Bet on NFL - Patriot’s Beware Defense Against the Run Will Be Your Undoing

Congratulations
to the New England Patriots for finishing the
season at a terrific 16 and 0. But I’m
not ready to anoint these guys as Super Bowl
Champions just yet. One of the things I noticed
during their performance versus the New York
Giants is that they have serious issues when
it comes to stopping the run.
There are two potential
obstacles that the Patriots may face in their
run to 19 – 0 and a Super
Bowl: the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Indianapolis
Colts.
Let’s take
a look at why the Colts and Jags are both designed
to beat the Patriots.
Jacksonville
Jaguars (BetUS odds to win Super Bowl - - 14
to 1) = The Jags have two stellar running backs in
Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor. Fred Taylor
who’s going to his
very first Pro Bowl this year, after running
for over 10,000 yards in his career, is as healthy
as he has ever been. The Jags also have a quarterback,
David Garrard, who hardly ever makes a mistake.
Finally, Jacksonville has that defense that can,
if not shut-down Tom Brady and company, can definitely
cause the most prolific offense in NFL betting
history some issues. The Jaguars are sneaky good
and sneaky good teams tend to do well in the
playoffs.
I expect the Jags to win their opening game
this weekend versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.
If that happens, and the San Diego Chargers beat
Tennessee, then the Jaguars will travel to New
England to take on the Patriots.
Indianapolis
Colts (BetUS odds to win Super Bowl - - 5 to
1) =
The Colts are the defending Super Bowl champions.
That’s really all
we need to know, but, because I truly believe
that this team is just as good as the Pats, I’m
going to lay it on thick here. First, in their
game early in the season, the Colts pretty much
had the win. They choked, no doubt about it.
I don’t expect that to happen again should
the Colts end up facing the Patriots in the AFC
Championship Game. The Colts also bring two stellar
running backs into the playoffs in Kenton Keith
and Joseph Addai. Addai in particular has proven
himself to be one of the top running backs in
the NFL this year. Peyton Manning knows what
it takes to win against the Patriots and there
is nobody who can game-plan as well as Colts
coach Tony Dungy. This team is loaded in every
single position and the fact that they get back
a healthy Marvin Harrison only makes them more
dangerous. What makes the Colts the obvious threat
to the Patriots? The fact that they play the
Cover 2, designed to take away the Patriots’ wide
receivers is the main reason this team is my
pick to make it to the Super Bowl. At odds of
5 to 1, do yourself a favor and think hard about
putting some money on the Colts to repeat.
In any case, the
NFL betting odds on the Patriots to win the
Bowl, - 180, are just too low. Take a look
at two teams who are built to beat this years’ version
of the New England Patriots and try to make
some money in your future bets this year!
Until next week, good luck!
