Romney Stadium
Utah State's Romney Stadium features beautiful views of
the surronding mountains from every side of the stadium.
The 31-year old facility features natural grass, lights,
chairback seats on the west side, and was expanded with
the addition of bleacher seats ahead of the 1999 season.
USU also added new scoreboards and an improved sound system
prior to the 1999 campaign.
Romney Stadium is currently under construction. The Southeast
entrance will be finished before the 2005 season. For details

The Scotsman: Fable
A large Cornish Pump with 70 ton flywheel and standing
30 feet tall with a capacity of four million gallons was
used to pump water out of the mine. One day as the story
goes, the pump stopped working flooding the mine. The mine
superintendent called out for a Scotsman in town who could
reputedly fix the pump. When the Scotsman arrived he was
carrying a large sledgehammer. As the miners watched, he
climbed on the pump with the sledgehammer in hand, and studied
it for a good five minutes. Then he raised the hammer and
whacked a spot on the flywheel. Immediately, the pump resumed
working. The Scotsman went home and sent the superintendent
a bill for $1000 dollars. The superintendent was stunned.
"A thousand dollars for five minutes work He told the
accountant to send it back and have him itemize his bill"
Back came the bill from the Scotsman, itemized.

Utah State Campus
Just over a century ago Cache Valley settlers had a dream—a
lofty dream of bringing education to the rural masses, an
almost unheard of idea at the time. With high hopes and
scarce resources patched together from pioneer thrift, the
Agricultural College of Utah opened its doors in 1888 to
a handful of students.
The "AC" was created through the Morrill Act
of 1862, which sought to provide a democratic education
nationwide, to be Utah’s land-grant institution, a
charter that has led to groundbreaking research and global
dissemination of those findings.
Today, Utah State University welcomes nearly 22,000 students
each year to its main campus in Logan and to time-enhanced
learning centers throughout the state. Since 1989, nearly
4,500 students have received degrees through the University’s
distance education component. Whereas students could choose
from five majors or career options in 1888, today’s
students select from 230 options offered in 45 departments
housed in seven colleges: Agriculture, Business, Education,
Engineering, Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, Natural
Resources, and Science.
About 80 percent of our students are living away from home
on this residential campus and in nearby private housing.
They are treated to abundant sport and recreation opportunities
on campus and near campus.
