Hot & Not Following Week
2's NFL Games...
If you are in need
of a HOT fantasy football player
these Top Hot players for the week should help
you out if they're in your lineup. If you need
to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS
should be them. Fantasy Football always favors
the prepared mind. The more research you do,
and the more HOT players you
have to choose from on your team, the better
your odds are of winning your fantasy football
league outright this year.

WEEK 3 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Rex Grossman |
HOT
QUARTERBACKS
Grossman is
the NFL's leading passer with a 128.7
rating as he heads into Sunday's showdown
with the unbeaten Vikings. He has been
consistent and explosive in his first
two outings. Can he continue this against
a solid, aggressive Minnesota defense? |
|
Pennington injured his calf against
the Patriots last Sunday but is listed
as probable for this weekend's game. Expect
Chad to take advantage of Buffalo's rookie
safeties Donte Whitner and Ko Simpson
during Sunday's game.
|
|
Philadelphia's secondary has some injury
issues, San Francisco's offense will continue
to center on RB Frank Gore early in games.
However, if the 49ers follow the script
and fall behind early, the 49ers may have
no choice but to air it out. |
|
HOT
RUNNING BACKS
Turner ran for a career-high 138 yards
on just 13 carries in Sunday's 40-7 win
over Tennessee. He has been productive
over the first two games of the season,
but his real value lies in a LaDainian
Tomlison injury because one can not expect
San Diego to blow teams out each week. |
2. Rudi Johnson |
Sit Johnson at your own risk vs the Steelers.
He ran for 145 yards last week and the Steelers
were pushed around on the ground by Jacksonville.
Sure, the Steelers are tougher than the
Browns and the Bengals have some offensive
line injuries. But Johnson is playing at
a high level right now and is a good threat
to score. |
3. Willis McGahee |
McGahee rushed for 91 yards on 25 carries
in the Bills' win over Miami on Sunday.
McGahee will finally breakout against
a struggling Jets' front seven. Last week,
the Patriots' offensive line dominated
the play in the trenches against the Jets
and the Bills should have similar success
this week.
|
|
Taylor had 24 carries for 113 yards and
also had three receptions for 15 yards in
Sunday's win over Carolina. Minnesota has
shown an unwavering commitment to the run
game, and the Vikes' hulking linemen (particularly
left-siders OT Bryant McKinnie and Steve
Hutchinson) and FB Tony Richardson can overpower
and wear down Chicago's undersized front
seven. |
|
HOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
Driver hauled in seven passes for 96 yards
on Sunday during the Packers' 26-0 loss
against Chicago. Driver might wind up having
a solid fantasy season because of how often
the Packers have to play from behind and
this week is no different. He will get plenty
of looks, although Detroit cornerbacks Fernando
Bryant and Dre Bly should not allow many
big plays. |
|
HOT
DEFENSE
Although the Jets' offensive line has
shown some early season signs of improvement,
the Bills' pass rush has been lights out
thus far and the defense is coming off
a monster game against Miami. |
|
HOT
DEFENSE
Atlanta has allowed only nine points in
two weeks and has been especially good
against the run. The Falcons also have
forced five turnovers, tied for fifth
in the league, but are in the middle of
the pack with just five sacks.

NFL
WEEK 3 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Chris Simms |
NOT
QUARTERBACKS
Simms makes
this list 2 weeks in a row. We hear the
recent struggles of Simms could force
the Bucanners to sign a veteran signal-caller.
Carolina's pass rush is still great (or
should be) and Simms can expect to be
under pressure all game. Not a good sign
for owners when he has a lower QB rating
than Aaron Brooks. |
|
When asked if there was a scenario in
which Plummer would be benched in favor
of rookie Jay Cutler during Sunday's game,
coach Mike Shanahan replied with a simple
"no", the Rocky Mountain News
reports. Plummer "could" find
some favorable matchups for top targets
Javon Walker and Rod Smith vs the Pats.. |
|
Owners take note Brunell will be a good
play this week. The Redskins' offense has
been a disaster thus far but so has Houston's
defense. The Texans have allowed six passing
TDs in two games |
|
NOT
RUNNING BACKS
We hear that Gary Kubiak is ready to hand
the starting RB job over to Ron Dayne
for Sunday's game against Washington.
What about Gado? Obviously, with three
backs sharing duties, none are considered
good fantasy plays this week. |
2. TJ Duckett |
With Clinton Portis getting back on the
field, the Redskins could set up their regular
running back rotation for the first time.
What that is, is still unclear, but the
Redskins ought to have more scoring chances
against Houston than in their first two
games. |
3. Chris Brown |
Week 3 isn't looking much better. The
Titans' offensive line has done a terrible
job at creating running room for the team's
backs, a necessity against Miami's talented
linebackers. With no running lanes, Brown
will continue to be an ugly starter. Sit
him.
|
|
NOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
Lloyd, who has only one catch after the
first two games of the season, is being
patient and hoping to see more passes thrown
his way as the season progresses. He was
brought in to stretch the field...right
now he's doing nothing more than stretching
in warmups. |
|
Kennison had two catches for 39 yards in
Sunday's overtime loss to the Broncos. With
Damon Huard under center for Trent Green
(concussion), the Chiefs went the safe route
and featured the run, getting Larry Johnson
plenty involved and forgetting about Kennison,
thank goodness for the bye week. |
|
NOT
TIGHT END
Hard for Troupe to make a fantsay impact
when his quarterbacks are making Aaron
Brooks look good. Until the Titans' offense
gets on track, stay away from Troupe.
|
1. Buccaneers
Defense/ ST |
NOT
DEFENSE
Tampa's once vaunted defense has been
a shell of its former self through the
first two weeks of the season. Though
the unit should perform better against
a struggling Carolina offense, the Bucs
are still a risky fantasy start.
