NCAA Football betting overview of the AP Rankings
for Week 4 of the college season. For college
football wagering odds and lines on all the games,
head over to the BetUS
Sportsbook.
1. USC Trojans (3-0)
John David Booty continued his Heisman campaign
by throwing four scores against lowly Washington
State as the Trojans stormed to a 47-14 victory.
Can anyone stop these favorites to win the
national title?
Next game: USC (-20.5)
vs. Washington
2. LSU Tigers (4-0)
South Carolina
frustrated LSU’s betting
investors with ten futile fourth quarter points,
but that didn’t stop the Tigers from mounting
an early lead in a 28-16 win. The Tigers have
another easy matchup this weekend when they devour
Tulane, but that forty points spread is a bit
shaky considering how focused the Tigers remain
on their ground game.
Next game: LSU (-40) vs. Tulane
3. Oklahoma Sooners (4-0)
Sam Bradford and
the Sooners decimated Tulsa in a 62-21 victory.
Someone forgot to tell him that he’s a freshman. They have 50+ points
and are posting titanic averages of 61.5 points
and 562 yards. Voters could not ignore vaulting
the Sooners up the rankings, and the smart betting
man shouldn’t ignore this potent offense
either.
Next game: Oklahoma (-22.5) vs. Colorado
4. Florida Gators (4-0)
The road is an unfriendly place for any team,
and this young Gators squad found that out the
hard way. Old Mississippi was a massive underdog
against the Gators but was in the game until
the very end only losing 30-24. Tim Tebow continues
to be the man as he set a quarterback rushing
record of 166 yards. They have a stiff tilt against
Auburn, but will thankfully be in their own yard.
Next game: Auburn vs. Florida (-17.5)
5. West Virginia Mountaineers (4-0)
Pat White threw 181 yards, threw two touchdowns
and ran for two more. What else could you want
from a game breaking quarterback? Revenge. The
Mountaineers will take on South Florida, who
defeated them last season. You can bet on a barn
burner this Friday in our sportsbook.
Next game: West Virginia (-7) vs. South Florida
6. California Golden Bears (4-0)
Arizona’s woes continued as the Golden
Bears dropped 28 points on them in the first
quarter. California will face Oregon this weekend
and you can bet that the scoreboard is going
to be on fire throughout the whole game. The
over/under doesn’t stand a chance.
Next game: California vs. Oregon (-3.5)
7. Texas Longhorns (4-0)
Texas will be out for revenge against Kansas
State, who ended their title dreams in 2006.
That is why the oddsmakers have the line so tight
in the Big-12 opener. Colt McCoy had 333 yards
this weekend and three touchdowns, and the offense
is finally pulling together at the right time.
Next game: Kansas State vs. Texas (-15)
The Climbers
8. Ohio State (4-0)
No Ginn Jr.? No Pittman?
No Troy Smith? No problem! Northwestern was crushed
58-7 by the Buckeyes who are back in the running
for a BCS bid. The offense gives hopes to a team
that has squarely relied on its vicious defense
for the most part. Brian Robiskie was the lost
third man behind Anthony Gonzalez and Ginn
Jr., but he’s carrying his weight. He
has 431 yards and five touchdowns thus far.
Next
game: Ohio State (-21.5) vs. Minnesota
14. Kentucky Wildcats (4-0)
Andre Woodson led
the Wildcats to a huge upset over favored Arkansas.
For those of you not keeping tabs on these
underdogs, Woodson hasn’t
thrown an interception in 296 attempts. They
get an easy matchup against Florida Atlantic
and are rolling with 486.8 offensive yards per
game.
Next game: Florida Atlantic vs. Kentucky (-24)
The Pretenders
Louisville Cardinals (2-2)
Back-to-back losses
to Kentucky and Syracuse have killed their
BCS chances. At least Brian Brohm can look
forward to playing in Atlanta with his former
coach next season. That’s
something to look forward to right? Right?
Next game: Louisville (-9) vs. NC State
Alabama Crimson Tide (3-1)
Alabama played
well, but couldn’t handle
the young Dawgs who won in overtime against on
Mikey Henderson’s twenty-five yard touchdown
pass. On the bright side…oh wait. There
is no bright side. Alabama took over Georgia’s
No.22 spot in the AP Rankings and now they face
an upstart Florida State Seminoles squad.
Next game: Alabama vs. Florida State (-2.5)
