gem of fantasy football.Onto
this weeks Fantasy Football Hot & Not Players.
Week 9 Outlook: With Boldin
out Larry is the main man. Fitzgerald's size,
hops, agility and hands make him a great downfield
threat, and he would be a nightmare for pint-size
Seattle CBs Kelly Herndon and Andre Dyson
in single coverage.
Antonio Chatman, WR - GB:
WEEK 9 Outlook: Because Pittsburgh
blitzes often and usually will roll FS Chris Hope
to WR Donald Driver's side, Chatman should draw
a lot of single coverage. QB Brett Favre has shown
he has the confidence to throw to Chatman--not
that he has much choice anymore
Dion Branch WR - NE:
WEEK 9 Outlook: Branch is the
ideal receiver for taking on Indianapolis' cover
2 scheme. He has the feet and technique to avoid
the press and get into his route quickly (which
will help negate the Colts' pass rush)
Steve Smith, WR - CAR:
WEEK 9 Outlook: Smith has been
as productive as any wide receiver in the league
and owners should never consider sitting this
big play option. Tampa will do everything possible
to take Smith out of the passing game with rolled
coverages to his side while forcing Carolina's
secondary receiving options to produce.
Brian Westbrook, RB- PHI:
WEEK 9 Outlook: For all the media
hysteria surrounding Philadelphia's unbalanced
offense, Westbrook's per game carries actually
line up well with his 2004 numbers. Last season,
Westbrook received 13 carries per game, only two
more than the 11 he is averaging this season.
Lamont Jordan, RB - OAK:
WEEK
9 Outlook: Jordan's carries and production
have been a bit uneven, and Kansas City's run
defense has tightened up this season, thanks
to better linebacker play and fewer blown assignments.
Still, the Chiefs are running a little low on
talent, depth and size on the front line, and
Oakland's huge linemen and the 230-pound Jordan
can wear them down
Tony Gonzalez, TE - KC:
WEEK
9 Outlook: With CB Charles Woodson
out (leg), Oakland has no defender capable of
covering Gonzalez. The Raiders will have to
be almost perfect to keep Gonzo from going off

FOOTBALL WHO'S NOT HOT - FOLLOWING WEEK 8
Randy Moss, WR- OAK:
WEEK 9 Outlook: Moss is a weapon
any week he takes the field, but he has been held
to six catches for 69 yards and a TD in the two
weeks since he suffered multiple injuries (head,
ribs, groin) on a vicious spill. His size and
hands alone could be worth a start
Trent Dilfer, QB - Browns:
WEEK 9 Outlook: Be very wary
of Trent Dilfer this week as rookie Charlie Frye
could get into the game very quickly if Dilfer
struggles or Frye could possibly even get the
start. Although Cleveland's receivers have some
favorable matchups against the Titans' corners
and Dilfer has a big arm to get them the ball
deep downfield, Dilfer is just too risky
Marty Booker, WR Dolphins:
WEEK 9 Outlook: Booker offers
Gus Frerotte a reliable short-intermediate target
but Booker offers little in the way of big play
potential. With Miami's passing game taking a
backseat to the team's up-and-coming run game,
Booker's receptions will be limited
Eric Parker, WR, SD:
WEEK 9 Outlook: New York may
try to roll a deep safety to Parker's side of
the field to help a shaky David Barrett in coverage
but with LaDainian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates
both requiring regular safety help as well, the
Jets may be forced to pick their poison.
Marcell Shipp, RB, ARI:
WEEK 9 Outlook: Just what he
needed: another edge for opposing D. Shipp is
finding very little room to run behind Arizona's
offensive line, and he lacks the speed or power
to create much for himself. The going just got
tougher, with the loss of WR Anquan Boldin (knee).
Brandon Lloyd, WR - SF:
WEEK 9 Outlook:
Lloyd has the best opportunity to get into the
end zone out of any of San Francisco's receiving
options due to his body control and size against
very average corners for the Giants. Biggest thing
is Lloyd still needs someone to get him the ball
Cadillac Williams, RB - TB:
WEEK 9 Outlook:
Monitor Williams' progress during the week, but
his foot and hamstring issues appeared to be bothering
him last week and it is uncertain if you can expect
the rookie to be the player he was at the beginning
of this season.
