fantasy FOOTBALL - Week 5 hot & not players
Hot & Not Following Week
3's NFL Games...
If you are in need
of a HOT fantasy football player
these Top Hot players for the week should help
you out if they're in your lineup. If you need
to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS
should be them. Fantasy Football always favors
the prepared mind. The more research you do,
and the more HOT players you
have to choose from on your team, the better
your odds are of winning your fantasy football
league outright this year.

WEEK 4 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Matt Hasselbeck |
HOT
QUARTERBACKS
Hasselbeck
tied a club record by throwing five touchdown
passes in the Seahawks' 42-30 victory
over the New York Giants Hasselbeck could
have more opportunities for big days like
he had Sunday as the Seahawks plan to
employ more four-receiver sets. |
|
Palmer has all his receivers healthy
and the Bengals will use their no huddle
and spread looks to exploit New England's
secondary for mismatches. He is a must-start
every week
|
|
Brees was an efficient 20-of-28 for 191
yards on Monday night against Atlanta.
He didn't have any touchdowns, but Brees
played a turnover-free game a week after
committing three turnovers. The Saints had
a comfortable lead for most of the game,
which limited the number of risks that they
took in the passing game. |
|
HOT
RUNNING BACKS
Morris will start Sunday for the Seahawks
as Shaun Alexander has a broken foot and
is out indefinitely. Don't expect big
numbers out of Morris against the Bears
on Sunday. Best case scenario, the Bears
load up on stopping the Seattle passing
game, which opens running lanes for Morris.
|
2. Maurice Drew-Jones
|
Drew appeared on numerous third downs and
spelled Fred Taylor from time to time. With
LaBrandon Toefield inactive, Drew appears
to have assumed the primary back-up role.
Unfortunately, it's not as lucrative of
a fantasy role as it once appeared as the
Jags appear committed to letting Taylor
shoulder the load this season. |
3. Brian Westbrook
|
Westbrook (knee inflammation) is officially
listed as questionable for Monday night's
game against the Packers, the Eagles'
official site reports. It is unknown at
this time if he will practice on Thursday.
Westbrook only practiced last Friday and
racked up 117 rushing yards and three
total touchdowns against the 49ers.
|
|
Portis looks to be recovered from his shoulder
injury and should be considered a No. 1
RB again. The Redskins have a difficult
matchup in Week 5 against Jacksonville,
but Portis should still be counted on for
his usual production. |
|
HOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
The Speed of Berrian has given the Bears
an explosive element to its passing attack
that was missing in recent years. This dynamic
when added to the run game and the contolled
passing game to WR Muhammad and TE Clark
really keeps defenses honest. |
|
Edwards is making an impact as a much-needed
deep threat for a previously conservative
offense. The Raiders rarely get out of
their man-to-man coverage and do not have
a shutdown cornerback who can stay with
Edwards all the way down the field. |
|
HOT
DEFENSE
The New Orleans defense allowed just 229
total net yards and three points in their
Week 5 win against the Falcons. They are
rising as a Fantasy option and are a solid
play in Week 5 at Carolina if your primary
option has a bye week or difficult matchup.

NFL
WEEK 4 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Aaron Brooks
|
NOT
QUARTERBACKS
Quarterback
Aaron Brooks, out at least one game with
a torn pectoral muscle, seemed to be moving
better Monday and said he felt better.
Sunday's game against Cleveland will be
the first time in his career Brooks has
missed a game due to injury. |
|
Trent Green will not play in the Kansas
City Chiefs' game Sunday against the San
Francisco 49ers. Green, 36, suffered a
severe concussion in the Sept. 10 season
opener against Cincinnati and has been
replaced by journeyman Damon Huard. Head
coach Herm Edwards said Monday that Green
was "doing better" |
|
Warner will start at Atlanta in Week 5,
and that's not exactly the best matchup
for him. Despite having a stellar offense
around him, Warner has become a turnover
machine (five interceptions, two lost fumbles). |
|
NOT
RUNNING BACKS
Mike Bell may not be starting, but he
still has value in Fantasy leagues since
he'll get some carries weekly and also
would fill in for Tatum Bell if he stopped
being productive or got hurt. Consider
him a very low-end No. 3 Fantasy RB |
2. Mike Anderson |
Anderson has shown some flashes and is now
inline to be Lewis' backup if he should
fall to injury, but this week is far from
appealing if you are considering starting
Anderson. San Diego is just too good up
front and Anderson takes too long to get
going. |
3. Samkon Gado |
Chances limited as Gado is stuck as a
reserve. The Texans are giving Ron Dayne
a shot as their starter for now, but the
rushing offense has not been solid. Gado
will not get enough touches behind Dayne
to merit starting and the Texans likely
will have trouble running again.
|
|
NOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
ivens has been slow to settle in with the
Titans and having to adjust to a new quarterback
just before the season did not help. He
will have a tough matchup this week if he
is squared off against Terence Newman most
of the game. |
|
The Chiefs' passing game is very conservative
with Damon Huard playing for Trent Green
and that is unlikely to change. Kennison
will get a chance to exploit his edge in
experience against the 49ers' inexperienced
secondary. But if the Chiefs do not open
up the playbook, his chances will remain
limited. |
|
NOT
TIGHT END
Davis suffered a cracked fibula in Sunday's
game against Philadelphia and will miss
the next four weeks of the season. Eric
Johnson will take over the tight end duties
in the interim.
|
|
NOT
DEFENSE
Using the Falcons defense for Fantasy
play could be rough since Arizona has
the personnel to put up some points. For
owners in IDP leagues, Abraham and Hartwell
would both be advisable starts if they're
healthy. This D needs a boost.
