fantasy FOOTBALL - Week 8 hot & not players
Hot & Not Following Week
7's NFL Games...
If you are in need
of a HOT fantasy football player
these Top Hot players for the week should help
you out if they're in your lineup. If you need
to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS
should be them. Fantasy Football always favors
the prepared mind. The more research you do,
and the more HOT players you
have to choose from on your team, the better
your odds are of winning your fantasy football
league outright this year.

WEEK 8 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Tony Romo |
HOT
QUARTERBACKS
Maybe a week
of practice with the first string will
help Romo, but don't bet on it. If he
starts this week, Romo needs to play better
than the three interceptions he threw
in the second half of the Cowboys' Monday
night debacle. |
|
Kitna went 22-for-36 with 269 yards,
three touchdowns and two interceptions
in the Lions' 31-24 loss to the Jets on
Sunday. Kitna is now second in the league
in passing yards with 1,853, to go along
with his nine touchdowns. |
|
HOT
RUNNING BACKS
Averaging 5.3 yards per carry over his
last three games, Washington will romp
against one of the NFL's worst run defenses.
Opposing running backs have made quick
work of the Browns' defense, ripping off
144.2 yards per game at a 4.6 yards per
carry clip |
|
Since Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher made
the decision to put the team's offense
on the veteran's shoulders, Henry has
been unstoppable and should have no problems
dominating a Houston defense that struggles
in every aspect of the game. |
3. Wali Lundy |
Usually, a running back by committee
situation is kryptonite for fantasy owners.
But after Lundy's strong Week 7 performance
and with the NFL's worst run defense on
tap for this Sunday, it may be time to
roll the dice and get him in the lineup. |
4. Maurice Drew |
ersatile rookie Drew will remind the Eagles
of their teammate Brian Westbrook. The
Jaguars have increasingly used Drew in
all facets of the offense, much as the
Eagles do with Westbrook. They need to
get Drew matched up against the Eagles'
questionable linebackers.
|
|
Think the bye week did Green any good? With
his hamstring sufficiently healed, Green
busted a 70-yard TD run against a good Miami
front seven last week, helping the Packers'
improving offensive line author consecutive
100-yard performances for three different
Green Bay backs. |
|
HOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
Washington might not be in for a big
game against a physical defense, especially
with the Steelers' quarterback issues.
Washington has turned into a good deep
threat, but Oakland CBs Namdi Asomugha,
Fabian Washington and Stanford Routt are
playing well because they are jostling
receivers so much in man-to-man coverage. |
|
Johnson has proved to be more productive
in the absence of WR Larry Fitzgerald than
his past work would suggest. Johnson also
is getting regular looks from QB Matt Leinart
and will benefit from a decent amount of
single coverage against overrated Green
Bay CB Charles Woodson. |
|
Brown should go to work off the play-action
pass and have another big week. With TDs
three games in a row, Brown has become
almost a must-start, especially against
a defense prone to giving up points in
bunches such as Jacksonville.
|
|
HOT
TIGHT ENDS
Daniels has just nine receptions on the
season, but three have gone for touchdowns.
Texans' QB David Carr looks Daniels' way
inside the red zone -- the tight end is
tied with WR Andre Johnson for the team
lead in red-zone targets |
|
HOT DEFENSES
A Giants' pass rush that has been on
an absolute rampage the past three weeks
-- 16 sacks over that period -- will force
Tampa's self-destructive rookie quarterback
into frequent turnover opportunities. |

NFL
WEEK 8 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Drew Bledsoe |
NOT
QUARTERBACKS
If Dallas
goes back to Bledsoe, his leash will be
even shorter. Bledsoe would have trouble
dealing with both Carolina's pass rush,
led by DE Julius Peppers, and a ballhawking
secondary that will be ready to jump all
over the passes he has been telegraphing. |
|
In Denver, WR Rod Smith is ancient,
WR Javon Walker is new, the tight end
position is a black hole, and the Broncos
don't throw enough to allow Plummer to
get into a rhythm. |
|
NOT
RUNNING BACKS
After getting benched by coach Gary Kubiak
last week, there's little reason for fantasy
owners to expect much out of the struggling
Dayne against Tennessee. Dayne could see
some action as a backup. |
|
May get some touches, if Tatum Bell's
Turf toe keeps acting up. |
3. Maurice Morris |
ot much is going right for Morris as he
tries to fill in for injured RB Shaun Alexander.
Seattle's offensive line typically has looked
overwhelmed in Morris' three replacement
starts and he has yet to average better
than 3.2 yards a carry in any of those games. |
4. DeShaun Foster |
The Giants' Tiki Barber sprung loose for
several big gains against Dallas last
week, but Foster, involved in a physical
game against Cincinnati, was unable to
consistently move the chains. And if this
game turns into a slugfest in the trenches,
Foster will be the one who is beat up.
|
|
NOT WIDE
RECEIVERS
Mason has struggled to emerge this season
and has only game with more than 50 receiving
yards, despite his prior working relationship
with QB Steve McNair when both were in Tennessee. |
|
He has the size, burst and route-running
ability to get open against the Bears cover
2, and he can out-quick CB Charles Tillman
or outmuscle undersized CB Nathan Vasher
when Chicago is in man-to-man. Still, someone
has to get Bryant the ball. |
|
Bye Week - get him out of your lineups. |
|
NOT
TIGHT END
The emergence of the Titans' running game
has meant more blocking, and fewer receiving
opportunities, for Troupe. He remains
a solid short-intermediate target for
QB Vince Young but won't get the throws
to make a fantasy impact.
