Hot & Not Following Week
4's NFL Games...
If you are in need
of a HOT fantasy football player
these Top Hot players for the week should help
you out if they're in your lineup. If you need
to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS
should be them. Fantasy Football always favors
the prepared mind. The more research you do,
and the more HOT players you
have to choose from on your team, the better
your odds are of winning your fantasy football
league outright this year.

WEEK 5 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Rex Grossman |
HOT
QUARTERBACKS
Grossman went
17-for-31 passing for 232 yards and two
touchdowns in Sunday's win over the Seahawks.
Grossman looked terrific once again Sunday
night, having little trouble picking apart
a formidable Seattle defense. |
|
Frye threw for 192 yards with three
touchdowns and a pair of interceptions
in Sunday's 24-21, comeback victory at
Oakland. Frye had a rough first half,
passing for just 68 yards, but tossed
a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter
with the Browns trailing by 11 points.
Frye continues to have a nice rapport
with Braylon Edwards
|
|
Huard completed 18-of-23 passes for 208
yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win
against the 49ers. The Chiefs took their
shots against a suspect 49ers secondary
and Huard proved to be cabable. |
|
HOT
RUNNING BACKS
Jones-Drew and the entire Jacksonville
running game was shut down on Sunday,
rushing for well under 50 yards as a team.
Jones-Drew has scored on a receiving touchdown
in two straight games and is a nice change
of pace to starter Fred Taylor.
|
2. Ladell Betts
|
Betts is fully entrenched as Clinton Portis'
backup. T.J. Duckett was inactive for the
second week in a row. Expect Betts to see
five to 10 carries a game. |
3. Verand Morency
|
Since the season opener, the number of
total touches for the team's feature back
has increased. Against New Orleans, Green
had 22 touches, followed by 30 against
Detroit. This past Monday, Morency had
32. If that trend continues, look for
the Packers to keep Green fresh by sprinkling
in some plays for Morency.
|
|
Jones had 19 carries for a season-high 93
yards and scored a pair of touchdowns in
Sunday's 41-34 loss at St. Louis. Jones
still has not received 20 carries in a game
this season, although his number of carries
have gone up each week. |
|
HOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
Colston caught five passes for 132 yards
(including an 86-yarder) in Sunday's loss
to the Panthers. If Colston is somehow a
free agent in your league, it's time to
grab him because he has clearly developed
a strong rapport with QB Drew Brees. |
|
Had his first career 100-yard game Sunday
night with 3 catches for 108 yards and
a touchdown. Berrian has shown consistency
along with his explosive ability. He gives
Chicago a balanced offensive team that
has not seen a deep threat to stretch
opponents defenses. |
|
HOT
DEFENSE
This is an exceptional defensive team
with big play capabilities throughout
their front seven. The Steelers have really
struggled throwing the ball and San Diego
will take away Pittsburgh's run threat.

NFL
WEEK 5 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Aaron Brooks
|
NOT
QUARTERBACKS
Brooks is
out at least one more game with a torn
pectoral muscle and Andrew Walter will
get his second career NFL start. Neither
one of them are safe plays in any league
that uses just one QB, no matter the matchup. |
|
Green (concussion) returned to the sideline
on Sunday but only in coaching and supportive
roles. He did not suit up and no timetable
has been set for his return, the Kansas
City Star reports. |
|
With coach Dennis Green announcing that
Matt Leinart is Arizona's new starter, Warner
will become the second-string quarterback |
|
NOT
RUNNING BACKS
Ladell Betts has been productive in the
backup running back role and the team
has found more important uses for Duckett's
roster spot on gamedays. |
2. Cedric Benson |
Benson carried the ball 11 times for 37
yards against Seattle after not playing
at all last week. The Bears will need Benson
at some point during the season |
3. Mike Anderson |
With the resurgence of a healthy RB Jamal
Lewis, Anderson's value is strictly as
a handcuff. Baring an injury to Lewis,
Anderson is likely to see a very limited
role.
|
|
NOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
McCardell is, at best, a borderline fantasy
starter at this point. His value could bounce
back as QB Philip Rivers gets more comfortable,
but the 1-2 punch of RBs LaDainian Tomlinson
and Michael Turner have worked pretty well
|
|
Jones said that he suffered the hamstring
injury in Week 4. This information helps
to explain Jones' two-catch, 13 yard performance
against the Redskins. |
|
NOT
TIGHT END
Coach Mike Holmgren expects Stevens
to return to the field for the Week 6
game against St. Louis
|
|
NOT
DEFENSE
Washington's offense has hit its stride
with 67 points in the last two weeks and
will put a great deal of pressure on the
Giants' defense. The G-Men have not generated
the type of pressure needed this year
for a top of the line Defense.
