Minnesota at Chicago |
1:00 PM |
|
Soldier Field, Chicago, Illinois
Chicago (2-3)
will look for a better effort from
Benson and try to reach .500 again
when it hosts the Minnesota Vikings
(1-3) on Sunday. There are only
two fantasy players worth mentioning
for this game and it's the starting
running backs for both clubs. As
for the Bears, tailback Benson has
only one 100-yard rushing game this
season, but recorded a season-high
27 carries and a score last week.
Griese is a better choice at quarterback
than what Minnesota has to offer.
Start both the D's in what should
be a low scoring affair. The Bears
take the Week 5 victory handed to
them by Green Bay and look to climb
back in the NFC North race with a
victory over Minnesota. The Vikings
come off a bye week with extra time
to prepare for the Chicago weaknesses.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Bears listed as 5-point favorites versus the Vikings, while the the over/under is sitting at 37.
Start'em:
Peterson, Vikings DST, Griese, Clark,
Bears DST

Miami at Cleveland |
1:00 PM |
|
Cleveland Browns Stadium, Cleveland, Ohio
After Trent Green suffered a severe
concussion last week that may end
his career, the Dolphins will turn
to Cleo Lemon as they look for their
first win when they visit the Cleveland
Browns on Sunday. For the first
time in a while, several members
of the Browns are solid fantasy plays.
Edwards and Winslow have both put
up consistent numbers at their respective
positions, and even Anderson has
been worth starting. For the Dolphins,
the only worthwhile starter is Brown,
though you might get lucky starting
Lemon or Chambers. Avoid the defenses
in this one. The Browns will be
a rare home favorite when Miami visits
this weekend.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Browns listed as 4-point favorites versus the Dolphins, while the the over/under is sitting at 45.
Start'em:
Brown, Anderson, Wright, Edwards,
Winslow

Washington at Green
Bay |
1:00 PM |
|
Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin
The Packers, who had an eight-game
winning streak snapped, will try
to rebound against Washington (3-1),
which rolled to a 34-3 home win over
Detroit last Sunday and is second
to unbeaten Dallas in the NFC East.
Favre is a player's dream
with his yardage and TD totals, though
interceptions can cost owners. Jennings
and Driver are solid, I'd bench Morency
and Wynn this week though. For the
Skins, Campbell is coming on, Portis
is a must start, Randel El is a gamtime
decision, but Santana Moss should
play, and put up good numbers for
you. I'd sit Cooley this week unless
you don't have better options. Both
D's will allow a couple TD's in this
one. Everyone wanting the Packers to falter got their wish Sunday. Everyone wanting the Redskins to prove they are a legit force in the NFC got their wish too. The Pack opened as three-point home faves in Week 6.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Packers listed as 3-point favorites versus the Redskins, while the the over/under is sitting at 40.
Start'em:
Campbell, Portis, Moss, Favre, Driver,
Jennings, Packers DST

Cincinnati at Kansas
City |
1:00 PM |
|
Arrowhead
Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri
The Bengals hope to avoid their
first four-game losing streak in
almost five years on Sunday when
they visit the Kansas City Chiefs
- one of the league's worst offensive
teams. Palmer and his two main receivers
have won many a game for fantasy
managers thus far so start em all.
You have to start Gonzo for the Chiefs
and I guess LJ (if you're desperate),
but for the rest...sit em. Cincy hit the bye week in a funk, while the Chiefs are playing better, especially on defense. The Bengals must win on the road and their defense must stop KC if they have any hope of rallying for the playoffs.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Bengals listed as 3-point favorites versus the Chiefs, while the the over/under is sitting at 43.
Start'em:
Palmer, Johnson, Housh, Rudi, LJ,
Bowe, Gonzo

