Detroit at Chicago |
1:00 PM |
|
Soldier
Field, Chicago, Illinois
Although
Chicago (3-4) has struggled to
defend its conference championship
and Detroit isn't in its usual
spot at the bottom of the division,
Harris was quoted this week as
saying that the Lions wouldn't
improve to 5-2 on Sunday. Kitna
and Griese are both starters in
most fantasy leagues, and should
be sure-fire plays in a game where
both defenses are suspect. The starting
running backs are somewhat hit-or-miss
as well. Bodog Life Sportsbook currently have
the Bears listed as 5½-point
favorites versus the Lions, while
the game's over/under is sitting at
45.
Start'em:
Jones, Williams, Griese, Clark, Bears

Pittsburgh at Cincinnati |

Paul
Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio
The Bengals look
to register back-to-back wins for
the first time this season and
halt a lengthy losing streak to
the Steelers in
Cincinnati when the division rivals
meet for the first time this year.
Steelers receivers Ward and Holmes
will keep the Cincinnati secondary
busy. Miller will contribute as
well. Parker and Roethlisberger
are the best fantasy options. Cincinnati
flamboyant wideout Chad Johnson
is a top player for fantasy owners.
Houshmandzadeh is a No. 1 option
in some leagues, Palmer is a must
start in every league unless the
likes of Tom Brady or Peyton manning
are sitting on the bench. Bodog Life Sportsbook
currently have the Steelers listed
as 4-point favorites versus the
Bengals, while the game's over/under
is sitting at 48.
Start'em:
Roethlisberger, Parker, Holmes, Miller,
Steelers DST, Palmer, Housh, Ocho

Oakland at Tennessee |
1:00 PM |
|
LP
Field, Nashville, Tennessee
The Titans hope
to have their young quarterback
back behind center Sunday when
they host the struggling Oakland
Raiders. The Tennessee
defense is a good play this week,
either running back -- White or Henry
-- has the potential to put up yards,
Young should be avoided. For Oakland,
both Jordan and Rhodes don't figure
to have much room. Porter, Curry
and Miller are decent starts. Bodog Life Sportsbook
currently have the Titans listed
as 7-point favorites versus the Raiders,
while the game's over/under is sitting
at 40½.
Start'em:
White, Titans D, Curry

Cleveland at St.

Edward
Jones Dome, St. Louis, Missouri
The Browns try
to maintain their surprising early
season success on Sunday when they
visit the woeful Rams. In Cleveland,
Anderson has been passing himself
up the ranks in fantasy football.
In Cleveland, Anderson has been passing
himself up the ranks in fantasy football.
Edwards is enjoying an excellent
season so far and is among the leaders
in touchdown receptions, Winslow
is banged up but a good option. Bulger
will match up well against Cleveland's
poor pass defense with Holt, Bruce
and Bennett. Jackson is a gametime
decision for the Rams. Bodog Life Sportsbook
currently have the Browns listed
as 3-point favorites versus the Rams,
while the game's over/under is sitting
at 45½.
Start'em:
Anderson, Edwards, Winslow, Bulger,
Jackson, Holt

NY
Giants at Miami |
1:00 PM |
|
Wembley
Stadium, London, England
The New York Giants hope a trip
overseas doesn't cool them off,
going for a sixth straight victory
and trying to keep the disheartened
Dolphins winless on Sunday as the
NFL plays a regular-season game
in London for the first time.
The Giants should be able to put
up plenty of yards and points against
Miami, Eli, Jacobs and Plax are
good options, Chatman and Booker
figure to be decent choices for
those who need bye-week substitutes.
Bodog Life Sportsbook currently have the Giants
listed as 10-point favorites versus
the Dolphins, while the game's over/under is sitting at 48.
Start'em:
Manning, Jacobs, Burress, Shockey,
Giants DST

Philadelphia at Minnesota |

Metrodome,
Minneapolis, Minnesota
McNabb and the Eagles will
try to turn their season around
against another inconsistent team
when they visit the Minnesota Vikings on
Sunday. Fantasy owners of Westbrook
and Peterson will be looking for
big days out of both, McNabb is
still capable of a strong statistical
game, and will look for Curtis. The
Vikings' defense and kicker Ryan
Longwell are both solid. Bodog Life Sportsbook
currently have the Eagles listed
as 1-point favorites versus the
Vikings, while the game's over/under
is sitting at 37½.

