WEEK 9 NFL PICKS: Matt's Week 9 Picks

Well, maybe you have a shot
at winning money while betting against me! Surely,
no one expected me to struggle this much, especially
after we made money last season. Nevertheless,
we are not going to hang our heads. Rather, we
soldier on with three sensible picks that look
like winners to us. Then again, you pessimists
out there may want to bet the opposite of my selections.
Cincinnati +3 @ Baltimore
How can we in good conscious
recommend the Bengals right now? Their defense
is atrocious, Rudi Johnson is not running the
ball as well and they’re only a game over
.500. Still, Marvin Lewis does have a great record
in his Cincy tenure versus the Ravens.
Yes, we know one good offensive
week does not make a good offensive team. However,
we don’t foresee the Ravens having problems
scoring on a porous defense.
Jamal Lewis finally got his
first 100-yard game of the season and this is
a chance for the Ravens to really put the hammer
down in the divisional race. Plus, Baltimore leads
the overall series 12-8.

points and take the Ravens.
Atlanta -6 @ Detroit
Are you kidding me? What
conceivable reason is there to bet on the Lions?
They really hurt us earlier in the year with late-game
collapses. Coming off a bye week, Detroit is still
not prepared to face a rejuvenated Michael Vick.
We expect this affair to be high-scoring and very
entertaining. But we also expect Atlanta to romp.

points and take the Ravens.
Cleveland + 12.5 @ San Diego
The Chargers are now missing
Shawne Merriman, but it won’t really make
a difference. Cleveland’s offense is stagnant
and their defense is very penetrable. We expect
the score to be run up here, much in the same
way the Chargers smoked the Rams.
