Based on Calvin Johnson’s
mini-camp workouts, quarterback Jon Kitna has
come out and said the Lions will win ten games
this season, if not more. Wow. Really? Let
us all run to the nearest NFL betting shop
to lay down our money after this proclamation
from such a great player.
Kitna will have a talented group to throw to
with Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson running
wide-out as Michael Furrey will take the slot
position. But who the hell is running the ball?
Detroit
Lions Odds & Lines
+10000 to win Super Bowl XLII
+800 to win NFC North
-1500 NOT to make the playoffs
Kevin Jones was morbid
last year, and Tatum Bell is a product of the
Denver system. Bell, like other Denver backs,
is going to learn just how difficult it is
to run outside of Denver. Especially since
he’ll have to try and
find gaps between the offensive line of the Lions.
Losing Dre Bly was
a big deal for the Lions, who will struggle
to stop people on defense yet again. We love
Kitna’s enthusiasm, especially
since it’s coming from Jon Kitna in Detroit,
but we have to be a bit more serious when betting
on NFL odds in a sportsbook. We don’t want
to throw our money away.
Read this: the Lions will have the worst pass
defense in the league this season, helping Brett
Favre gain the most TDs ever thrown by a QB.
And Travis Fisher will officially be recognized
as the worst cornerback in the NFL.
Bet on the Lions to
win less the five games again this year. They’re that bad, with
or without Calvin Johnson. Consider the fact
that, since Matt Millen took over as GM of the
Lions, they have only once won more than five
games in a season; they won six in 2004 – the
shining jewel in Millen’s crown of shame.
