There you have it. Another whacky NFL Fantasy Football
week in the books and yet another week where everything
that I possibly imagined happening in my leagues
and probably yours happened, and if it could go
wrong for most fantasy experts, it DID go wrong.
However not for me. I was 3-1 in my fantasy leagues,
and I didn’t do to shabby in Best Buy’s
either. Two weeks ago I wrote Favre and the Packers
are sucking crack heading into this week so one
would expect a collapse on the road in a dome (where
Favre always struggles). What do we get? Packer
domination. Well we got it again. The wimpboys were
no match for the Pack at Lambeau, Favre looked magical.
He put in his third best fantasy football game of
the year, and Javon Walker owners are happy as well.
If gamblers in our NFL sportsbooks are struggling
the opposite could be said for The Jags. Great victory
over Payton and the shoving QB Colts. Reggie Wayne
needs to pull his head of his A$$ and figure out
its ok to throw to Marvin. Typical MIAMI WR. Chiefs
smoked the Falcons in a no contest, Steve McNair
is not Steve McNair, Matt Hasselsuck is doing just
that, and I’m starting to see a trend. Harrington,
Carr, Brees, Palmer, Leftwich, are all having good
fantasy years, and the affore mentioned studs are
quickly turning into duds. 4 INT's...detecting a
trend? Raiders lose at home to New Suckleans with
that Defense? Cleveland takes Phili to OT and almost
pulls it out with their twin backs Willie Green
and Lee Suggs? I'm afraid to ask what's next. All
I learned this week is I don't know what I think
I know, I know that I don't know what I thought
I know, and never ever give up hope on your fantasy
team even when your opponent needs 3 pts for the
win (1 catch of 11 yds or more in my league) to
win the week and Rod Smith pulls up lame for a Quarter
and a half sealing my victory and a 6-1 victory
over the guy that was in first. Oh my Fantasy Football
is sweet !!!!!
Possibly Add these Guys
RB Brad Hoover, CAR -Filling
in for the injured Davis, Hoover racked up 99 yards
with a consistent power-style of running. With Davis'
injury lingering, Hoover makes a nice pickup for
those in need of a fill-in RB.
WR Anquan Boldin, ARI - Boldin
is almost ready to make his return from knee surgery.
He could be back on the field as early as this week
so if he is still a free agent in your league make
sure you pick him up.
WR Keenan McCardell, SD - Easily the best player
traded for at the deadline. He's clearly the top
WR in San Diego and he could become a borderline
#2 fantasy WR.
RB Sammy Morris, MIA - If you
didn't get him last week and he is still available,
grab him now. He's had two solid weeks in a row.
With Minor coming back he could see his production
drop a little but he’s still worthy of a spot
in your lineup if you are looking to fill a bye-week
hole.
RB Derrick Blaylock, KC - Thankfully
Priest's ankle sprain is mild and he should be all
right but Blaylock proved he's a worthy backup.
Hand-cuff him now before someone else picks him
up.
WR Justin McCareins, NYJ - Caught
six balls this weekend and should start picking
up the slack for the under-achieving Santana Moss.
TE Ben Troupe, TEN - He had a
couple of drops but he's very athletic for a tight
end and with the injuries to Kinney and Meier and
the sheer fact that tight ends are a fantasy crapshoot
this year, he's worth a look.
TE Doug Jolley, OAK ––
Granted his big game came against a soft Saints
defense but any TE who produces is worthy of a roster
spot.
K - Neil Rackers, ARI - Three
field goals of 50 plus is impressive.
QB Billy Volek - Looked like crap
Sunday, but the Titans play the Bengals next week.
Owners of Garthia, Brooks, and Bulger take note
– Volek might be a good bye week fill-in next
week.
WR Keenan McCardell - Everyone
knew he was a good WR, and that he just needed to
get in the game. Looks like the Bolts don’t
miss a step after losing Caldwell.
These guys…….I’m
just not sure of, but basically they suck
QB Michael Vick - Trade bait.
I don’t see him doing much of anything in
the West Coast Offense, at least for this year.
It’s a pretty complex system to pick up and
the rule of thumb is 3 years before a QB gets it
down. Might want to investigate getting some value
out of this guy now, before it’s too late.
QB Josh McCown, ARI - Wait and
See - McCown looked good this past week and with
Boldin set to return either this week or next, McCown
could make a surprising second-half sleeper.
WR Peerless Price, ATL –
Wait and See - This might be drastic but with the
way Vick is playing Dunn and Crumpler are the only
two Falcons that should find their ways into your
lineup. If your roster is thin, Price may just be
eating up a precious spot but if you can afford
to hold onto him then go ahead and do so.
WR David Terrell, CHI - Drop -
Zero catches this past weekend and with the QB carousel
going on in Chicago I don't expect much from him
the rest of the year.
R Randy Hymes, BAL - Drop - Looks
will be cut in half with Travis Taylor back.
QB Jake Delhomme, CAR - Drop
- Feel good story of last year has been awful this
year. There is at least 25 other QBs I'd rather
have right now on my roster.
IDIOT OF THE WEEK AWARD GOES TO
WR Reggie Wayne - Hey Reg? Could
you c’mere a sec? Hey man how’s it goin?
Cool. Wife and kids? That’s great. Hey I called
you over here to tell you that YOU ARE A FOCKING
MORON!!! Shoving your QB? On what alternate plane
is that a good idea??!? Homeboy has only looked
your way on a gazillion passes this year, but kiss
that little meal ticket goodbye now. This guy is
straight-up trade bait at this point. If you don’t
trade him for something decent this week, you’re
gonna be hurting.
