Watch Chad in Week 2
With three home teams getting
shutout in week one, it is quite obvious that
offenses are scoring about as much as Napoleon
Dynamite and Screech at the Playboy Mansion. But
not to worry, although the defenses are ahead
of schedule right now, expect the offenses to
reassert themselves and make the BetUS.com fantasy
football player match ups all the more interesting
for week two.
Player matchups
Group
1
Peyton Manning
Larry Johnson
Chad Johnson
vs
Eli Manning
LaDainian Tomlinson
Terrell Owens
The real Manning Bowl takes
place this week as Peyton and Eli quarterback
the rivaling teams in Group 1. Peyton teams with
Larry Johnson, whose nine-game 100-yard rushing
streak ended in week one and Chad Johnson, who
is anxious to torch a feeble Browns secondary.
Eli will lean on LT and TO, both of whom are expected
to follow up solid opening week outings.
Pick: Take Manning, Johnson and Johnson.
Group
2
Carson Palmer
Ronnie Brown
Anquan Boldin
vs
Donovan McNabb
Shaun Alexander
Larry Fitzgerald
The Bengals were cautious
with Carson Palmer in week one, emphasizing the
running game, but expect them to open up the aerial
attack in week two. Palmer teams with Ronnie Brown
and Anquan Boldin, both of whom led their respective
clubs in fantasy scoring last week. They will
face off against Donovan McNabb and Shaun Alexander,
the last two players on the cover of the Madden
Football video game and Larry Fitzgerald, who
could and should be on the cover next year. Pick:
Take McNabb, Alexander and Fitzgerald.
Group
3
Daunte Culpepper
Cadillac Williams
Plaxico Burress
vs
Matt Hasselbeck
Steven Jackson
Donte Stallworth
Daunte Culpepper didn’t
get his roll on in week one and his two costly
interceptions blew the game for Miami. Both he
and Cadillac Williams, who also struggled in his
first game of the season, will look to get on
track against softer defenses in the coming week.
Matt Hasselbeck also disappointed in the opening
week as he was unable to find the end zone, but
that won’t happen again versus the Arizona
Cardinals. Pick:
Take Culpepper, Williams and Burress.
Group
4
Jake Plummer
LaMont Jordan
Roy Williams
vs
Brett Favre
Kevin Jones
Randy Moss
Group four is a bout of six
players who labored in week one. Don’t expect
Brett Favre and Jake Plummer to be as sloppy with
the football this week. However, Kevin Jones and
LaMont Jordan might need some magical help to
break the 100-yard barrier. Roy Williams turned
Rasheed Wallace has guaranteed a win over the
Chicago Bears this week which means one of two
things: either the Bears will pummel his fragile
figure or he will be an integral part of a Lions
win. Pick: Take Favre, Jones and Moss.
