by: VIP.com
Sports Edge has updated its
2007 NFL mock draft. This is one of the longest
running mock drafts on the internet. It has been
featured on many draft sites including Foxsports.com.
Please post your messages below with any thoughts
or questions.
1) Oakland: JaMarcus
Russell, QB, LSU
Russell is a 6’6”
quarterback with a rocket arm and above average
mobility.
2) Detroit: Joe Thomas,
OT, Wisconsin
Thomas is the safest pick
in the draft, but it means passing up Brady Quinn.
3) Cleveland: Brady Quinn,
QB, Notre Dame
Quinn is a local Ohio product
who could start for Cleveland right away.
4) Tampa Bay: Calvin
Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
Johnson fills a need, and
he could be the draft’s most talented player.
5) Arizona: Alan Branch,
DT, Michigan
Joe Thomas is the target,
but Branch is a good consolation prize.
6) Washington: Gaines
Adams, DE, Clemson
The Redskins can use help
at both defensive tackle and end.
7) Minnesota: Jamaal
Anderson, DE, Arkansas
Kenchi Udeze and Erasmus
James have been big disappointments for far.
8) Houston: Adrian Peterson,
RB, Oklahoma
Peterson will help the team
and fans forget the Reggie Bush fiasco.
9) Miami: Dwayne Jarrett,
WR, USC
Jarrett would look very enticing
playing opposite Chris Chambers.
10) Atlanta: LaRon Landry,
S, LSU
Landry is the rare safety
that is worthy of a Top 10 selection.
11) San Francisco: Reggie
Nelson, S, Florida
The 49ers continue to add
talent to an improving defense.
12) Buffalo: Leon Hall,
CB, Michigan
Hall would soften the blow
of losing free agent, Nate Clements.
13) St. Louis: Amobi
Okoye, DT, Louisville
Okoye is only 19 years-old,
and he is improving rapidly every year.
14) Carolina: Levi Brown,
OT, Penn State
Brown is a safe pick for
a Panthers’ team with offensive line concerns.
15) Pittsburgh: Lawrence
Timmons, OLB, Florida St
The Steelers linebackers
are the heart and soul of the team.
16) Green Bay: Marshawn
Lynch, RB, California
Lynch would be a solid addition
to an offense with potential.
17) Jacksonville: Ted
Ginn Jr, WR, Ohio State
The Jaguars need a speed
receiver who can stretch the field.
18) Cincinnati: Jarvis
Moss, DE, Florida
Moss’ physical skills
will make him a riser in this draft.
19) Tennessee: Daymeion
Hughes, CB, California
Hughes could be an explosive
combination with Pacman Jones.
20) NY Giants: Paul Posluszny,
OLB, Penn State
Posluszny is a playmaker
who plays better than his measurables.
21) Denver: DeMarcus
Tyler, DT, NC State
The Broncos could also look
at defensive end and cornerback.
22) Dallas: Darrelle
Revis, CB, Pittsburgh
This pick would shift Anthony
Henry over to free safety.
23) Kansas City: Robert
Meachem, WR, Tennessee
Kansas City has needed a
number one receiver for years.
24) New England: Marcus
McCauley, CB, Fresno State
McCauley would re-unite with
Fresno State safety, James Sanders.
25) NY Jets: Quentin
Moses, DE / OLB, Georgia
Moses can be converted to
an OLB in the 3-4 defense.
26) Philadelphia: Patrick
Willis, ILB, Mississippi
Willis will provide some
flexibility at the linebacker position.
27) New Orleans, Chris
Houston, CB, Arkansas
The Fred Thomas fan club
has lost a few members recently.
28) New England: Anthony
Spencer, DE / OLB, Purdue
Spencer will be moved to
outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense.
29) Baltimore: Justin
Blalock, OG, Texas
Blalock played right tackle
at Texas, but he will be moved inside.
30) San Diego: Sidney
Rice, WR, South Carolina
A number one quality wide-out
would bring an added offensive dimension.
31) Chicago: Tony Ugoh,
OT, Arkansas
A good value pick for a position
that always needs fresh bodies.
32) Indianapolis: Adam
Carriker, DE, Nebraska
Carriker can play inside
or outside in the Colts’ defense.
