Final Score: Atlanta 20, Carolina 13
Charlotte, NC (My Sportsbook) - Alge Crumpler's
30-yard touchdown reception with just 20 seconds
left in the fourth quarter gave the Atlanta Falcons
a 20-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers at
Bank of America Stadium. Warrick Dunn ran for
89 yards with a touchdown for the Falcons (3-6),
who have won two straight after three consecutive
losses. Dunn also added three receptions for
51 yards. Joey Harrington was an efficient 19-of-26
passing for 192 yards with a touchdown while
Roddy White had six catches for 57 yards in the
victory. Vinny Testaverde, playing with an ankle
injury, threw for 153 yards on 13- of-28 passing
for the Panthers (4-5), who have lost their last
three games. DeShaun Foster carried the ball
20 times for 59 yards while Steve Smith had 61
yards on five catches in the loss.
Final Score: Green Bay 34, Minnesota 0
Green Bay, WI (My Sportsbook) - Brett Favre
became just the second player in NFL history
to surpass 60,000 passing yards as Green Bay
embarrassed Minnesota, 34-0, at Lambeau Field.
Favre was 33-of-46 for 351 yards and three touchdowns
for the Packers (8-1), who have won 12 of their
last 13 games dating back to last season and
took their fourth straight against the Vikings.
Favre reached the 60,000 mark when he found running
back Vernand Morency for a short three-yard gain
in the second quarter. The veteran now has 60,257
passing yards and trails only Dan Marino, who
threw for 61,361 in his Hall of Fame career with
the Miami Dolphins. Ryan Grant became the first
player to rush for 100 yards against the Vikings
this season with 119 yards on 25 carries, while
Ruvell Martin had four receptions for 57 yards
and a pair of scores for Green Bay, which has
the best record in the NFC. Adrian Peterson ran
for just 45 yards on 11 carries before leaving
late in the third quarter with a knee injury
for the Vikings (3-6), who have lost six of their
past eight games. Brooks Bollinger finished 16-
of-26 for 176 yards with an interception in his
first start at quarterback for Minnesota. Bollinger
replaced Tarvaris Jackson, who suffered a concussion
against San Diego last week. Robert Ferguson
had six receptions for 59 yards.
Final Score: Denver 27, Kansas City 11
Kansas City, MO (My Sportsbook) - Rookie Selvin
Young rushed for a career- high 109 yards and
a touchdown to lead the Denver Broncos to a 27-11
victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead
Stadium. With Travis Henry sidelined with an
ankle injury, Young got the start in the backfield
and made the most of his opportunity for the
Broncos (4-5), who avoided losing their third
straight game. Young also caught three passes
for 20 yards while Brandon Marshall had six receptions
for 85 yards. Despite a lower leg injury, Jay
Cutler made the start for Denver and threw for
192 yards on 17-of-29 passing with a touchdown
and interception. Dwayne Bowe hauled in a career-
high nine passes for 105 yards for the Chiefs
(4-5), who have lost two straight. Damon Huard
started behind center for Kansas City and struggled
before being replaced by Brodie Croyle in the
third quarter. Huard, who suffered a neck injury
as well, was just 6-of-15 for 83 yards with two
interceptions and a lost fumble that led to 14
points for Denver. Croyle went on to throw for
162 yards on 17-of-30 passing with an interception
in the loss. Priest Holmes, who started in place
of the injured Larry Johnson for Kansas City,
ran the ball 20 times for 65 yards.
Final Score: Buffalo 13, Miami 10
Miami, FL (My Sportsbook) - Rian Lindell hit
a 34-yard field goal with 46 seconds left in
the game, as the Buffalo Bills rallied in the
fourth quarter to keep Miami winless with a 13-10
triumph at Dolphin Stadium. J.P. Losman passed
for 157 yards on 12-of-23 completions and was
picked off once for the Bills (5-4), who have
won four in a row overall, and six of their last
seven over Miami. Marshawn Lynch gained 61 yards
and added a score on 19 carries, and Lee Evans
led the receiving corps with 65 yards on four
catches. Cleo Lemon completed 16-of-29 passes
for 131 yards for the Dolphins (0-9), who are
the only team in the NFL without a victory after
previously-winless St. Louis topped New Orleans,
37-29. Jesse Chatman rushed 27 times for 124
yards and caught five balls for 25 yards in the
loss, Miami's 12th consecutive defeat since a
21-0 win over New England on December 10, 2006.
Final Score: St. Louis 37, New Orleans 29
New Orleans, LA (My Sportsbook) - Marc Bulger
threw for 302 yards and a pair of touchdowns,
while running back Steven Jackson also added
his first career score through the air as St.
