                               Super
                                Bowl MVP - January 17, 2007
                              by: VIP.com
                              VIP.com has updated its Super
Bowl Most Valuable Player odds. This list will
obviously change at the conclusion of this Sunday's
games, but it is so intriguing, that it is worth
reviewing now. Odds to win the Super Bowl MVP
                                are in parenthesis.
                              Peyton Manning (10:3)
                              Manning has never been to
a Super Bowl before, but if Indianapolis does
end up winning the whole thing, then it is likely
the MVP voters will give him the nod. First, the
Colts need to get by the New England Patriots
                                and a Mr. Tom Brady.
                              Tom Brady (11:2)
                              Brady was the Super Bowl
MVP in both the 2001 and 2003 seasons. In 2004,
New England won the Super Bowl again, but receiver
Deion Branch won the award. If Brady wins another
MVP, he will match the record of his idol, Joe
                                Montana.
                              Drew Brees (8:1)
If the Saints win the Super
Bowl, it will very likely be on the right arm
of Brees. Brees led the NFL in passing yards this
year, and it is a given that he will throw the
                                ball 30-40 times each game.
                              Rex Grossman (15:1)
                              Grossman is the most maligned
of the four quarterbacks remaining, and the least
likely to win the Super Bowl MVP. Still, with
a quarterback winning the MVP in 50% of all Super
                                Bowls, he deserves some consideration.
                              Reggie Bush (15:1)
                              Seven running backs have
been named Super Bowl MVP. Surprisingly, the last
one was Denver’s Terrell Davis back in 1998.
However, Bush is as good a candidate as all of
                                the remaining running backs left.
                              Marvin Harrison (15:1)
                              Five wide receivers have
been named Super Bowl MVP, including the last
                                two years.

Do we see a trend developing?
If the Colts win the Super Bowl and Manning has
a bad game, then Harrison is the next likeliest
                                candidate on the team.
                              Brian Urlacher (15:1)
                              Eight defensive players have
been named Super Bowl MVP, and two of them (Randy
White, Harvey Martin) shared the award in 1978.
The only defensive player on this list, Urlacher
has the speed of a defensive back in the body
                                of a linebacker.
                              Robbie Gould (50:1)
A kicker has never won the
Super Bowl MVP. If any of the remaining kickers
is to win the award, it is most likely Adam Vinatieri,
who already has two game-winning Super Bowl kicks.
                              John Carney (60:1)
                              See Robbie Gould.
                              The Field (4:6)
                              There are too many
good candidates in "The Field" to mention.
Clearly, another defensive player could emerge,
as well as an unmentioned running back or wide
                                receiver.
                              For all Super Bowl Odds,