Philadelphia at NY
Jets |
1:00 PM |
|
Giants
Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
As bad as Giants Stadium was to the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets in
their most recent games, one of them will leave it Sunday feeling much worse.
A pair of playoff teams from last season off to very disappointing starts meet
at the Meadowlands when the Eagles face the Jets. Westbrook is the only offensive
name that screams out to be played for either team, In terms of defense, the
Eagles are a strong play every week, and I only really like Coles for the Jets. Philly lost to the Giants in Week 4. The Jets lost to the Giants in Week 5. The 1-3 Eagles are favored over the 1-4 Jets when two slumping teams in green face off in Week 6.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Eagles listed as 3-point favorites versus the Jets, while the the over/under is sitting at 42.
Start'em:
McNabb, Westbrook, Eagles DST, Coles

Tennessee at Tampa
Bay |
1:00 PM |
|
Raymond
James Stadium, Tampa, Florida
The Titans go for their fourth win
in five games while the Buccaneers
look to overcome their injury woes
and remain on top of the NFC South
when the teams meet in Tampa, Fla.
on Sunday. There aren't a lot of
intriguing fantasy options on the
offensive side in this game for either
team. White is probably the Titans'
most attractive play on offense,
as he often receives the bulk of
the goal-line work, the Bucs' safest
fantasy play on Sunday might be kicker
Matt Bryant, Graham figures to receive
plenty of touches on Sunday and is
worth using as a No. 2 back. Tennessee continues to be a cover machine (12-2 ATS past 14) while Tampa Bay comes off a humbling loss against Indy. The Titans have covered three in a row vs. the Bucs, who opened as home chalk to a team coming off a bye week.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Buccaneers listed as 3-point favorites versus the Titans, while the the over/under is sitting at 37.

Houston at Jacksonville |
1:00 PM |
|
Jacksonville
Municipal Stadium, Jacksonville,
Florida
The Jaguars look to win four straight
games for the first time in two years
when they host the upstart Texans
on Sunday. Garrard has only four
touchdown passes on the year and
is averaging just 212 passing yards
per game, he'll do his average this
week as well. Jones-Drew and Taylor
are both risky starts I don't care
who you're playing. For Houston Schaub
has been decent and you could do
worse, with A. Johnson out again
you might find yourself doing ok
with Andre Davis instead. Start the
Jaguars D as always. Houston seldom wins on the road (3-15 SU past 18) and Jacksonville seldom loses at home (9-3 SU past 12). Will history repeat itself this weekend when the Texans visit the Jags or is the UNDER (6-1 past 7 meetings) the more likely outcome here?
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Jaguars listed as 7-point favorites versus the Texans, while the the over/under is sitting at 37.

Daniels, Jones-Drew, Jaguars DST

St.
Louis at Baltimore |
1:00 PM |
|
M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, Maryland
Baltimore
hopes for another outstanding performance
from its fierce defense and to avoid
a letdown when it hosts the winless
Rams on
Sunday. If you're playing Rams this
week then just Holt and Leonard
are the guys you should be thinking
about. Jackson is out another week
with that groin injury. As for the
Ravens, their best fantasy stud is
McGahee, who can beat defenders with
his legs and hands. Heap was a fantasy
star before his recent hamstring
injury, use him at your own risk.
Mason should do ok in this one, but
watch McNair's status as he's a gametime
decision. Baltimore held the 49ers to six first downs last week. Can they do the same to a struggling Rams team that scored 31 points last week but is looking for its first win of the season?
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Ravens listed as 10-point favorites versus the Rams, while the the over/under is sitting at 37.

