The biggest loser of
the week was Oregon. The Ducks were blasted by
Washington State and dropped nine places all the
way to the bottom of the rankings. Georgia Tech
also took a large hit, eight places, after a loss
to Clemson.
For the first time this season
there were no new teams in the Top 25.

Ohio State (1) 8-0 – The Buckeyes
slammed Indiana 44-3 last week to hold on to the
top spot. Ohio State’s journey through the
Big Ten continues this week with a home game versus
3-5 Minnesota. Buckeyes’ receiver Ted Ginn
Jr. played last week with a broken toe and is
expected to play through the injury again this
week.

Michigan (2) 8-0 – The Wolverines
dropped Iowa 20-6 last week to hold steady at
No. 2. Michigan should have no trouble with 2-7
Northwestern at home this week. Michigan receiver
Mario Manningham is expected to be sidelined once
again this week.
3.
USC (3) 6-0 – The Trojans were off
last week after defeating Arizona State 28-21
on October 14. USC returns to the field this week
against 4-3 Oregon State.

West Virginia (4) 7-0 – The Mountaineers
easily climbed over Connecticut 37-11 last week.
West Virginia gets their biggest test of the season
this week when they travel to No. 6 Louisville.
5.
Texas (5) 7-1 – The Longhorns scraped
past Nebraska 22-20 thanks to a last-minute field
goal last week. Texas should have an easier time
with 5-3 Texas Tech this week.
6.
Louisville (6) 7-0 – The Cardinals
got past Syracuse 28-13 last week. Louisville
faces No. 4 West Virginia this week in a key Big
East matchup.
7.
Auburn (8) 7-1 – The Tigers mauled
Tulane 38-13 last week. Auburn heads to 2-6 Mississippi
this week. The Tigers' running game could be in
trouble this week with Kenny Irons and Brad Lester
both battling injuries.

Tennessee (7) 6-1 – The Volunteers
edged Alabama 16-13, which cost them one spot
in the rankings. Tennessee hits the road this
week with a game at 5-2 South Carolina. Tennessee
leading rusher LaMarcus Coker will be out for
3-5 weeks with a knee injury.
9.
Florida (9) 6-1 – The Gators were
on a bye last week after losing to Auburn 27-17
on October 14. Florida faces another tough SEC
opponent in 6-2 Georgia this week.
10.
Clemson (12) 7-1 – The Tigers moved
into the Top 10 after routing Georgia Tech 31-7
last week. Clemson takes on 5-2 Virginia Tech
this week. Clemson leading rusher James Davis
is listed as probable for this week’s game
due to a shoulder injury.
11. Notre Dame (10) 6-1 –
The Fighting Irish fell out of the Top 10 after
a close 20-17 win over UCLA last week. Notre Dame
visits 5-2 Navy this week.
12. California (11) 7-1 –
The Golden Bears defeated Washington 31-24 last
week. California gets a rest this week before
taking on UCLA on November 4.
13. Arkansas (15) 6-1 –
The Razorbacks beat up on Mississippi 38-3 last
week. Arkansas gets a walk in the park versus
1-6 Louisiana-Monroe this week.
14. LSU (14) 6-2 –
The Tigers knocked off Fresno State 38-6 last
week. LSU is in tough this week with a road game
versus No. 8 Tennessee.
15. Boise State (18) 8-0
– The Broncos pummelled Idaho 42-26 last
week. Boise State is off this week and takes on
1-6 Fresno State on November 1.
16. Rutgers (19) 7-0 –
The Scarlet Knights doubled up on Pittsburgh 20-10
last week. Rutgers hosts 3-4 Connecticut this
week.
17. Wisconsin (21) 7-1 –
The Badgers rolled past Purdue 24-3 last week.
Wisconsin faces 2-6 Illinois this week.
18. Boston College (22) 6-1
– The Eagles continued their push up the
rankings after defeating Florida State 24-19 last
week. Boston College takes on 1-6 Buffalo this
week.
19. Oklahoma (20) 5-2 –
The Sooners ran over Colorado 24-3 last week.
Oklahoma faces much tougher No. 23 Missouri this
week.
20. Nebraska (17) 6-2 –
The Cornhuskers dropped three spots after a 22-20
loss to Texas last week. Nebraska heads to 4-3
Oklahoma State this week.
21. Georgia Tech (13) 5-2
– The Yellow Jackets were crushed by Clemson
31-7 last week. Georgia Tech needs to rebound
versus 5-2 Miami this week.
22. Texas A&M (23) 7-1
– The Aggies edged Oklahoma State 34-33
last week. Texas A&M heads to 4-4 Baylor this
week.
23. Missouri (24) 7-1 –
The Tigers downed Kansas State 41-21 last week.
Missouri faced No. 19 Oklahoma in a Big 12 showdown
this week.
24. Wake Forest (25) 6-1
– The Demon Deacons moved out of the Top
5 basement despite having last week off. Wake
Forest should have no trouble with 1-6 North Carolina
this week.
25. Oregon (16) 5-2 –
The Ducks plummeted to the bottom of the rankings
after a 34-23 loss to Washington State last week.
