BOWL GAMES FOR DECEMBER

Akron
returns to Detroit after
winning a thrilling MAC
championship game. The
Zips have the MAC's best
defense, and a balanced,
occasionally exciting
offense with good playmakers.
It's the final game for
Memphis RB DeAngelo Williams
as he closes out his College
Football Hall of Fame
career. This is a very,
very important game for
the MAC. The league's
national reputation has
taken a little bit of
a hit, and a loss to a
Conference USA also-ran
could be devastating when
it comes to getting respect
for next year. - Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

Few
teams play more exciting
games than Clemson with
seven games decided by
a touchdown or less. After
missing out on a bowl
game last year thanks
to a kitten fight with
South Carolina, the Tigers
will be fired up. Colorado
is much, much better than
it looked over the last
few weeks of the season.
After getting outscored
100-6 in its last two
games, and 130-22 in its
last three, Colorado needs
a good performance. No
one is giving the Big
12 any respect, so a win
in what will amount to
a road game would do wonders.

Few
offenses are as exciting
as Arizona State's ranking
fourth in the nation in
total offense and 11th
in scoring. When Rutgers
gets on a roll, it can
throw some big points
on the board, the team
is about defense allowing
an impressive 344 yards
per game. How jacked up
will Rutgers be to be
in its first bowl since
the 1978 Garden State
bowl. Who did the Scarlet
Knights play? Arizona
State in a 34-18 Sun Devil
win. This is an important
step for Greg Schiano's
program, but it'll have
to deal with an ASU home
crowd. - Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

Another
year, another WAC championship
for Boise State. Boston
College deserved a much,
much better bowl after
a fantastic first year
in the ACC, but it'll
get all it can handle
from the Bronco team that
doesn't lose at home.
This will very quietly
be one of the bowl season's
better matchups.You don't
need anyone telling you
the screaming blue turf
of Bronco Stadium makes
this one of the year's
must-see bowl watches.

It's
hard to find two more
storied programs playing
in a non-New Year's Day
matchup. Nebraska's passing
game is starting to hit
its stride, while Michigan
should be fully healthy
and ready to show off
all of its firepower.
We can finally settle
the 1997 national title
debate. Yeah, right. Michigan
won their last meeting
(1986 Fiesta Bowl). Michigan
is looking for more respect
after a four loss season.
Nebraska and head coach
Bill Callahan desperately
needs a big win. - Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

Georgia
Tech gets exiled to the
Emerald Bowl, but the
program has been solid
in bowls winning two of
its last three. Utah's
spread offense will give
the Yellow Jackets a few
problems. The Mountain
West could use this win
for national exposure,
while the ACC can't afford
to slip against a Ute
team without head coach
Brian Johnson. The Utes
should be great next year,
and this game should go
a long way for the team's
confidence. - Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

Call
this the land of misfit
teams. For the second
straight year, a spurned
and scorned Pac 10 team
misses out on a BCS game
to be cast off to the
Holiday Bowl. Cal floundered
last year losing to Texas
Tech, but Oregon will
be looking to show that
it belonged in the Fiesta.
Oklahoma can make a big
statement going into 2006,
when it should be back
to being in BCS form.
Adrian Peterson vs. the
Oregon run defense. While
Reggie Bush might be the
nation's top running back
this year, a healthy Peterson
isn't far off. This might
be your first chance to
watch Oregon's great defensive
tackle Haloti Ngata, the
leader of a strong Duck
run defense. - Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

Can
Minnesota's fantastic
running game rumble on
the Virginia linebackers?
The Cavalier defense has
been a little soft, while
Minnesota is second in
the nation rushing he
ball averaging 280 yards
per game. Minnesota has
won three straight bowl
games under head coach
Glen Mason. Virginia's
staff with offensive coordinator
Ron Pierce off to Kansas
State, and defensive coordinator
Al Golden likely off to
be the head man at Temple.
Virginia's 2004 season
ended with a thud losing
to Fresno State in the
MPC Computers Bowl, and
QB Marques Hagans is still
ticked off about that
game.- Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

Offense,
offense, offense. Forgetting
about the disaster of
the USC game, UCLA's offense
is one of the most exciting
in America ranking seventh
in scoring. Northwestern's
attack ranks eighth in
the nation in total offense.
It's not the Rose Bowl,
but it's a more-than-solid
Big Ten-Pac 10 matchup
that'll go a long way
toward comparing and contrasting
the two big conferences.
Northwestern wants to
prove that its season
was no fluke, while UCLA
wants to finish with a
ten-win season. - Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

It's
Steve Spurrier back in
the bowl spotlight with
a solid bowl game and
a chance to finish with
a great first season.
For Missouri, here's a
shot to quiet many of
the critics and take the
head off head man Gary
Pinkel. You don't need
a reason to want to watch
Brad Smith do his thing
in his final game. The
much-maligned Big 12 can
put a huge feather in
its cap with a win over
a solid SEC team. As for
the Gamecocks, ending
the season with a loss
would sour the season
in a big way. - Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

Each
of these teams could easily
be in the BCS and no one
would blink. LSU might
have problems on offense
depending on the status
of QB JaMarcus Russell,
but the defense will be
jacked up after the loss
to Georgia. Miami's defense
is No. 3 in the nation
in total defense and No.
2 in scoring D. These
two teams will be on the
short list for the 2006
national title favorites.
If you believe that bowl
games are the stepping
stone to the following
season, this is an important
battle that could be next
year's national championship
matchup. - Click here for college bowl gambling lines |

There
will be lots of defense
and lots of team speed.
South Florida is off to
its first bowl game since
joining D-I, while NC
State will have a nice
home game with a chance
to show off Mario Williams,
Manny Lawson, Stephen
Tulloch and the rest of
the stars on the nation's
14th ranked defense. While
this is an important statement
game for USF and Jim Leavitt's
program, it's just as
big for the much-maligned
Big East. A win over an
ACC team would do wonders.
