you to come back each week and see how the NFL
Power Rankings have changed. NFL Power Rankings
will be updated by Wednesday every week. Be

and NFL analysis. Its with this knowledge that
we can then deliver to you The
NFL Power Rankings!
With the NFL week 11 behind
us, it's time to check in with the Week 12 NFL
Power Rankings.

On Football's 2006 NFL Power Rankings |
This week's NFL Power rankings were determined
by a poll of WageronFootball staff -- writers
Q. Smyth, D. Bachman, and M. Pool. |
The Indianapolis Colts are still tied for the
best record in the National Football League, but
their loss to the Dallas Cowboys on the weekend
allowed us to put a new team at the top of this
week's edition of the NFL Power Rankings. It's
the San Diego Chargers that find themselves in
the No. 1 position. Also moving up the Bears blanked
the New York Jets on Sunday to run their season
record to 9-1, and continue their march toward
home-field advantage in the NFC playoffs; Chicago
is now sitting at least three games up on every
other team in the conference.
The San Diego Chargers and the Baltimore Ravens,
however, continued their winning ways on the
weekend, and both of those teams now sit at
8-2 on the season. Losses by one or both of
the Colts and Bears this weekend, combined with
Chargers and Ravens victories, could result
in a real shakeup at the top of the list. Baltimore
is at No. 4. Rounding out the Week 12 Top 5
are the New England Patriots, who trounced the
Green Bay Packers 35-0 on Sunday.
Here is the Week 12 edition of the NFL Power
Rankings.

LaDainian Tomlinson ran
for 105 yards and three more touchdowns
on Sunday as the Chargers defeated Denver. |
2 |
At least
the pressure of completing an undefeated
season is gone. Two late TDs by Dallas gave
them their loss. |
3 |
Good thing they held the
Jets scoreless on Sunday afternoon, because
their offense couldn't get very much going. |
4 |
Somehow
they're now 8-2 on the season after beating
the Falcons. Jamal Lewis ran for three scores
on Sunday. |
5 |
Cruised past the Packers
on the weekend, but are still trailing a
couple other AFC teams for playoff home-field. |
6 |
Tony Romo
went 19-of-23 for 226 yards against the
Colts, as the Cowboys moved up the NFC pecking
order. |
7 |
Jake Plummer went just 13-of-28
for 183 yards against the Chargers, with
no touchdowns and an interception. |
8 |
Have caught
the Saints in the standings, and are pushing
their way up the rankings too. In Washington
this week. |
9 |
Got past the Giants on Monday
night to get back into the win column. David
Garrard went 19-of-32 for 249 yards. |
10 |
Trent
Green went 9-of-16 for 102 yards on Sunday,
but it was enough to boost the Chiefs past
the hapless Raiders. |
11 |
Shaun Alexander came back
for the Seahawks last week, but he ran for
just 37 yards in their loss to the 49ers. |
12 |
Got three
TD catches from Chad Johnson and an interception
return by Ethan Kilmer in their win over
the Saints. |
13 |
Drew Brees threw for 510
yards against the Bengals on Sunday, but
his three interceptions didn't help matters. |
14 |
Not a
great outing for Eli Manning against the
Jaguars: 19-of-41 for 230 yards, one touchdown,
two interceptions. |
15 |
Scored three touchdowns
in the fourth quarter on Sunday to get past
the Browns. Willie Parker picked up two
TDs. |
16 |
Michael
Vick threw for 127 yards and ran for 54
yards in their loss to the Ravens. Host
the Saints this weekend. |
17 |
Chad Pennington found the
going tough against the Bears: 19-of-35
for 162 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions. |
18 |
The key
to their win over the Seahawks? No one could
stop Frank Gore, who ran for 212 yards on
24 carries. |
19 |
Yes, the Dolphins are winning
now, but shouldn't someone tell them that
the games start to count much earlier? |
20 |
Lost both
the game (to the Titans) and Donovan McNabb
(to a season-ending injury) on an extremely
ugly weekend. |
21 |
Going the wrong way in both
the standings and the rankings. Marc Bulger
threw for 142 yards and an INT last week. |
22 |
Brett
Favre had to leave their loss to the Patriots,
but he'll be back. Aaron Rodgers, though,
is done for the season. |
23 |
Scored a late touchdown
to get past the Texans on the road on Sunday.
J.P. Losman tossed three TD passes. |
24 |
The decline
of the Vikings continues, as they fell to
the Dolphins on Sunday. Brad Johnson had
zero TDs, one INT. |
25 |
Vince Young went 8-of-22
for 101 yards passing against the Eagles,
and had six carries for 49 yards in the
win. |
26 |
David
Carr was an efficient 25-of-30 for 223 yards
against the Bills, but had zero TD passes
and one interception. |
27 |
Showed some life last week
by taking care of the 'Skins. Should find
the going tougher against Dallas on Thursday. |
28 |
Jason
Campbell threw a couple of touchdown strikes
against the Bucs, but the Redskins still
dropped to awful 3-7. |
29 |
Their loss to the Steelers
on the weekend ruined their chance of moving
out of the division cellar. Bengals up next. |
30 |
Went up
17-0 against the Lions on Sunday, then held
on for a 17-10 victory. That could hurt
their drafting position. |
31 |
Now tied with the Cardinals
and the Raiders for the worst record in
the league. Host the Dolphins on Thursday. |
32 |
Find themselves
back in the rankings' cellar this week,
after they lost to the Chiefs and the Cards
grabbed a win. |
