The Miami
Dolphins will be a team in change – again – in
2007 and one that will be hard-pressed to reach
.500 in new head coach Cam Cameron’s first
season because of several head-scratching moves
that have already been orchestrated by the former
offensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers.
Here is a look at the 2007 Miami Dolphins:
Offense: Cameron has already made two major
mistakes in my estimation. First, Cameron dropped
the ball by not drafting talented quarterback
Brady Quinn with the ninth overall selection
in favor of wideout, Tedd Ginn Jr.
Cameron may have also
made a mistake in greasing the skids for Daunte
Culpepper’s release
in favor of 37-year-old signal caller Trent Green.
Either way, the Dolphins will have their work
cut out fielding a competitive offensive line
in 2007. Green, who suffered a horrific concussion
last season, had better be prepared to protect
himself when he drops back to pass behind this
porous unit.
Defense: Miami will once again field one of
the better defenses in all of football this upcoming
season.
Jason Taylor, Zach
Thomas and Joey Porter lead a veteran defense
that is ready to win now and should keep the
Dolphins in more than a few contests this season.
Dolphins’ defensive coordinator
Dom Capers is one of the best in the business.
Analysis: Miami will be hard pressed to reach
.500 this season and dare I say it, looks like
a 4-12 team this year even with their powerful
defensive unit.
Football Betting View:
The Dolphins were an uninspiring 6-10 ATS last
season and those numbers could get worse in
Cam Cameron’s first
season in South Florida. Bettors may want to
examine Miami’s lines each week closely – and
take their opponents more often than not.
