |
Jacobs had six carries for 39 yards and a touchdown
in Sunday's win against Arizona. Jacobs brings
a lot to the table so he will probably receive
5-10 carries each week. Because of Jacobs' size,
he will probably get most of the goal-line carries
too. |
Santana Moss – WAS WR: |
Moss caught five passes for 159 yards and two
touchdowns in Week 2. He scored on 39 and 70 yard
receptions in the fourth quarter. Both of his
touchdowns came with under four minutes left in
the game and led to a 14-13 Redskins victory.
Moss has game breaking speed and showed why
he is a threat every week for a big game. |
Indianapolis Colts Team Defense |
Indianapolis has arrived as a legitimate defense--and
not only in fantasy terms. The Colts' D still
is capable of sacks and turnovers, but it has
demonstrated that a big lead provided by the offense
isn't necessarily required. Indy's improved depth,
additional beef inside and better experience in
the secondary would be apparent against any opponent,
but it could lead to outrageous numbers at home
against a Browns offense still on training wheels. |

FANTASY
FOOTBALL WHO'S NOT HOT |
Washington Defense
|
A popular sleeper pick at the start of the season,
this unit has collapsed under the weight of the
impossible circumstances--too much time on the
field, too few playmaking chances--thrust upon
it by the Vikings' turnover-prone offense. |
Denver Running Backs –
DEN RB:
|
Anderson - Bell - Dayne (who
actually looks like he's the best fit are all
struggling to get going in the first 2 weeks.
With Bell and Mike Anderson (ribs) both nursing
injuries, the Broncos re-signed Quentin Griffin
to provide added depth at running back. Avoid
the Denver RBBC in week 3. |
Tim Rattay– SF QB:
|
Almost literally has no chance vs. Dallas D
Rattay is getting little help from his offensive
line and less from his run game, which isn't
wearing down opponents, slowing the pass rush
or creating manageable down-and-distance situations.
|
DeShaun Foster– CAR
RB:
|
With Stephen Davis looking a lot younger than
it says on his driving license, Foster has been
slotted back to number two on the depth chart.
Foster will get carries and also be a factor as
a receiver out of the backfield, but Davis is
the Panthers' go-to guy |
Cedrick Benson – CHI
RB:
|
Thomas Jones is on fire, so expect that trend
to continue this week as they look to pound the
rock versus a tough bengals team @home. Benson
has been OK, but, I don't think he's doing much
other than coming along slowly but surely. |
