 Bodog Fantasy - Week 5 - Rumors/Response
 2007
                              NFL Fantasy Football Rumors/ResponseSeptember 25, 2007
The latest from around the NFL . . . If you jumped on the Derek Anderson-Jamal Lewis
bandwagon prior to the weekend you were likely pretty
disappointed with their numbers on Sunday. Anderson went just 18-of-37 for 248 yards passing
(with one touchdown and two interceptions) in the
Browns' loss to the Raiders in Week 3, while Lewis
was held to 56 yards rushing on 15 carries. Those
numbers are a far cry from what those players put
up in Week 2, but they're probably more in line with
what you can expect going forward. The Bills have lost J.P. Losman for at least the
next couple of weeks with a sprained knee, and they're
still looking for wide receiver Lee Evans this season. Losman will be replaced by rookie Trent Edwards,
who had to finish Buffalo's game against New England
on Sunday. Evans, meanwhile, had another miserable
day with just one catch for seven yards. Neither
player is a fantasy asset right now. Forget all the question marks surrounding the Packers'
running game, as Brett Favre seems to have decided
he's going to pass the team to a strong season. Favre went 28-of-45 for 369 yards passing in Week
3 with three touchdown strikes, and he's been one
of the top quarterbacks in fantasy football so far
this season. Green Bay receivers Donald Driver and
Greg Jennings will have improved fantasy value as
well as long as Favre remains in the zone. Initial word out of Chicago was that Rex Grossman
will hold onto his job as the Bears' starting QB,
but a change at the position is undoubtedly coming
soon. Grossman went just 15-of-32 for 195 yards passing
against the Cowboys in Week 3, and was intercepted
three times. Also disappointing in Week 3 was Cedric
Benson, who scored a TD but only managed to rush
for 46 yards. Be wary of the Bears' players. There's no truth to the rumor that another player
has swapped bodies with LaDainian Tomlinson, but
the star RB has not been the best player in fantasy. Tomlinson ran for only 62 yards in Week 3, although
he did manage to catch a touchdown pass. LT was the
first pick in your draft, and that owner is probably
struggling right now. However, the Chargers do get
to play the Chiefs in Week 5.
