Another great week is in the books
for NFL fantasy football. Well bad week that is
if you don't own the Seahawks Defense, or Chris
Chambers, or do, but didn't have them in your lineups...what
were you thinking???
Week 13 was a relatively quiet week
with regard to injuries. Many players gave owners
brief scares with hand, ankle, knee, and hammy concerns,
but all battled through to the end. Here's a quick
list of guys getting dinged up on Sunday; Braylon
Edwards (CLE) - Knee injury, Bubba Franks (GB) -
Arm stinger, ,Gus Frerotte (MIA) - Concussion, Mewelde
Moore (MIN) - Sprained ankle, LaDainian Tomlinson
(SD) - Rib injury, Erron Kinney (TEN) - Knee sprain,
Roydell Williams (TEN) - Wrist sprain. ...............

QB Reports:
Week 13 - Once again at the top of the QB
leaderboard for the umpteenth week in a row
its Carson Palmer. Cincinnati gets that big
Steeltown Monkey off their back. This was
a great game where we saw the new kids play
king of the mountain and take out the old
top dogs. Great to see Palmer has control
of his offense and just plain dialed up the
Steelers CB's. As the Bengals demonstrated
Sunday, their very balanced offense is too
difficult to stop for even some of the best
defenses.
The other QB in this shootout on Sunday was
Big Ben. He didn't fare quite as well throwing
3 picks, but his 3 TD's, and huge yardage
day is always good for fantasy stats right?
For one magical quarter on Sunday, J.P. Losman
and Lee Evans looked like the second coming
of Jim Kelly and Andre Reed. The Buffalo QB/WR
combo connected for three early first-quarter
TDs in what was an eventual loss at Miami.
Was this Losman's coming out party? (waiver
wire)
All Payton did versus the Titans was throw
for 3 TD's, nothing wagered nothing gained
right? Don't we nearly expect this from him?
Brad Johnson has won all five of his starts,
and appears to be making better use of a questionable
supporting cast than Daunte Culpepper did.
He has thrown five TD passes in his past two
games

L. Johnson, KAN
149 yds, 2 TD
C. Portis, WAS

M. Anderson, DEN

R. Johnson, CIN

Running Backs Report:
Week 13 - Whats missing from this
list? Yup you guessed it. L.T., Alexander
the Great, and The Edge. How does that grab
you? We haven't seen all three of them not
on the RB stud list in about 500 years.
Put Foster in your starting lineup and leave
him there. He's a stud #2 back for you the
rest of the way. As I'm assuming you have
a decent #1 ahead of him. DeShaun Foster is
undoubtedly Carolina's go-to back now. Stephen
Davis had just five carries for eight yards
against the spotty Atlanta run defense.
I know you aren't taking Johnson out of your
lineup either right? I feel so bad for people
that drafted Priest in Round 1 but failed
to grab Johnson later in the draft...how many
times do I need to tell you this??? Right
now, Johnson is arguably the best player in
fantasy football. The incredible running back
surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark Sunday
and also ran for at least 100 yards in his
fifth straight game, a streak he'll look to
continue next week at Dallas.
Did Portis do enough to warrant another start?
I for one am not sure. I've flipped him in
and out of my starting lineup for 3 weeks
with Chris Brown as my #2 back depending on
the matchup, well at least I keep guessing
right?
The dreaded RBBC in Denver. If you absolutely
have to choose between the three, we'd play
it safe and go with Anderson, who remains
the starter. IN Bengal land ( I did type Bungle
first) Rudi is back on form. Rudi chipped
in 98 yards rushing and 2 td's. So much for
Chad Johnson's new td celebration
Fantasy
Wide Receivers
Key
Stats
L. Evans, BUF

