Rutgers
vs. West Virginia
Sat. Dec. 2nd, 7:45 pm EST
No. 13 Rutgers Scarlet Knights
(10-1 SU & 6-3-1 ATS) invade Morgantown to
battle No. 15 West Virginia Mountaineers (9-2
SU & 5-4-1 ATS). The Scarlet Knights enter
this contest playing the role as the puppies where
they are a stout 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games.
The Scarlet Knights can clinch
the league title for the first time, with a win
over the Mountaineers. The Scarlet Knights went
3-20 SU in sixth-year coach Greg Schiano's initial
two seasons, but have won 17 games over their
last two years. Last year they earned their first
bowl berth since 1992.
The Scarlet Knights, who
have not defeated the Mountaineers since 1994,
have lost in each of their 14 trips to Morgantown,
in a series that dates back to 1916.
West Virginia is the only
Big East team that Schiano has not defeated as
coach of the Scarlet Knights. His team is 4-27-2
SU all-time against the Mountaineers, including
an 80-7 rout in 2001.
The Mountaineers are second
in the nation with 312.1 rushing ypg, and third
with 38.7 ppg. The Scarlet Knights, however, are
holding opponents to 243.5 total yards (3rd in
the nation) and 98.8 yards on the ground.

Nebraska vs. Oklahoma
Sat. Dec. 2nd, 8:00 pm EST
No. 8 Nebraska Cornhuskers
(9-3 SU & 7-3-1 ATS) meet the No. 8 Sooners
(10-2 SU & 8-3-1 ATS) in Oklahoma. Conference
play has been profitable for both, as the Sooners
are 6-1 ATS and the 'Huskers are 5-1-1 ATS.
This matchup pits two of
college football's older rivals, as the Sooners
and Cornhuskers were perennial Big Eight conference
rivals before both entered the Big 12 in 1996.
Oklahoma leads the all-time series 42-37-3 SU,
including victories in both the 2004 and 2005
regular seasons.
The Sooners saw their chances
for a South division title take a hit with a 28-10
loss Oct. 7 to the then-No. 2 Texas Longhorns,
in the Red River Rivalry. The following week,
Adrian Peterson, the 2004 Heisman Trophy runner-up,
broke his collarbone in a 34-9 victory over Iowa
State, seemingly derailing any BCS bowl hopes
for Oklahoma.
However, the Sooners kept
on winning without Peterson, earning their seventh
straight victory, 27-21, last Saturday at Oklahoma
State. That win gave Oklahoma the division crown
and its fifth Big 12 championship appearance the
last seven years.
Notable Game Trends:
- Cornhuskers are 5-1-1 ATS
in their last 7 conference games.
- Cornhuskers are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games
following a SU win.
- Sooners are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 conference
games.
- Sooners are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as
a favorite.
- Sooners are 7-2-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning
record.
- Sooners are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
- Cornhuskers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
- Favorite is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
