Some Handicapping Insight
Rams Brave Green Bay Weather
The Green Bay Packers will put their five-game winning streak
on the line Monday night when the 5-5 St. Louis Rams come
to town.
The 6-4 Packers are tied with the Minnesota Vikings for
first place in the NFC North division.
No spread or total was posted for this game as of Wednesday
morning. Green Bay is 4-5-1 ATS on the year, while the roadies
are 4-6.
Last time out, at Ralph Wilson Stadium against Buffalo,
the Rams as favorites lost to Buffalo 37-17. The game was
a Buffalo cover and an over play.
Mike Sherman's team was busy last game winning against
Houston 16-13 as 3-point favorites. The 29 points sent that
game under the total of 49.
If St. Louis has been ignoring their pass defence in practise
this week, it could prove to be a big mistake. Green Bay
will challenge them with a passing attack that has averaged
281.5 yards per game this season.
Some trends to consider:
St. Louis are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games after scoring
10 to 20 points
St. Louis are 4-16-1 ATS in their last 21 games after being

Final Score: Carolina
21, Tampa Bay 14
Charlotte, NC (Wageronfootball.com
- NFL Picks) - Jake Delhomme threw a 40-yard touchdown pass
to Keary Colbert for the winning score with 20 seconds remaining,
as the Carolina Panthers pulled out a 21-14 victory over
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Bank of America Stadium. Delhomme,
meanwhile, completed 14-of-21 passes for 213 yards with
a pair of scores to Colbert, who had three catches for 72
yards. Nick Goings ran for 106 yards for Carolina (4-7),
which won its third straight game. Brian Griese finished
27-of-39 for 347 yards with a pair of touchdowns and one
interception for the Bucs (4-7), who could have moved back
into playoff contention with a win but instead lost for
only the second time in their last five games.
Final Score: Houston 31,
Tennessee 21
Houston, TX (Wageronfootball.com - NFL Picks) - David Carr
threw for 201 yards and a pair of third-quarter touchdowns
to rally Houston past Tennessee, 31-21, in an AFC South
battle at Reliant Stadium. Carr completed 21-of-30 passes,
including 11-of-13 in the second half, as the Texans (5-6)
fought back from a 21-3 second-quarter deficit to snap a
three-game losing streak. Domanick Davis ran for 129 yards,
including a 41-yard touchdown with 1:34 to play that sealed
Houston's second win over their division rivals this season.
Steve McNair threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns for
the Titans (4-7), but committed three costly second-half
turnovers to aid the Texans' comeback. McNair, who finished
25-of-34 from the air, lost two fumbles and was intercepted
once. Antowain Smith rushed 21 times for 90 yards for Tennessee,
which had won two of three coming in.
Final Score: Minnesota 27, Jacksonville 16
Minneapolis, MN (Wageronfootball.com - NFL Picks) - Daunte
Culpepper ran for a touchdown and threw for a score to Randy
Moss, as the Minnesota Vikings held on for a 27-16 victory
over the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Metrodome. A 77-yard
fumble return for a touchdown by Kevin Williams in the closing
minutes denied another comeback attempt by Jacksonville
and sealed the Minnesota win. Moss was back in the lineup
after missing three full games and most of two others with
a hamstring injury. He started the game and appeared to
move somewhat gingerly at times, but finished with four
catches for 40 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown to
cap a nearly 9 1/2-minute drive to start the third quarter.
Culpepper completed 19-of-27 passes for 235 yards and ran
seven times for an additional 19 yards in the victory. The
Vikings (7-4) have won two straight after a three-game slide
and moved one-half game ahead of Green Bay in the NFC North.
Fred Taylor ran for 147 yards on 22 carries for the Jaguars
(6-5), who have lost two in a row to fall two games behind
first-place Indianapolis in the AFC South. The Jaguars had
quarterback Byron Leftwich back in the starting lineup after
he had missed two games with a knee injury. He completed
19- of-34 passes for 235 yards with a touchdown, but coughed
up the ball with his team in position to post another last-minute
victory.
Final Score: Philadelphia 27, NY Giants 6
East Rutherford, NJ (Wageronfootball.com - NFL Picks) -
Brian Westbrook scored two touchdowns and Donovan McNabb
threw for a score and rushed for another as Philadelphia
captured its fourth straight NFC East title with a 27-6
victory over the New York Giants. David Akers kicked two
field goals for the Eagles (10-1), who became only the fifth
team to clinch a division title in 11 games since the 16-game
schedule was implemented in 1978. Andy Reid tied Greasy
Neale for the franchise record with his 66th victory as
the Eagles head coach. Reid is now 66-34 overall since taking
over in 1999. The Eagles' defense, which has not allowed
a touchdown in the last two games, sacked Giants rookie
quarterback Eli Manning five times and picked off two passes.
McNabb finished with 244 yards on 18-of-27 passing and rushed
five times for 30 yards. Westbrook gained 74 yards on the
ground and added five receptions for 53 yards. Manning,
making his second career start, struggled to a 6-of-21 performance
for 148 yards. Steve Christie accounted for all the scoring
with a pair of field goals for New York (5-6), which has
lost four straight. Tiki Barber rushed for 110 yards on
19 carries in the loss, despite suffering a leg injury and
sitting out for several series.
Final Score: Cincinnati 58, Cleveland 48
Cincinnati, OH (Wageronfootball.com - NFL Picks) - Rudi
Johnson rushed for a career-high 202 yards and two touchdowns,
including the go-ahead score, helping the Cincinnati Bengals
to a 58-48 victory over the Cleveland Browns in the highest
scoring game since the 1970 merger. Washington and the New
York Giants still hold the mark for the most combined points
in league history via the Redskins' 72-41 victory on November
27, 1966. Carson Palmer overcame three interceptions to
throw four touchdown passes for the first time in his young
career as the Bengals (5-6) picked up their third win in
four games. Chad Johnson had 10 catches for 117 and a score
while T.J. Houshmandzadeh had two touchdown receptions.
The Browns (3-8), losers of five straight, could have easily
folded on a number of occasions but fought hard for embattled
head coach Butch Davis after week-long rumors of his imminent
firing. Kelly Holcomb, making his first start of the year,
also reached a personal milestone with five scoring tosses
in place of the injured Jeff Garcia. Holcomb finished 30-of-39
for 413 yards with two interceptions
Final Score: San Diego 34, Kansas City 31
Kansas City, MO (Wageronfootball.com - NFL Picks) - Nate
Kaeding kicked a 43-yard field goal with 2:24 left in the
fourth quarter to lift San Diego to a thrilling 34-31 win
over Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium. Drew Brees went 28-of-37
for a career-high 378 yards with two touchdowns for the
Chargers (8-3), who have won five straight games. San Diego
now leads the Broncos by one game in the AFC West Division
as Denver fell to the Raiders Sunday. The two frontrunners
in the division will square off next Sunday in San Diego.
Antonio Gates had seven receptions for 92 yards and two
scores while Kassim Osgood also had 92 receiving yards for
the Chargers, who snapped a seven-game losing streak in
Kansas City. LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for only 46 yards,

