The key in this
match-up will be whether or not Jessica Simpson
shows up. If she does, then bet heavily on
the Giants money-line. Okay, I’m
just kidding! But as an NFL bettor we can’t
deny facts and the fact remains that Romo has
problems playing in front of his lovers.
I have my own mean
beliefs regarding that, but this isn’t the forum for it. Instead, let’s
look at some trends regarding these two evenly
matched teams.
The Dallas Cowboys are 10-4-1 against the spread
in their last 15 games on grass.
The New York Giants are 8 and 3 against the
spread in their last 11 games versus a team from
the NFC.
The New York Giants were 7 and 1 against the
spread in their 8 away games this season.
The old adage is
that it is very difficult for a team to beat
another team three times in one season. I actually
agree with that. But that’s
not the reason I’m calling the upset in
this game.
The reason I’m calling the upset is because
I just haven’t had a lot of faith in the
Cowboys’ defense this year. I believe that
the 3-4 they play will get exploited by a Giants’ offense
that’s playing at a very high-level at
this time of the year.
The Giants have moved the ball well the past
two weekends. First, they did an excellent job
against the New England Patriots. Then, just
last Sunday they went down to Tampa Bay and did
a job on one of the better defenses in the NFL.
The Cowboys offense,
as good as it is, might have some issues as
I’m not convinced that
Terrell Owens is one-hundred percent in this
game. Without Terrell the Giants’ pass
rush, led by Michael Strahan and Osi Umeyiora
can dominate in this game. Romo can make things
happen, but the truth is that the Cowboys feel
a lot better when he’s allowed to settle
in the pocket and deliver strikes to Owens and
Cowboys tight-end Jason Witten.
Getting back to
the Cowboys D - - nothing bad to say about
them. I just don’t think that
their strong safety, Roy Williams, is all that
good in coverage. Plaxico Burress, the Giants’ wide
receiver, and Eli Manning, the Giants’ quarterback,
have been on the same page lately. They should
be able to exploit the edges going short because
of Williams’s lack of coverage ability.
Throw-out the first two games between these
two teams. Eli is stepping it up in the playoffs

Make no mistake,
friends, taking the Giants and the money-line
is a definite gamble, but in my eyes it’s
a gamble worth taking.
