fantasy FOOTBALL - Week 9 hot & not players
Hot & Not Following Week
8's NFL Games...
If you are in need
of a HOT fantasy football player
these Top Hot players for the week should help
you out if they're in your lineup. If you need
to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS
should be them. Fantasy Football always favors
the prepared mind. The more research you do,
and the more HOT players you
have to choose from on your team, the better
your odds are of winning your fantasy football
league outright this year.

WEEK 9 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Philip Rivers |
HOT
QUARTERBACKS
Even if Rivers
isn't very active against Cleveland, he'll
make the shots he takes count. The Browns
have a punchless pass rush, and they'll
rely on overmatched CB Daven Holly to
replace CB Gary Baxter. |
|
The efficient Huard will be a good play
again as the Rams try to fill their defensive
holes. Huard does not post great numbers,
but he has been a strong play four of
the last five weeks and the Rams are weak
enough that Huard should do well again. |
|
HOT
RUNNING BACKS
Bell is back in the mix in Denver, and
he could be the lead runner against Pittsburgh.
RB Tatum Bell's turf toe could limit him
this week (and beyond), and Mike Bell
is coming off a huge day against Indianapolis.
Of course, the Colts can't compare to
the Steelers vs the run. |
|
Two good games have put Lundy back in
the mix of starters again. After a three-game
benching, Lundy has returned to rush to
rush for 209 yards in the last two games.
He is worth considering this week. |
3. Marion Barber |
Barber has been arguably the most valuable
backup running back in the NFL this season
(and he's got some very stiff competition
in the Year of the Time Share), and is
averaging 5.1 YPC with six touchdowns
in seven games. |
4. Maurice Drew |
His elusive running style has helped him
earn more time on the field for the Jaguars,
and his impressive receiving ability has
earned him more time in fantasy lineups.
Expect Jones-Drew to take advantage of
a very weak Tennessee front seven, and
put up respectable numbers. Somewhere
around 90 total yards and a touchdown
can be expected.
|
|
He's sure to get his touches, but his success
depends on how effectively the Chiefs attack
holes and wrap up. Jackson has been dancing
at the line a little too much, but he should
find room to run if he hits holes aggressively. |
|
HOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
Jenkins’ reliable hands earns
him a steady spot in QB Michael Vick’s
passing progressions. Vick’s passing
improvement could help Jenkins become
a more reliable fantasy receiver and two
of his three TDs have come in the last
two games, despite just five total catches
in that time. |
|
Henry’s return last week from suspension
allowed the Bengals to spread the field
with more three-receiver sets. They have
to be aggressive in the passing game against
a struggling Baltimore secondary and Henry
has been the team’s most reliable
deep threat. |
|
Gabriel has emerged as Tom Brady's most
dangerous wide receiver and the new Patriot
should make a fantasy impact against one
of the team's fiercest rivals.
|
|
HOT
TIGHT ENDS
Clark, one of fantasy football's top
tight ends, is a must-start against a
Miami defense that will struggle to handle
him in coverage. The Dolphins have faced
just two tight ends in the same league
as Clark -- the Steelers' Heath Miller
and the Patriots' Ben Watson. |
|
HOT DEFENSES
Counting on any fantasy defense -- even
one as talented as the Patriots -- to
shut down the Colts' offense is a risky
proposition. The smart fantasy play is
to find a better matchup. |

WEEK 9 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Byron Leftwich |
NOT
QUARTERBACKS
Leftwich
(ankle) will give way to QB David Garrard
in Jacksonville's lineup for at least
another week. |
|
Bye Week and falling down the mountain quickly. |
|
NOT
RUNNING BACKS
The Raiders offensive line has been horrendous,
and even if he starts for the "Silver
and Black" Sunday, he shouldn't be
starting for your fantasy team. Expect Jordan
to share the load with Justin Fargas and
will likely render himself useless in fantasy
for yet another week. |
|
Dayne has gone from his team’s starter
to out of the discussion. |
3. Maurice Morris |
Neither Morris nor his offensive linemen
have played very well in his starts. And
when you consider that QB Matt Hasselbeck
(knee) will sit again, giving the defense
less to fear from Seattle's passing game,
Morris looks like a third-rate fantasy option. |
4. Dominic Rhodes |
Rhodes has been lapped by rookie RB Joseph
Addai and will have a difficult making
an impact against a stout Patriots' run
defense.
|
|
NOT WIDE
RECEIVERS
Edwards has been awfully quiet lately, and
the San Diego matchup could keep him silent
another week. |
|
Bye Week this week, but you really should
dump him permanently with Fitzgerald scheduled
to be back next week. |
|
Moulds is not much of a fantasy threat
these days and should not be one of your
top options. He has only three catches
in each of the last two games and does
not appear to be one of the high priority
receivers in the Texans’ offense. |
|
NOT
TIGHT END
Smith does not get many looks but often
does quite a bit with what he does get.
He has only three catches in his last
two games as the Bucs’ passing game
has slowed down dramatically.
|
|
NOT
DEFENSE
Bye Week |
|
If your using the Colts D you have some
serious issues.
