- NFL Week 14 Betting Recap
by: Betus.com
The
NFL never ceases to amaze us. Watching the Jaguars
dismantle the Colts and the Saints destroy the
Cowboys, you can never really tell what will happen
from week to week. Meanwhile, teams such as the
Ravens, Bengals and Eagles continue to take it
up a notch as the playoffs approach. Let’s
look at the betting stories from Week 14 Sunday.
Vikings 30 Lions 20
Detroit shot themselves in
the foot enough early to lose this one late. The
road favorite covered and the over prevailed.
Funny, we know they played yesterday but we can’t
find anyone we know that actually watched the
game!
Bengals 27 Raiders 10
Cincy took command early
and coasted, exactly what they needed in the midst
of a playoff push. This game was almost like a
bye week. An easy home cover for the Bengals.
Giants 27 Panthers 13
Without Jake Delhomme, the
Carolina offense struggled. Meanwhile, New York
showed up and won a crucial road game. Though,
Eli Manning MUST be more efficient down the stretch
in order for the G-men to get in the postseason.
A road favorite covered.
Eagles 21 Redskins 19
Jason Campbell is not yet
ready to be a top notch NFL QB and Jeff Garcia
is playing like the one he used to be. Philadelphia
won but failed to cover as a road favorite. Washington’s
defense is playing better, but their pass game
is not good right now.
Falcons 17 Bucs 6
It was all Buccaneers early,
but someone forgot to tell them to score points
when you dominate. Atlanta’s defense held
the fort until Vick & co. woke up. The road
favorite and under covered.
Ravens 20 Chiefs 10
Steve McNair showed why the
Ravens went out and got him by once again being
steady with gusts of greatness. Baltimore won
as a road dog and the under was a the play on
the total in this contest.
Dolphins 21 Patriots
Every week there is a shocker
and this one certainly qualifies as Week 14’s
surprising result. New England is not taking care
of the ball or playing consistent on offense right
now. The home dog prevailed here and the under
was a lock.
Jaguars 44 Colts 17
We can’t figure out
this Jaguars team. They put up 44 points against
the Colts, yet drop two games to the Texans. The
running game was the key here, as Taylor/Jones-Drew
were unstoppable. The home dog and over were your
winning bets for this matchup.
Titans 26 Texans 20 (OT)
Yep, another week of Tennessee
football and another week for Vince Young to pull
it out at the end. He is getting better and better
and we think he’ll be what Michael Vick
was supposed to be. The road favorite and over
were the correct wagers.
Packers 30 49ers 19
Brett Favre and Donald Driver
turned back the clock and looked like the best
passing combo in the league as Green Bay showed
up on both sides of the ball to bury the 49ers.
Yes, the over was the lock
of the week, but the road dog winning outright
was certainly not something we could have foreseen.
Cardinals 27 Seahawks
21
It’s too bad the Cardinals
are winning now that it’s all but confirmed
Dennis Green is done as head coach. Arizona is
finally protecting the quarterback and winning
games. They covered as the home dog and pushed
the total over. As for Seattle? They were out
of synch all game and looked like a team searching
for answers.
Chargers 48 Broncos 20
LaDainian Tomlinson became
the most prolific single-season runningback in
league history and San Diego clinched their postseason
spot. The over was accomplished in the third quarter
and the home side Chargers covered the spread.
Bills 31 Jets 13
The better team won here
and that’s a shame considering the Jets
still have a chance at the playoffs. Buffalo’s
hard luck finally ended. They covered as a road
dog and handed New York a costly loss.
Saints 42 Cowboys 17
This was a case of coach
Payton knowing intimate tendencies of Tony Romo
from their days together in Dallas. New Orleans
all but confirmed their place in the postseason
and served notice that they are for real. The
Saints won outright as a road dog and over was
predictably covered.
