It took a while, but
after the madness of the NFL Draft 2007, the
world finally came back to earth and brought
the Browns with them. Cleveland shocked their
NFL betting fans and everyone else when they
were able to get Brady Quinn with the twenty-second
pick of this past spring’s
draft. Can they shock the world again by competing
in the AFC North this very season?
The quarterback situation
is still up in the air. Right now Charlie Frye
is the starter with Brady Quinn close behind
him. There is no rush to get Quinn under center
because the Browns, as seen by their +7500
NFL odds, don’t
have a shot at winning Super Bowl XLII.

Quinn should go the way of Leinart and nab the
starting job by early-mid season. Once there,
Quinn has the weapons to be effective through
the air. Braylon Edwards is a dynamic receiver
with breakaway speed and Kellen Winslow Jr. is
a force when he can stay healthy.
Jamal Lewis signed
on and will step in immediately at starting
tailback, but he too remains a big question
mark. Sure, he started to look better last
year, but can he carry that in to this season
with the Browns? I’m a Lewis fan, but that
is a tough call.
The Browns are miles behind their three counterparts
in the division, but have a lot to be excited
about in the coming seasons. Give them maybe
three seasons to gel and find a proper starting
tailback for this young, up and coming franchise.