B. Edwards, CLE

H. Ward, PIT

T. Houshmandzadeh,
CIN

C. Chambers, MIA

A. Boldin, ARI

K. Robinson, MIN

Wideouts Report:
Week 13 - This is nearly crazy. Usually in
fantasy football we see more good running
back performances as the season winds down,
not fantasy Wideout breakout games??!! What
the fock gives??
Stud of the WEEK: Chris
Chambers: Just two weeks ago, Chambers was
held to just three catches for 12 yards. Now
he has 100-yard games in consecutive weeks,
including setting team records in receptions
and yards this week. Chambers had maybe the
best game of his career, 15 catches for 238
yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins 21 point
comeback win over Buffalo on Sunday, capped
by Chambers fourth down TD catch with six
seconds left in the game. Throw in a few drops,
even a big one early in the Dolphins' game-winning
drive, but it is games like this that have
people scratching their heads as to why he
hasn't had a 1,000 yard season yet. It's a
real shame that Browns rookie WR Braylon Edwards
(right) hurt his knee Sunday, because in the
past few weeks, he has appeared well on his
way to earning potential breakout status for
2006 fantasy football drafts. Now we'll be
lucky to see him in camp in August.
Ward of the Steelers and Housh of the Bengals
were their respective teams top wideouts on
Sunday. Chad Johnson was basically a no-show.
Housh who had another great performance against
a division rival (88 yards, two touchdowns
Sunday against the Steelers) finds himself
among the top-five in fantasy production among
wide receivers over the past three weeks.
Our breakout player of the week:
Lee Evans of the Bills. Him and Chambers
really put on a catching clinic. The Bills
started the game with 3 touchdowns in the
first quarter. The Dolphins end the game with
3 touchdowns in the final quarter. Somewhere
in the middle, there was a FG. The Bills second-year
wideout caught five passes for 117 yards and
three touchdowns. According to CBS Sportsline,
Evans is still available in 43 percent of
fantasy leagues. He can be relied upon as
a #3 receiver for your playoff run depending
on the match-up.
In Arizona Anquan Boldin appears to be back.
What a run after the catch touchdown he had
against the Niners on Sunday. Truly amazing.
Boldin has averaged over nine catches and
125 yards in his last three games since returning
from a knee injury.
Heeee'sss Baaaackkkk - KROB (Koren Robinson)
as he was called in Seattle has apparently
put down the booze, and the gotten off the
booze cruise to become Brad Johnson's favorite
target as of late in Minni. Start him this
week against a Rams defense that can’t
stop anyone.
TIGHT
ENDS
Key
Stats
C. Cooley, WAS
58 yds, 1 TD
A. Gates, SDG
51 yds, 1 TD
T. Gonzalez, KAN
25 yds, 1 TD
Tight Ends Report
- Week 13 - Nothing special here
at all. Cooley became the first Redskin to
ever catch 50 passes or some meaningless statistic,
but as for Gates and Gonzo they each had a
TD. Gonzo's came on his only catch. He was
just invisible the whole game. Thanks A$$-Dart.

Studs & Duds Week 13
NFL
FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEKLY DUDS - WEEK 13
Fantasy Dud News: Dud Of the Week:
Jamal Lewis. Ya ya I'm sure there are others
that belong here, but CMON. Are you kidding
me? They played the Texans ok? Lewis carried
eight times for 17 yards and added three catches
for 23 yards in Sunday's win over the Texans.
How do spell C-H-E-S-T-E-R?
Anquan Boldin has now surpassed the 100-yard
mark in three consecutive games. Michael Bennett
has scored all three of his 2005 TDs (rushing/receiving)
against Detroit. Willis McGahee has not scored
in his past six games. Randy Moss has not
reached the 100-yard receiving mark in his
past eight games after beginning the season
with three 100-yard outings in his first four
games. Jake Plummer has not thrown more than
one TD pass in five of his past six games.
2 Possible Team D's to grab this week could
be the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks.
(obviously after last night).
The Packers defense has been a pleasant surprise
in 2005, considering entering the season most
considered them to be the laughingstock of
the league. The Green Bay defense has single-handedly
kept the team in most games, including last
week when they held Bears QB Kyle Orton to
just 68 yards passing.
Seattle is starting a mash unit but they
keep clicking. Injuries to 3/4 of their starting
DB's, plus Jamie Sharper have been out for
a while. This week they get the 49ers at home,
and I'm sure you saw what the crowd in Seattle
did to the Giants right? Plus after last night's
game the Hawks are a top 5 FFL defense now,
and they also put up the most pts in fantasy
of any player this year, from what I can find??!!
Have a good week folks. DaveB
