Tech, and the nation's
number one passing offense,
and number two total offense,
face Alabama, and the
nation's number one scoring
defense and number two
total defense. Alabama
is fourth in the nation
in pass defense. There's
a bit of "prove it"
when it comes to these
two. Texas Tech's best
win this year was in a
last-second, controversial
touchdown run against
Oklahoma, while Alabama
lost its final two games
of the season. After the
Tide lost to Minnesota
in last year's Music City
Bowl, this is a must-win.

2004 Outback Bowl in a
37-17 stunner. This year's
Hawkeye team features
one of the nation's best
linebacking corps led
by Chad Greenway and Abdul
Hodge, while Florida looks

the problems and disappointments,
Florida and head coach
Urban Meyer can finish
with a solid nine-win
season and an important
stepping-stone win over
the improving Hawkeyes.
Iowa can use this to create
a buzz going into next
year when it should be

Virginia Tech's great
defense good enough to
keep Michael Bush and

Irons should put on a
great show. You could
make a case that Auburn
was the SEC's best team
at the end of the regular
season. It's going to
have to deal with a fired
up Wisconsin team looking

game. These two played
in the Music City Bowl
two years ago with Auburn
winning 28-14. The Badgers
would love an impressive
win before going into
the Bret Bielema era,
while Auburn wants to
use a win to launch what
should be a huge 2006.

be a close No. 2. They've
only played four times,
with the last meeting
in 1996 with the Buckeyes
winning. By far, this
will be the best defense
Notre Dame faced all year,

Notre Dame is 2-2 against
Ohio State winning two
straight ... in 1935 and
1936. Charlie Weis can
put his stamp on a historical
win by getting past the

PST. The 2006 Rose Bowl
will feature USC and Texas
battling for the National
Championship. The nation's
top two scoring offenses
will be featured in this
epic national championship
clash, but don't be surprised
if the defenses become
the story when Texas and
USC meet in the Rose Bowl
Game Presented by Citi.
Leinart, Bush & Co.
have not seen a defense
this season with the type
of speed that the Longhorns
will unleash on them.
The Trojans' defensive
unit is far less heralded,
but the talented young
group has gotten healthier
and stronger as the season