Holt, McGahee, Heap, Ravens DST

Carolina at Arizona |
4:05 PM |
|
University
of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona
The Cardinals and Panthers will
both be trying to overcome injuries
behind center as they meet Sunday
in Glendale, Ariz. Warner should
continue to put up good numbers,
Boldin is a gametime decision so
plan accordingly, Fitzgerald is a
no-doubt starter right now, and ames
has been a quality second-tier fantasy
back. On the Carolina side, Smith
is still a top-flight fantasy wideout
no matter who will be throwing him
the football, Foster the fumble-prone
back remains a solid option as a
No. 2 runner, Carr hasn't delivered
enough points in his two starts to
draw serious consideration. Kurt Warner is in and Jake Delhomme is definitely out. Arizona looks to win another close game, while Carolina hopes David Carr and a stingy defense can move the Panthers to 3-0 SU and ATS on the road for the season.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Cardinals listed as 4-point favorites versus the Panthers, while the the over/under is sitting at 40.
Start'em:
Smith, Warner, James, Fitzgerald

Oakland at San
Diego |
4:05 PM |
|
Qualcomm
Stadium, San Diego, California
After losing four games in this
series as coach of the Raiders, Turner
is now leading the Chargers as they
look to extend a seven-game winning
streak over their AFC West rivals
on Sunday. This could be the week
for Tomlinson owners as an Oakland
defense that has been rather submissive
against the run creates a favorable
matchup. Gates is clearly a must-play.
Use Rivers only as a bye-week replacement.
Oakland's crowded backfield situation
make any Raider running back a risky
play, Curry a nice sleeper play as
a second receiver. Culpepper has
to show me more before I can depend
on him. The Chargers opened as 10.5-point
chalk after dominating Denver, while
the Raiders hope Daunte Culpepper
can reprise his superb Week 4 outing.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Chargers listed as 10-point favorites versus the
Raiders, while the the over/under is
sitting at 44.

New
England at Dallas |
4:15 PM |
|
Texas
Stadium, Irving, Texas
The New England Patriots look to
match the best start in franchise
history Sunday when they face the
Dallas Cowboys - one of the NFL's
two other unbeaten teams - at Texas
Stadium. For New England, Brady,
Moss, Watson, and kicker Stephen
Gostkowski are all definite starters,
while owners of Dallas players Romo,
Barber, Owens, Witten, and kicker
Nick Folk will be giving those team
members the nod. Two of the remaining three unbeaten teams lock up in Dallas Sunday when the untested Patriots visit the Cowboys. Dallas stole a Monday Night win against Buffalo on two late scores, while the Pats won a glorified practice against Cleveland.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Patriots listed as 6-point favorites versus the Cowboys, while the the over/under is sitting at 53.

New
Orleans at Seattle |
Qwest
Field, Seattle, Washington
The Saints will be trying for their
first victory Sunday night when they
face a Seahawks squad that suffered
its first regular season shutout
in seven years last week. Fantasy
owners who have been patient with
Brees this year might finally get
something out of the quarterback
on Sunday, Hopefully, that means
good numbers out of Colston. Seattle,
meanwhile, is in trouble running
the ball. There are worse options
out there than Hasselbeck, while
Engram and Burleson have been hot
waiver pickups due to the injuries
to Hackett and now Branch. Seattle,
coming off a shutout loss at Pittsburgh,
looks to march the Saints back to
the Bayou with an 0-5 record this
week. New Orleans continues to struggle
and catches an embarrassed Seattle
team at home, where they aim to make
amends and soar again.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Seahawks listed as 7-point favorites versus the
Saints, while the the over/under is
sitting at 43.

Giants at Atlanta |
Georgia
Dome, Atlanta, Georgia
The Giants look to win their fourth
straight game and continue their
success in Atlanta when they meet
the injury-plagued Falcons on Monday
night. The return of Jacobs makes
him worth starting, as does the duo
of Manning and Burress who you just
can't bench. Harrington is a quality
play in a league that values completions,
Crumpler's production is down from
past years, but he remains a regular
target. The Giants are on a roll and catch a break with lowly Atlanta on Monday Night. New York has won five straight trips to the Georgia Dome and opened as small road favorites against the 1-4 Falcons.
Bodoglife.com Sportsbook currently have the Giants listed as 3-point favorites versus the Falcons, while the the over/under is sitting at 43.
