fantasy FOOTBALL - Week 10 hot & not players
Hot & Not Following Week
9's NFL Games...
If you are in need
of a HOT fantasy football player
these Top Hot players for the week should help
you out if they're in your lineup. If you need
to dump a lame duck on your team, these NOTS
should be them. Fantasy Football always favors
the prepared mind. The more research you do,
and the more HOT players you
have to choose from on your team, the better
your odds are of winning your fantasy football
league outright this year.

WEEK 10 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Damon Huard |
HOT
QUARTERBACKS
or at least
one more week, Huard is a fantasy factor.
Kansas City coach Herm Edwards has decided
that QB Trent Green isn't quite ready
to return to the lineup, so Huard gets
the start against Miami. |
|
Garrard's value will be tied to his
ability to do a lot with a little. With
QB Byron Leftwich (ankle) still on the
shelf and the Jaguars mounting a consistent
run game, Garrard won't throw it 40 times
-- but will have the advantage of picking
his spots. |
|
HOT
RUNNING BACKS
If there's one thing fantasy owners can
depend on it's that the Colts' run defense
will make any running back look good.
Thomas will likely get the start in place
of injured RB Willis McGahee and should
produce fantasy-worthy numbers against
a Colts' run defense allowing opponents
5.3 yards per carry. |
|
As the Dolphins have become more competitive,
Brown's fantasy output has increased.
Over the Dolphins' last three games, Brown
is averaging 5.19 yards per carry. With
a so-so Chiefs' run defense on tap for
this week, Brown's hot streak should continue. |
3. Maurice Morris |
Nice outing for Morris vs. the Raiders,
he'll get one more start this week vs.
the Rams. With RB Shaun Alexander expected
to return next week, the backup's minutes
will dry up. Keep Morris as an insurance
policy for Alexander but be prepared to
stash him on your bench. |
4. Steven Jackson |
What a day for St. Louis standout, as
he notched 13 catches for 133 yards to
go along with his 86 yards rushing and
a touchdown. The road gets a little tough
against Seattle this week, but don't even
think about sitting him.
|
|
Parker should see plenty of daylight at
the line of scrimmage and force New Orleans'
defensive backs to make tackles in the open
field. Bill Cowher will look to take some
of the pressure off of QB Ben Roethlisberger
who's been pressing in recent weeks so expect
Parker to get 20+ carries. |
|
HOT
WIDE RECEIVERS
Walker has just started hitting his
stride in Denver, with three TDs last
week against the Steelers and two 100-yard
games in his last three outings. He will
try to burn the Raiders' aggressive man-to-man
defense for another nice game. |
|
With Amani Toomer (ACL) out for the remainder
of the season, Carter should see a significant
playing time increase as the team's likely
No. 2 receiver. Though WR Plaxico Burress
and TE Jeremy Shockey figure to dominate
balls in the passing game, Carter may be
worth a pickup in deep receiver leagues.
|
|
Coming off a monster game last week, Henderson
should continue to play a significant
role in the Saints' passing game. New
Orleans' QB Drew Brees has a luxury of
riches in the passing game and the Steelers'
secondary will struggle to keep all of
New Orleans' playmakers under wraps.
|
|
HOT
TIGHT ENDS
Gonzo's production relies significantly
on the effective running of RB Larry Johnson
and the veteran tight end's fantasy numbers
have taken off in recent weeks as defenses
have been forced to commit more defenders
to the run. No reason to expect that script
to change this week. |
|
HOT DEFENSES
Green Bay opponents have had less luck
getting to QB Brett Favre because of a
rallying Packers run game. Minnesota is
different. Penetration kills Green Bay's
zone-blocking run scheme, and penetration
is one of the things Vikings DTs Pat Williams
and Kevin Williams do best. |

WEEK 10 FANTASY FOOTBALL HOT & NOT
PLAYERS |
1. Matt Leinart |
NOT
QUARTERBACKS
Leinart shouldn't
expect much time to throw, which will
depress his stats. The Cardinals have
not protected Leinart well enough or long
enough for him to regularly find his playmaking
wide receivers. |
|
If New York's run game gets stuck in neutral
against New England, Pennington won't make
headway either. |
|
NOT
RUNNING BACKS
Jordan might have a little bit of a chance
if the Raiders ever stuck with the run.
A combination of injuries, bad blocking
and falling behind every week have put Jordan
on track for a horrible season. |
|
In a matchup against one of the NFL's
most dominant run defenses, Washington
will find little running room. New England's
front seven is an experienced and hard-hitting
unit and will pose a serious problem for
the Jets' offensive line. |
3. Dominic Rhodes |
Rhodes has little to worry about from a
mediocre Bills' run defense; it's the rookie
standing next to him on the sidelines who's
sapping his fantasy potential. |
4. Cadillac Williams |
Williams may see a slight increase in
production -- the interior of the Panthers'
front seven has been inconsistent in recent
weeks -- but he's still far from being
a fantasy option.
|
|
NOT WIDE
RECEIVERS
Toomer was having a good season, but will
miss the rest of the year with a serious
knee injury. If you were counting on his
production, you will need to find another
option. |
|
Williams' free fall continues as he keeps
losing chances and catches. Williams started
the season well but has just two catches
total for 26 yards in the last two games
and is a long shot to suddenly turn things
around. |
|
New York's ground game faces a daunting
matchup against the Patriots' talented
front seven and Cotchery and the team's
passing game should pace the offense. |
|
NOT
TIGHT END
Smith could be a popular target for QB
Bruce Gradkowski in the middle of the
field -- the Tampa tight end matches up
well with Carolina's safeties and linebackers
|
|
NOT
DEFENSE
With Cincinnati unable even to prey
on weak offenses, what's the Bengals'
plan against San Diego? |
|
The Bills will pound away at Indy's terrible
run defense with veteran RB Anthony Thomas
and keep Losman on a short leash, leaving
the Colts' secondary with few turnover
opportunities.