McNabb, Westbrook, Eagles DST, Peterson,

Bank
of America Stadium, Charlotte, North
Carolina
The Colts will
be trying to keep their record
unblemished Sunday when they visit
the NFC South-leading Carolina Panthers.
The Colts still have a host of worthy
fantasy starters, with Manning, Addai,
Wayne, Clark, and kicker Adam Vinatieri,
The Colts defense also isn't a bad
start these days. As for the Panthers,
the only must-start is wideout Steve
Smith. Bodog Life Sportsbook currently have
the Colts listed as 7-point favorites
versus the Panthers, while the game's over/under is sitting at 44½.
Start'em:
Manning, Addai, Wayne, Harrison,
Clark, Colts DST, Smith

Buffalo at NY
Jets |
4:05 PM |
|
Giants
Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
Trent Edwards,
facing the team against which he
made his first NFL start, looks
to lead the Bills to their third
win in four games since taking
over at quarterback as they meet
Chad Pennington and the woeful
Jets on Sunday. Coles
and Cotchery might get a blip
of excitement from what's likely
Pennington's last stand. Lynch
didn't explode in the last meeting,
but he's the latest in a recent
run of Buffalo backs that have
torched the Jets. Bodog Life Sportsbook currently
have the Jets listed as 3-point
favorites versus the Bills, while
the game's over/under is sitting at
38.
Start'em:
Lynch, Jones, Coles

Houston at San
Diego |
4:05 PM |
|
Qualcomm
Stadium, San Diego, California
Despite sprawling wildfires that
forced more than 500,000 people
to flee Southern California this
week, the Chargers (3-3) will play
the Texans (3-4) at Qualcomm Stadium
as scheduled. LT, Gates and the
Charger D are must starts. Hold
off on Chambers for one week to
see how he's used. For Houston,
having both Schaub and Green in
a hobbled state could be a problem
for fantasy owners. Bodog Life Sportsbook
currently have the Chargers listed
as 10-point favorites versus the
Texans, while the game's over/under is sitting at 46.
Start'em:
Daniels, Rivers, LT, Gates, Chargers

Jacksonville at Tampa
Bay |
4:05 PM |
|
Raymond
James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
With Garrard sidelined, the Jaguars
will give Gray his first NFL start
when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
on Sunday. Since both teams are
holding the opposition to under
16 points per game, the likelihood
of a low-scoring struggle makes
both defenses an attractive play.
Jones-Drew is a gametime decision,
so Taylor could be a decent bye
week filler. Graham's breakout
game last week probably has owners
taking notice, but don't anticipate
a repeat performance, the Bucs
have been throwing the ball more,
so Galloway and Hilliard are nice
options. Bodog Life Sportsbook currently have
the Buccaneers listed as 4-point
favorites versus the Jaguars, while
the game's over/under is sitting at
32.
Start'em:
Drew (INJ), Jaguars DST, Bucs DST

New
Orleans at San
Francisco |
4:15 PM |
|
Monster
Park, San Francisco, California
The Saints travel to San Francisco
on Sunday for the first time since
2001, to face their former NFC
West rival. Bush remains a must-start
each week because of his number
of touches, while Brees is starting
to redeem himself, Colston and
Henderson both possess big-number
ability. Few on the 49ers roster
deserve a start this week. Of those
few Gore is in the same boat as
Bush due to touches. Bodog Life Sportsbook
currently have the Saints listed
as 3-point favorites versus the
49ers, while the game's over/under is
sitting at 40.
Start'em:
Brees, Bush, Johnson, Gore

Washington at New
England |
4:15 PM |
|
Gillette
Stadium, Foxboro, Massachusetts
The NFL's most dominant team looks
to hit the halfway point of the
season with its perfect record
still intact Sunday afternoon when
the Redskins make their first visit
to Gillette Stadium.
If you have an offensive starter
on the New England roster, you're
starting him. Washington has two
sure-fire fantasy starters - Cooley
and the Redskins defense, but this
week its only Cooley. Portis scares
me this week, but he may get garbage
time yards and a TD. Bodog Life Sportsbook
currently have the Patriots listed
as 17-point favorites versus the
Redskins, while the game's over/under
is sitting at 48.

Bay at Denver |
Invesco
Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado
Following their bye week, Brett
Favre and the NFC North-leading
Packers look to continue their
early season success and win for
the first time in Denver when they
visit the Broncos on Monday night.
Owners of Favre and Green Bay's
top receivers, namely Driver and
Jennings, shouldn't be scared off
by Denver's pass
defense, The Broncos have allowed
11 passing touchdowns in six games.
Those who have Henry or Young will
need to closely monitor the former's
health status at gametime. It's
always hard to predict what kind
of numbers the erratic Cutler will
put up, Marshall is emerging, and
Scheffler is a nice bye week fill
in. Bodog Life Sportsbook currently have the
Broncos listed as 3-point favorites
versus the Packers, while the game's over/under is sitting at 42½.
Start'em:
Favre, Wynn, Driver, Cutler, Marshall