Louis held off a furious late rally to edge New
Orleans, 37-29, earning its first win of the
season. Bulger completed 27-of-33 passes and
spread the ball around to seven different receivers
for the Rams (1-8), who put a startling end to
the worst start in franchise history, having
surpassed the 0-6 beginning the 1962 Los Angeles-
based club endured. They also ended the longest
slide since the 1991-92 squad dropped 11 in a
row. Torry Holt had eight receptions for 124
yards, while Isaac Bruce, Randy McMichael and
Drew Bennett all had four receptions and a TD
apiece as the Rams picked apart the New Orleans
secondary all afternoon. Jackson, meanwhile,
returned to form with 22 carries for 76 yards
after a bulging disc in his back knocked him
out early in a 27-20 loss to Cleveland on October
28. Drew Brees struggled to find consistency
all afternoon for the Saints (4-5), who had a
four-game win streak halted and failed to move
above the .500 mark. Brees completed 25-of-36
passes for 272 yards and a pair of touchdowns,
but was also intercepted twice. Marques Colston
went over the century mark again and was the
lone bright spot for the receiving corps, with
eight catches for 129 yards, while Reggie Bush
racked up just 44 all purpose yards and one rushing
TD.
Final Score: Pittsburgh 31, Cleveland 28
Pittsburgh, PA (My Sportsbook) - Ben Roethlisberger
threw the go-ahead two- yard touchdown pass to
Heath Miller with 3:13 left in the fourth quarter,
as Pittsburgh rallied to beat the Cleveland Browns,
31-28, at Heinz Field. Roethlisberger completed
23-of-34 passes for 278 yards with two scores
and was picked off once. Willie Parker amassed
105 yards on 25 carries for Pittsburgh (7-2),
which has won nine straight against Cleveland
and three in a row overall to grab a firm hold
of the AFC North Division. Hines Ward had seven
receptions for 80 yards with one touchdown and
Miller caught five passes for 71 yards. Derek
Anderson threw for 123 yards on 16-of-35 attempts
with three touchdowns for the Browns (5-4), who
had their three-game winning streak broken. Cleveland
has not won four straight since 1994. Kellen
Winslow and Joe Jurevicius each hauled in five
passes for 46 and 44 yards, respectively. Joshua
Cribbs ran a kickoff back 100 yards for a score
for Cleveland.
Final Score: Jacksonville 28, Tennessee 13
Nashville, TN (My Sportsbook) - Fred Taylor
rushed for 45 yards, which put him over 10,000
yards for his career, and added a score as the
Jacksonville Jaguars ran over the Tennessee Titans,
28-13. Maurice Jones-Drew added 101 yards on
the ground and a score, and Greg Jones had a
touchdown run as the Jaguars ran for 166 yards
on the NFL's top rushing defense. Jones also
had a touchdown reception, as Quinn Gray threw
for 101 yards and that score on 13-of-23 passing.
Jacksonville (6-3) won for the second time in
three weeks. Vince Young threw for 257 yards
and a touchdown, but completed just 24-of-41
passes, and had two interceptions, as the Titans
(6-3) had a three-game winning streak snapped.
Justin Gage had seven receptions for 90 yards
and a touchdown, and Rob Bironas had two field
goals, giving him 15 consecutive made.
Final Score: Philadelphia 33, Washington 25
Landover, MD (My Sportsbook) - Brian Westbrook
scored two touchdowns 58 seconds apart late in
the fourth quarter as the Philadelphia Eagles
stormed past the Washington Redskins, 33-25,
at FedEx Field. Donovan McNabb completed 20-of-28
passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns for
the Eagles (4-5), who have been reduced to spoiler
in the NFC East and battle the winless Miami
Dolphins next Sunday. McNabb also broke Ron Jaworski's
team record with 10:35 left in the game on an
underthrown pass to Reggie Brown, marking his
2,089th career completion. Westbrook rolled up
100 yards on 20 carries and also had five catches
for 83 yards. He ended the day with three TDs.
Jason Campbell was 23-of-34 and threw a career-high
three touchdown passes for Washington (5-4),
including two to former Eagles receiver James
Thrash. Thrash, who finished with five receptions
for 85 yards, was taking the place of wide receiver
Santana Moss, who was inactive with a bruised
heel. Clinton Portis also finished with 137 yards
on 30 carries.
Final Score: Cincinnati 21, Baltimore 7
Baltimore, MD (My
Sportsbook) - Shayne Graham kicked a team-record
seven field goals and the Bengals defense forced
six turnovers to lead Cincinnati past the Baltimore
Ravens, 21-7, at M&T Bank Stadium. Carson
Palmer completed 23-of-34 passes for 271 yards
for the Bengals (3-6), who snapped a two-game
losing streak. Chris Henry, who had been suspended
by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for the first
eight games of the 2007 season back in April
for a myriad of off-field run-ins with law
enforcement and additional violations of league
policy, caught four passes for 99 yards in
his season debut. T.J. Houshmandzadeh had six
receptions for 45 yards and Chad Johnson had
73 yards receiving on four catches. Rudi Johnson
collected 46 yards on the ground. Steve McNair
finished the game with 128 yards on 17- of-26
passing before being replaced by Kyle Boller,
who had 89 yards through the air for Baltimore
(4-5), which has dropped three straight contests.
Michael Clayton had 107 yards receiving on eight
catches and Willis McGahee had 60 yards rushing
and the lone touchdown.
