NINE.COM TO LAUNCH "GAMBLER
OF THE WEEK"
Nine.com to honor individuals who take untraditional
gambles.
Nine.com a leading online entertainment
gambling site today announced the February 1
launch of its much anticipated Gambler of the
Week program.
Every week, executives at Nine.com
will select an individual who exhibits a noteworthy
amount of courage, drive or initiative by taking
an unorthodox gamble or risk. Whether they see
success or failure is not important.
The person selected can come
from the world of sports, politics, music, stage,
screen, academic, professional or as most often
the case an "everyday" citizen.
"The central requirement
in our selection process is that the person
did something unusual, risky, heroic, or out
of character; basically they just took a big
gamble," said Nine.com executive Robert
Evans.
"Whether or not they succeed
is not important; what counts is whether they
had the moxie to take the gamble in the first
place."
The winner will be featured on
the Nine.com website and receive an award certificate,
a $1,000 gift certificate toward a Nine.com
gaming account, and numerous Nine.com merchandise.
"We are in the business
of chance," said Evans. "In turn,
we would like to honor those people who take
a gamble and deserve a little recognition."
