Hot & Not Following Week
10's NFL Games...
If you are in need
of a HOT fantasy football player
these Top Hot players for the week should help
you out if they're in your lineup. If you need
to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS
should be them. Fantasy Football always favors
the prepared mind. The more research you do,
and the more HOT players you
have to choose from on your team, the better
your odds are of winning your fantasy football
league outright this year.

WEEK 11 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Tony Romo |
HOT
QUARTERBACKS
The inexperienced
Romo is turning into one of the league's
more reliable quarterbacks. He has not
looked like a quarterback with three career
starts; he has completed at least 66%
of his passes in those games with only
one total interception and two TD passes
in each of the last two games. |
|
Coming off his biggest game of the season,
McNair should have another strong outing.
The Falcons are 30th in the league in
passing yards allowed, have been atrocious
in the back end of their secondary and
are ravaged by injuries to their defensive
backs. |
|
HOT
RUNNING BACKS
Betts takes over as the Redskins' lead
back and hopes to build on his limited
success. He's had two good games this
year when he has gotten at least 16 carries
-- which he should now that he is the
starter in the wake of Clinton Portis'
broken hand. |
|
With starter Willis McGahee (ribs) out
of action again, Thomas will once again
power the Bills' run-heavy offense. Houston
has struggled all season to stop the run
-- opponents are averaging 4.6 yards per
carry against the Texans -- and Buffalo's
revamped offensive line should be able
to win the battle in the trenches. |
3. Maurice Morris |
Morris has come alive the last two weeks,
and he may still have life yet. Even if
RB Shaun Alexander (foot) returns this
week, it's doubtful that he'd be ready
for a full ride. Morris might not get
20 carries, but he should get enough. |
4. T.J. Duckett |
Duckett should be ready for his most extensive
playing time of the season. He has only
seven carries on the year and easily could
have more this week. Duckett's best role
is as a power back in short-yardage situations,
which could develop into a valuable job
if the Redskins give him some scoring
chances.
|
|
Gore (concussion, questionable) went through
individual drills on Wednesday and should
be ready to go Sunday. The Seahawks have
been getting railroaded because they're
failing in the same areas in which they
excelled last season: tackling, discipline,
intensity. Seattle might devote more safety
help than usual to run support if San Francisco's
passing game doesn't become a little more
menacing |
|
HOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
Clayton is emerging as the Ravens' most
productive receiver and worth a start
most weeks. He took over the team lead
in receptions from veteran Derrick Mason
last week and has three big games out
of the last four. |
|
Henderson had three catches for 111 yards
and two touchdowns last week, and the Saints
will be looking to him to carry some of
the load since they will be without Horn.
If you're in need of a fill-in receiver,
give Henderson some consideration.
|
|
Taking advantage of more playing time,
Crayton has had two big games in a row.
Filling in for the injured Terry Glenn,
Crayton has 188 yards and a TD over the
last two weeks. He does not draw the defensive
attention that Owens does and could be
a good replacement if you need a receiver
for this week. Check Glenn's status on
Sunday.
|
|
HOT
TIGHT ENDS
Scaife has had some decent games, despite
his production being extremely unpredictable.
If you are desperate for a tight end,
Scaife might bail you out because he often
is able to bail out QB Vince Young. |
|
HOT DEFENSES
Kansas City awaits the perfect remedy
for all its problems: the Raiders' offense.
Oakland is easily last in the league in
both points and yards this season, which
means good things for a beat-up Chiefs
defense. |

NFL
WEEK 11 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Mark Brunell |
NOT
QUARTERBACKS
Barring an
injury, Mark Brunell will remain a reserve.
Second-year QB Jason Campbell is the Redskins'
starter, likely for the rest of the season,
after Brunell struggled for much of the
first part of the year. Brunell's value
is shot. |
|
Smith hasn't gotten much leash lately, and
San Francisco might not need to turn him
loose against Seattle. The Seahawks have
had trouble stopping the run, and the offense
still is dealing with some injuries. If
the 49ers have their way, RB Frank Gore
will do all of the heavy lifting. |
|
NOT
RUNNING BACKS
Staying true to his well-known hatred for
fantasy football owners, Mike Shanahan unexpectedly
benched M. Bell last week. But with starter
Tatum Bell (toe) battling a nagging injury,
expect M. Bell to be back in the lineup
against the Chargers. |
|
Portis was placed on injured reserve Wednesday
due to a broken right hand and will undergo
additional surgery to repair a torn labrum
in his left shoulder, reports the Washington
Post. |
3. Willis McGahee |
McGahee (out; ribs) will miss his second
consecutive game this Sunday and has not
been able to return to the practice field.
This was expected so McGahee owners should
not have been caught off guard. Backup RB
Anthony Thomas will get his second consecutive
start. |
4. Jerious Norwood |
Norwood missed last week's game because
of a sprained knee and might miss still
more time. And even if Norwood can return,
he will be a bad play against the Ravens'
second-ranked run defense.
|
|
NOT WIDE
RECEIVERS
With WR Larry Fitzgerald back in action,
someone in the Arizona passing game has
to lose catches and it's not going to be
Anquan Boldin. Johnson is the odd man out.
Though the Detroit secondary is abysmal,
Johnson simply won't get the looks in the
passing game with Fitzgerald and Boldin
dominating the throws. |
|
Gabriel was benched last week after coughing
up a fumble but the receiver's stay in Bill
Belichick's doghouse will be a short one;
expect a bounce back game from Gabriel against
a suspect Packers secondary. |
|
Glenn missed last week's game because
of a quadriceps and knee injury and his
status will be in doubt again this week.
He would be a good play if healthy because
the Cowboys have to be aggressive on offense
to keep up with the potent Colts. |
|
NOT
TIGHT END
Smith could find some room to play well
if QB Bruce Gradkowski goes his direction.
He is an instinctive player with natural,
soft hands who can find that natural holes
underneath the Redskins' coverage.
|
|
NOT
DEFENSE
Even on the road, the Steelers will
be a good play against the Browns' inconsistent
offense. Pittsburgh's defense has had
its problems this season but this matchup
against a so-so offense should be favorable. |
|
New Orleans' coaching staff has done an
admirable job of covering up for mediocre
defensive personnel. So what's the breaking
point? Cincinnati. The Saints are playing
at home, their pass-rushing ends match
up very well with an injury-depleted Bengals
offensive line.
