1. Playing Other Hands
Most hands not included in the discussions above should be routinely mucked regardless of position, although some can be played situationally. Hands like K9o, Q9o, and suited two-gappers like J8s and T7s are only worth a call in situations where the potential return is very rich, and the texture of the action before you and the players yet to act behind you indicate it's not going to cost you too much to see the flop.

Unsuited connectors and gappers are marginal situational players only. Hands in this category include hands often played by weak players like T9o, T8o, J9o, 98o, 97o and 87o. I've entered pots with all these hands. But over 99% of the time I've been dealt these hands they've hit the muck before the flop in any position. Ax offsuit should generally not be played, period. Way too many players play any ace in any situation, and it costs them bunches. It may be playable in blind robbing situations, but the situation has to be exactly right. This hand loses more money than any other hand in hold'em, because of its propensity to be in kicker trouble. When you flop an ace and are outkicked, you have only three cards to win with (discounting other outs that may exist such as straights or flushes.) The weakness of this hand is compounded by the fact that players who will take this trash to the flop are also players who if they hit the ace will marry the hand and stay until the end, sometimes playing it aggressively and putting in extra volume. The odds of turning this hand into a profitable situation are long and getting involved with it at all is seldom correct.

To play any of these hands the situation must be very strong. Passing all these types of hands cannot be too bad of an error. They are seldom worth a call. Against a small number of weak opponents or in a particularly rich volume situation there may sometimes be a case for a call. That said if you throw them all away, you can't be too far wrong, ever! Unless you have a lot of experience in the game when in doubt, throw these out.
