Fantasy Football Player
Matchups Week 8
Now that Kevin Federline
has made appearances on WWE wrestling, Sirius
Satellite radio and several other media outlets,
one might figure it’s only a matter of time
before his mug flashes in some NFL related broadcast.
But instead of thinking about
that upsetting thought, focus positively on the
halfway mark of the NFL regular season and the
BetUS.com fantasy player match-ups:
Group 1
Peyton Manning Warrick Dunn
Andre Johnson
vs
Carson Palmer Larry Johnson
Steve Smith
The AFC’s leading passer
(Peyton Manning) and receiver (Andre Johnson)
team up with Warrick Dunn in the first match-up.
Johnson enter his meeting with Tennessee on fire,
having caught at least eight or more passes in
four consecutive games. On the flipside, it’s
hard to argue with the production of MVP candidate
Steve Smith. He’ll team with Carson Palmer
and an invigorated Larry Johnson.
Group 2
Vince Young LaDainian Tomlinson
Randy Moss
vs
Matt Leinart Tiki Barber
Chad Johnson
Group 2 features two teams
quarterbacked by rookies. After a strong output
against the Chicago Bears, Matt Leinart has cooled
off in the Black Hole last week. Meanwhile, Vince
Young’s overall performance hasn’t
been pretty but he’s been effective. LaDainian
Tomlinson has returned to his fantasy MVP self
and surprisingly, Tiki Barber has matched him,
except for the touchdowns. Look for a big week
from a fired up Chad Johnson, who prefers to be
referred to “ocho-cinco”.
Group 3
Drew Brees Willie Parker
Terrell Owens
vs
Philip Rivers Rudi Johnson
Torry Holt
Drew Brees faces the team
that decided to pass on him in the off-season
in favor of Philip Rivers and expect him to play
with some vitriol. So far, the move has been win-win.
Brees will work with fast Willie Parker and a
vocal Terrell Owens, who will have Tony Romo as
his passer this week. Rivers will work with Torry
Holt, who once again is putting together another
quiet Pro Bowl season, and Rudi Johnson.
Group 4
Eli Manning Steven Jackson
Anquan Boldin
vs
Donovan McNabb Frank Gore
Plaxico Burress
After a hiccup last week,
Donovan McNabb has seemingly given up first place
in the NFL MVP race to Steve Smith. Look for him
to reassert himself against a weakening Jaguars
defense. Steven Jackson and Frank Gore, who are
both coming off of a bye week and are ranked fifth
and sixth in NFC rushing respectively, face stout
run defenses this week. You can expect Anquan
Boldin to have a solid week in Green Bay this
week, Packers cornerback Charles Woodson hasn’t
played solid back-to-back games in about two years.
Group 5
Quarterbacks
Tom Brady David Carr Marc
Bulger Michael Vick
Group 6
Running Backs
Brian Westbrook Chester Taylor
Reggie Bush Cadillac Williams