in the win.

Pittsburgh, PA (Wageronfootball.com - NFL Picks) - Jerome
Bettis ran for 100 yards and a touchdown to lead Pittsburgh
over Washington, 16-7, at Heinz Field. Ben Roethlisberger

(10-1), who are off to their first 10-1 start since 1975
when the team finished 12-2 and won Super Bowl X. Pittsburgh
has an NFL-best nine-game win streak. Patrick Ramsey was
19-of-34 for 138 yards with a touchdown and an interception
for the Redskins (3-8), who suffered their fourth loss in
five games. Steelers running back Duce Staley missed his
fourth straight game with a bruised hamstring allowing Bettis
to reach the 100-yard make in four consecutive contests.
In the four games in Staley's absence, Bettis has rushed
for 481 yards and has 11 touchdowns on the season.
Final Score: Atlanta 24, New Orleans 21
Atlanta, GA (Wageronfootball.com - NFL Picks) - Michael
Vick connected with Alge Crumpler for a 20-yard touchdown
toss with only 1:22 remaining in the fourth quarter to lift

with the score in the win. Aaron Brooks completed 19-of-34
passes for 189 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions

carries, while Joe Horn caught nine passes for 101 yards
with a touchdown in the loss.
Final Score: New England 24, Baltimore 3

rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown, as the New England
Patriots easily handled the Baltimore Ravens, 24-3, at Gillette
Stadium. Adam Vinatieri had three field goals and Jarvis
Green recovered a fumble for a score for the Patriots (10-1),
who have won four straight contests and remain two games
up on the New York Jets atop the AFC East. The Jets beat
the Arizona Cardinals Sunday. Baltimore (7-4) had a three-game
winning streak halted and fell three games behind the AFC
North- leading Pittsburgh Steelers. New England's defense
dominated the game, which was played in pouring rain and
on a mud-filled field. The Ravens had just 124 total yards
in the contest, and were outscored by New England's defense,
7-3. Dillon recorded his sixth 100-yard rushing game of
the season, a career high. Tom Brady was 15-of-30 for 172
yards, with no touchdowns and no turnovers in the win.
Final Score: Miami 24, San Francisco 17
San Francisco, CA (Wageronfootball.com - NFL Picks) - A.J.
Feeley threw a pair of touchdown passes, including one to
Randy McMichael in the fourth quarter that put Miami in

for 159 yards and was intercepted once. Derrick Pope scored
on a fumble recovery in the closing minutes to seal the
win for Miami (2-9). Chris Chambers also caught a touchdown
pass for the Dolphins, who halted a three-game losing streak
and gave interim head coach Jim Bates his first NFL victory.
San Francisco quarterback Tim Rattay completed 23-of-38
passes for 181 yards. He was sacked eight times and lost
a pair of fumbles. Derek Smith accounted for one of the
49ers' touchdowns when he returned a fumble for a score
early in the fourth quarter. Maurice Hicks added a late

six in a row.

game's first possession. He missed three series, then completed
seven of his eight pass attempts in the second half to finish
8-of-12 for 133 yards. Moss had five catches for 109 yards
in all for the Jets (8-3), winners of back-to-back games
since dropping three of their previous four. Curtis Martin
added 99 yards on 24 carries and Doug Brien accounted for
the rest of New York's scoring with a pair of field goals.
The Cardinals (4-7), losers of two in a row, weren't the

with one touchdown and three interceptions, as Buffalo (5-6)
has defeated consecutive NFC West opponents. Matt Hasselbeck
ended 19-of-38 for 185 yards with a touchdown and an interception
for Seattle (6-5), which has dropped two of three. Shaun
