WEEK 5 NFL Power Rankings

Four teams went into Week 4 undefeated . . . and those same four teams will also go into Week 5 undefeated. The Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Washington Redskins each continued their perfect seasons on Sunday. The Colts blew out the Tennessee Titans 31-10, while the Bengals (16-10 over the Houston Texans), Bucs (17-13 over the Detroit Lions), and Redskins (20-17 over the Seattle Seahawks in overtime) each squeaked out their Week 4 victories.

Will we also have four undefeated teams heading into Week 6 of the season? In order for that to happen, each of the Colts, Bengals, Bucs, and Redskins will have to pick up road victories this Sunday. Indianapolis should have the easiest time with their Week 5 opponent, as they play in San Francisco versus the 49ers. Meanwhile, the Bucs travel to New York to face the Jets, the Bengals take on the Jaguars down in Jacksonville, and the Redskins climb the Rocky Mountains to take on the Denver Broncos.

While four teams haven't lost SU in the NFL this season, there are no longer any undefeated ATS teams. Four teams sit with 3-1 ATS records (Bengals, Jaguars, Giants, and Falcons), while several more are 2-1 against-the-spread (Dolphins, Steelers, Browns, Redskins, Bears, and Lions). The Broncos and Chargers are both 2-1-1 ATS on the year. The worst teams to place your money on so far this season have been the Bills, Jets, Ravens, Texans, Cowboys, Vikings, Panthers, Rams, and Cardinals, all of whom have only one ATS win through Week 4.

Why do we do this? Why do the NFL power rankings even matter? Well let me tell you!!! They don't! But we still love NFL power rankings anyways. If Week 4 is just as crazy, watch for the next edition of the rankings to show some serious movement.

2-2-0	7	Patriots		Should we start getting worried about the Patriots? They've allowed 108 points through four games.
3-1-0	8	Broncos		Surprised the Jaguars in Jacksonville last week, and seem to have rebounded from their Week 1 setback.
3-0-0	9	Redskins		Have put up only 43 points in their three games so far, yet managed to pick up a win all three times.
2-2-0	10	Chargers		Pounded the defending champions 41-17 last week, in New England to boot. Steelers come to town Monday night.
3-1-0	11	Giants		The offense is on a roll; scored 44 points in their win over the Rams, and have put up 136 points over four games.
2-2-0	12	Panthers		Intimidated by Brett Favre on Monday Night Football? Nope, and the Panthers are now back at the .500 mark.
2-2-0	13	Jaguars		Could only muster a single touchdown on Sunday versus the Broncos, and get the streaking Bengals this week.
2-2-0	14	Seahawks		Edged by the Redskins in Washington last week, dropping them to .500, but they're still tied atop the NFC West.
2-2-0	15	Chiefs		Instead of improving to 3-1 and looking like an elite team, they crumbled versus the Eagles and fell to .500.
2-2-0	16	Rams		Trounced by the Giants in New York last week, dropping them to .500, but they're still tied atop the NFC West.
2-1-0	17	Dolphins		Sit atop the AFC East division after their bye week; can stay there with a win over the Bills this weekend.
1-2-0	18	Ravens		A date with the Jets' third-string quarterback was just what the doctor ordered as the Ravens picked up win No. 1.
2-2-0	19	Saints		The Alamodome treated them well; improved their record to 2-2 by topping the Bills in San Antonio last week.
2-2-0	20	Cowboys		Were down 10-3 to the Raiders at halftime on Sunday, and couldn't recover. Host the Eagles in Week 5 action.
1-2-0	21	Lions		Almost staged a late comeback versus the Bucs last week, but two near-touchdowns were called out of bounds.
1-3-0	22	Vikings		Held the Falcons to only 88 passing yards in Week 4, but were still routed 30-10. Troubling times in Minnesota.
1-3-0	23	Jets		Brooks Bollinger went 14-of-28 for 149 yards in his start last week. Vinny Testaverde might get a shot next.
1-3-0	24	Bills		It's still not going well for J.P. Losman - he went 7-for-15 for 75 yards passing in their Week 4 loss to New Orleans.
1-2-0	25	Bears		Got a bye to regroup from their Week 3 loss; get a great chance to improve to .500 this week versus Cleveland.

1-3-0	27	Raiders		Held on to beat the Cowboys 19-13 last week, which was the Raiders' first win of the Randy Moss era.
1-3-0	28	Cardinals		They didn't miss Kurt Warner last week; Josh McCown went 32-of-46 for 385 yards passing and two touchdowns.
1-3-0	29	Titans		Were the victim of Peyton Manning's breakout game last week, getting torched for 31 points in Tennessee.
1-3-0	30	49ers		Alex Smith saw some more time in their Mexico City loss to the Cardinals, but he didn't get much support.