Final Score: Arizona 31, Detroit 21
Glendale, AZ (My Sportsbook) - Larry Fitzgerald
and Leonard Pope each had two touchdown receptions
as the Arizona Cardinals roughed up the Detroit
Lions, 31-21. Kurt Warner went 26-of-36 with
259 yards, three scores, and an interception
for the Cardinals (4-5), who snapped a three-game
losing streak. Fitzgerald finished the game with
eight catches for 74 yards while Pope had five
receptions for 52 yards for Arizona, which has
won two straight against Detroit. Karlos Dansby
had a big game for Arizona as he picked the ball
off twice and caused a fumble that was recovered.
Jon Kitna went 32-for-45 with 294 yards along
with two touchdowns and two interceptions for
the Lions (6-3), who had a three-game winning
streak coming into the game.
Final Score: Dallas 31, NY Giants 20
East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - Tony Romo
threw for 247 yards with four touchdowns to lead
the Dallas Cowboys over the New York Giants 31-20
at the Meadowlands. Romo completed 20-of-28 passes
and hit Terrell Owens with a pair of second-
half touchdown passes to lift Dallas (8-1) to
its third straight win since suffering its only
loss of the season. Owens ended with six catches
for 125 yards and Patrick Crayton added five
catches for 66 yards and a score for the Cowboys,
who increased their lead in the NFC East to two
games over the Giants and maintained pace with
Green Bay for the best record in the conference.
Eli Manning completed 23-of-33 passes for 236
yards with one touchdown and two interceptions
for New York, which had a six-game win streak
halted. Jeremy Shockey had his best game of the
season, hauling in a career-high 12 catches for
129 yards with a TD for the Giants, who shot
themselves in the foot time and again with penalties
while trying to rally in the second half.
Final Score: Chicago 17, Oakland 6
Oakland, CA (My Sportsbook) - Rex Grossman's
59-yard touchdown pass to Bernard Berrian with
a little more than three minutes to play gave
Chicago the lead, as the Bears got past the lowly
Oakland Raiders, 17-6, at McAfee Coliseum. Grossman
completed 7-of-14 passes for 142 yards for the
Bears (4-5) after Brian Griese injured his shoulder
late in the first half and did not return. Griese
ended 10-of-14 for 97 yards. Berrian had four
catches for 89 yards, Cedric Benson ran for 76
yards and a TD and Robbie Gould tacked on a field
goal for Chicago, which suffered through a Week
9 bye preceded by an ugly 16-7 home loss to Detroit.
All-Pro specialist Devin Hester averaged just
2.3 yards on six punt returns and 17 yards on
a pair of kickoff returns for the Bears. Josh
McCown was a dismal 14-of-27 for 108 yards passing
with an interception for Oakland (2-7), which
has lost five in a row. It was McCown's second
game since replacing the struggling Daunte Culpepper,
but he couldn't help an offense averaging just
11.2 points during its current skid.
Final Score: San Diego 23, Indianapolis 21
San Diego, CA (My Sportsbook) - Darren Sproles
returned a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns
as the San Diego Chargers barely held on for
a 23-21 win over the Indianapolis Colts at Qualcomm
Stadium. A week after getting beat by the Patriots,
the Colts attempted a miraculous comeback as,
trailing 23-0, the team scored 21 unanswered
points and had a chance to win the contest with
under two minutes to play. After Clint Session's
second pick of the game gave the Colts the ball
at the San Diego 42 with 5:50 left, Peyton Manning
drove his team down the field. On 3rd-and-3 at
the nine-yard-line, Joseph Addai took the ball
up the middle and appeared to have the first
down, but a booth replay showed that he was just
short of the first down marker, forcing a 4th-and-short.
The Colts lined up to try and draw San Diego
offsides, but a false start penalty pushed the
ball back five yards and the team called on Adam
Vinatieri for a 29-yard field goal with 1:34
remaining. However, he pushed his attempt wide
right. Indianapolis had one last chance to win
the game as the team stopped San Diego on the
ensuing possession, but Manning was picked off
on the last play of the contest, his career-high
and team-record sixth interception of the game.
Manning had one of the worst games of his career
as he threw his six picks on 34-for-56 passing
with 328 yards and two touchdowns while Reggie
Wayne had 10 catches for 140 yards and a touchdown
for the Colts (7-2), who have dropped their last
two games. Vinatieri missed both of the field
goals he lined up for. The Colts now hold a one-game
lead over Jacksonville for the top spot in the
AFC South. LaDainian Tomlinson finished the game
with 21 carries for 76 yards and a score while
Antonio Cromartie, who set an NFL record with
a 109-yard touchdown return on a missed field
goal in last week's loss to Minnesota, had three
interceptions for the Chargers (5-4), who have
won four of their last five games. Philip Rivers
had another sub-par performance for San Diego
as he finished the game 13-for-24 with 104 yards
and two interceptions. The win moved San Diego
one game ahead of Denver for first place in the
AFC West.
