Week 2
Fantasy Waiver Wire - Free Agent
QB's To Consider For Week 2 |
|
Player
- Position |
Team/Position/Why
Pick Him Up? |
Josh
McCown |
Raiders -
He's got a cracked in a finger on
his throwing hand, so keep an eye
on him, but he's an ok addition to
your bench, and had a decent game
versus the Lions. |
Ben
Roethlisberger |
Steelers - 4 TD's?? Are you kidding me? Big
Ben appears to have shaken off the
motorcycle accident and looks primed
for a breakout year. |
Jared
Lorenzen |
Giants - The fattest QB I've ever seen will
probably be seeing the field this
year as Eli Manning has what is reported
as a seperated shoulder. |
Derek
Anderson |
Browns - Charlie Frye was traded to the
Seahawks today for a 6th rd draft
choice. Quinn will continue to hold
the clipboard and Anderson becomes
"the man" in the Browns err (Offense). |
Duante
Culpepper |
Raiders - Should McCown not be able to go
Culpepper steps into the #1 slot.
Reports today that Russell has signed
a contact won't stop Culpepper from
being next in line. |
Jake
Delhomme |
Panthers - It's possible that Jake slipped
thru in most 8-10 team drafts, if
he did scoop him up in your league.
There's a heck of a lot other worse
options than the guy who has Steve
Smith as a weapon. |

Week 2 Fantasy
Waiver Wire - Free Agent RB's To
Consider For Week 2 |
|
Player
- Position |
Team/Position/Why
Pick Him Up? |
LaMont
Jordan |
Raiders - Jordan remains the top back in
Oakland until Dominic Rhodes returns
from his four-game suspension. Consider
Jordan a No. 2 Fantasy RB for Week
2 against the Broncos |
Chris
Brown |
Titans -
Not bad for a guy that didn't start.
Brown had 175 yards on 19 carries
with a 3-yard catch at Jacksonville
in Week 1. His Week 1 dazzling
play may earn him more playing
time, but he should still be considered
a low-end No. 3 |
Derrick
Ward |
Giants -
Stepped in versus the Cowboys and
had a decent game. He'll need to
do more of that because according
to the NFL Network, Giants RB Brandon
Jacobs has a sprained MCL and is
expected to miss three to five
weeks. |
Adrian
Peterson |
Vikings -
Rookie of the week nominee and former
OU running back AP had a great
first week in the NFL. What a catch
and run for a TD as an intro to
the league. Expect many more from
the first-round pick. |
Sammy
Morris |
Patriots -
Patriots RB Sammy Morris had 11
carries for 54 yards Sunday against
the Jets. He did a good job in
stealing a few carries from starter
Laurence Maroney. Morris also added
two catches for 11 yards. |
Michael
Pittman ** |
Bucs -
Right now, Williams is listed as questionable for Sunday, which means Gruden will proceed this week as if Williams will play but will get the bullpen ready just in case he can not. Michael Pittman will replace Williams at tailback. |

Week 2 Fantasy
Waiver Wire - Free Agent WR's To
Consider For Week 2 |
|
Player
- Position |
Team/Position/Why
Pick Him Up? |
Shaun
McDonald |
Lions -
With Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson
and Mike Furrey ahead of him in
the mix, McDonald will probably
need an injury or two to occur
before he can be counted on as
a reliable fantasy weapon. |
Drew
Carter |
Panthers -
Carter had only three catches for
19 yards on Sunday, but two of
those were for touchdowns. Both
TD grabs came on short passes from
spread sets. He may be replacing
Colbert in the starting lineup
soon! |
Antwaan
Randle-El |
Redskins -
OK he had a great game, but the
numbers are inflated, as 60 yards
came on a hail mary deflection.
He has 1 or 2 great games every
year though, and you may of just
missed his...I had him on the bench
in one league. |
Brandon
Marshall |
Broncos -
Marshall caught five passes for
52 yards and a touchdown in the
Broncos win over the Bills Sunday. He
could develop into a reliable target
for Cutler, especially in the red
zone where his size is a big advantage. |
Wes
Welker |
Patriots -
Six catches for 60 yards and a
TD is pretty much what the Pats
hoped for when they traded a second-round
pick to acquire Welker to serve
as their main slot receiver. |
Bobby
Engram |
Seahawks -
D.J. Hackett is out for the Seahawks
for up to a month with the dreaded
high ankle sprain, so Hasselbecks
favorite target will get more playing
time as the slot receiver alongside
Branch and Burleson. |

Consider For Week 2 |
|

Marcus
Pollard |
Seahawks -
See Engram. At 35 years old I don't
think you want to depend on Pollard,
but he's a great bye week fill
in, and is going to be used a lot
in the Seahawks offense. |
Marcedes
Lewis- |
Jaguars -
I don't normally recommend Jaguar
receivers but in this case I see
a lot of potential and I'd just
love to say "told ya so!" So pick
him up and stash him on your bench. |

Teams To Consider For Week 2 |
|
Player

Team/Position/Why
Pick Him Up? |
49ers
DST |
49ers
Defense -
The San Francisco 49ers defense
allowed 17 points and limited the
Cardinals to 241 total net yards.
they are still considered a low-end
Fantasy option heading into Week
2 at St. Louis against QB Marc
Bulger. |
Cardinals
DST |
Cardinals
Defense -
The Arizona Cardinals defense allowed
just 194 total net yards and 20
points in Week 1 at San Francisco.
I think they'll b a good bye-week
replacement at best, despite their
mastery of the 49ers in the opener. |
Seahawks
DST |
Seahawks
Defense
-
The Hawks allowed just six points
in Sunday's Week 1 win against
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They
also recorded five sacks and recovered
a pair of fumbles. I'd bench them
vs the Cards this week though! |
Texans
DST |
Texans
Defense -
They looked great against the Chiefs
but then I think a kids park team
could of done that as well. They've
brought in Boulware from Seattle,
and today they signed FS Will Demps
as well, so they're not standing
around. They could surprise this
year. |
