Heisman Trophy Candidates

What a difference
a week makes! I just love football. Did Louisville’s loss to Kentucky
hurt the Heisman Trophy chances of Brian Brohm?
What did a shocking loss to Alabama do to Darren
McFadden’s odds of winning the Heisman?
Find out in BetUS’s Heisman Hopefuls for
week three!
1. Darren McFadden
(RB) – Arkansas Razorbacks
McFadden was strong
in the loss to ‘Bama
and is well on his way to getting the invite
to New York. With 195 rushing yards and two touchdowns,
the powerful runner is a threat to claim the
Heisman Trophy despite the dull edge of the Razorbacks
in big games.
Next game: Kentucky vs. Arkansas (-6.5)
2. Tim Tebow (QB) – Florida
Gators
Tebow catapulted up the rankings when he used
Tennessee as a welcoming mat to the Heisman race.
With 299 passing yards, two passing touchdowns,
61 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns,
Tebow squashed the Cornhuskers. Florida will
continue to win, which will keep Tebow right
in the Heisman spotlight.
Next game: Florida (-21) vs. Missouri
3. Ray Rice (RB) – Rutgers
Scarlet Knights
Rice will be up
and down all season because of Rutgers’ schedule, but his numbers will
continue to skyrocket as the season goes on.
He only got the ball twelve times last weekend,
but managed 72 yards and three touchdowns. The
bad news is that it was against Norfolk State.
With a bye week this weekend, his stock will
plummet, but he deserves your NCAA football betting
attention as he slips from the forefront of the
voters’ attention for the next two weeks.
Next game: bye week
4. John David Booty
(QB) – USC Trojans
Booty will always
get noticed by the voters if USC keeps steamrolling
opponents. Against Nebraska, Booty was sharp,
throwing 144 yards for two scores in a victory
that destroyed Nebraska’s
attempts to return to the national spotlight.
Booty’s numbers aren’t going to blow
anyone away, which might continue to hurt his
chances, but the best player on the best team
always gets a nod from voters.
Next game: Washington State vs. USC (-24)
5. Colt Brennan
(QB) – Hawaii Warriors
I can’t stop Colt Brennan from breaking
into the top-5 because of his numbers. I ragged
on him last week because his grandmother could
probably amass forty touchdowns in this offense,
but last week Brennan flashed his feet and rushed
for three touchdowns. He leads all Heisman candidates
with 1,262 (with no offense to Graham Harrell)
and has sixteen touchdowns under his belt. Voters
love numbers, even if I’m not convinced
yet. If you believe in him, take a flier in our
NCAA football futures.
Next game: Charleston Southern vs. Hawaii
