ONLINE GAMBLING - In order to
stay abreast of what's happening in this industry,
I make a conscious effort to read any and every gambling
related article that I can get my hands on. In doing
so, one thing has become increasingly clear to me:
the mainstream media have no intention of reporting
a positive gambling related story.
Instead, they remain content
to report only the negative aspects of gambling &
offshore sportsbetting without even bothering to investigate
the positive.
Addiction, bankruptcy and even
murder have been blamed on gambling, and though I'm
not saying that these media outlets are printing lies,
they fail to mention that millions of people are having
good clean responsible fun and not hurting anybody
in the process.
Why don't we see articles in
the mainstream media about the guy who won $20,000
playing the slots and bought his son a new car? How's
that any different from the guy who won the lottery
and makes the front page of my daily newspaper? It's
not like some people aren't addicted to buying lottery
tickets - it just doesn't get reported. So why can't
the gambling industry get some bright light?
For most, visiting a casino offshore
sportsbetting or gambling online is just another form
of entertainment. Some people enjoy going to the movies,
while some enjoy fine dining. Some choose to spend
their money on attending sporting events, while some.....enjoy
going to the casino! What's the difference whether
I choose to spend my entertainment dollars on going
to the movies or visiting the casino? There isn't.
Next time you win big at
the casino or online, try sending a press release
to your local paper and see if they pick up the story.
I bet you $100 they don't. And if they do, we'll play
double or nothing. Wait, do I have a problem? Somebody
call a reporter!!!
