Louisville and West Virginia
battle with BCS title hopes on the line
Sportsbook.com posts odds for all the week’s
big games
(New York, NY) November 1, 2006 – While
two Big Ten teams, Ohio State and Michigan, lead
the AP and BCS rankings, two teams from the Big
East are making their mark on college football
this season as well. On Thursday night, West Virginia
travels to Louisville with both teams looking
to keep their perfect records in tact and move
one step closer to a potential bid for a spot
in the BCS title game in January. West Virginia,
ranked No. 3 in the BCS standings, is a one point
underdog at No. 5 Louisville, according to Sportsbook.com,
the world’s largest online sportsbook and
casino.
With No. 1 Ohio State and
No. 2 Michigan set to meet on November 18 in Columbus,
it’s believed that the winner of that game
will lock up the No. 1 spot in the rankings and
all but secure themselves a shot at the national
championship. If the winner of the Mountaineers
and Cardinals game tomorrow night remains unbeaten,
they will have a legitimate claim to be the other
team playing for all the marbles in Arizona.
Ohio State travels
to Illinois while Michigan hosts Ball State, with
both teams favored by more than 27 points. Florida,
ranked fourth in the BCS, still has an outside
shot at the BCS title game but needs to run the
table and hope for a lot of luck along the way.
They face Vanderbilt on the road, where they are
a 17 point bet.
