                                 Jamal Lewis carried
the ball 24 times for 72 yards and a touchdown,
while Steve McNair continued to look comfortable
in head coach Brian Billick's offense with 245
yards passing. More importantly, Baltimore (6-2)
moved two games in front of reeling Cincinnati
(4-4) in the AFC North race. Carson Palmer had
a case of the 'highs' early, with every throw
sailing amidst constant pressure. The signal-caller
was 12-of-26 for 195 yards with one touchdown
and two interceptions. The Bengals did get Rudi
Johnson involved one week after the running back
questioned his role in the offense. Johnson had
77 yards rushing and a touchdown, but couldn't
break one for a big play. Final Score: Buffalo

Bills defeated the Green Bay Packers, 24-10, at
Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Packers dominated the
game statistically but the Bills held on for the
win. Anthony Thomas took over for Willis McGahee,
who left early in the game with a rib injury,
and had 95 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown.
J.P. Losman completed 8-of-15 passes for 102 yards
and a touchdown for the Bills (3-5), who forced

at Soldier Field. Chicago lost its chance for
NFL immortality as it will not go into the record
books with an undefeated season. The game had
strong similarities to December 2, 1985, when
the Bears were 12-0 before losing 38-24 to the
Dolphins. That was the only game they lost that

who scored 21 points off turnovers. Rex Grossman

22, Dallas 19 Landover, MD - Mike Vanderjagt
lined up for the game-winning field goal try with
six seconds left, and when the dust settled, a
kick did sail through the uprights as time expired.
Only it wasn't his. Troy Vincent blocked Vanderjagt's
35-yard field goal try, Sean Taylor returned it
to the 31 following a face mask penalty that extended
the game, and Nick Novak hooked in a 47-yard field
goal with no time on the clock to give Washington
a scintillating 22-19 win over Dallas at FedEx
Field. Vincent, who was just signed on Monday,
leapt into the air and got a hand on the ball
before Taylor picked it up and rumbled 30 yards
to the Dallas 44 with no time on the clock. A
15-yard face mask was called on the play and,
by rule, a game cannot end on a defensive penalty.
As a result, Novak got a chance at it and barely
edged his attempt inside the right post. Mark
Brunell ended 14-of-23 for 192 yards while Chris

a defensive battle at Monster Park. Alex Smith
was 13-of-21 passing for 105 yards and an interception
and Frank Gore rushed for 41 yards on 19 carries
for the 49ers (3-5). Brandon Moore led the Niners'
defense with 14 total tackles and a sack. San
Francisco, which snapped a two-game losing streak,
will travel to Detroit to play the Lions next
Sunday. The Vikings were led by quarterback Brad
Johnson, who was 21-of-31 passing for 136 yards
with an interception. Chester Taylor had 96 yards
rushing on 26 carries and caught eight passes
for 45 yards in the loss. Minnesota (4-4) has
lost two straight games and will host the Green
Bay Packers next Sunday. Final Score: Denver 31,
                                Pittsburgh 20 Pittsburgh, PA - Javon Walker's
arrival -- six catches for 134 yards with two
touchdowns and a 72-yard rushing score -- signaled
Pittsburgh's season departure just 10 months after
winning the Super Bowl, as Denver capitalized
on constant Steelers mistakes in a 31-20 victory
at Heinz Field. The Steelers (2-6) have lost five
of six since a season-opening victory over the
Miami Dolphins. Mike Bell only had 28 yards rushing
for Denver (6-2), which bounced back from a loss
                                last Sunday in Indianapolis.

touchdowns to guide the San Diego Chargers past
the Cleveland Browns, 32-25, at Qualcomm Stadium.
Tomlinson also caught three passes for 20 yards
while Philip Rivers ended 19- of-28 for 211 yards
without a touchdown or an interception for the
Chargers (6-2), who have won four of their last
five. Eric Parker finished with five catches for
65 yards, and Keenan McCardell added five catches
for 64 yards. The battle of two top-flight tight
ends, meanwhile, was rather one-sided. San Diego's
Antonio Gates had just two grabs for 22 yards
while Kellen Winslow Jr. hauled in 11 balls for
78 yards for Cleveland (2-6), which has dropped

16-0 at a wet Qwest Field. Defensive tackle Craig

Grant Wistrom each recorded two sacks of Walter,

ended 18-of-30 for 176 yards with a touchdown
under center for Seattle, which didn't have a
stellar offensive output either. Maurice Morris,
most likely starting for the final time in place
of injured starter Shaun Alexander, ended with
a career-high 138 yards rushing for the Seahawks,
who halted a two-game slide and won for only the
second time in five outings. Walter completed

had a two-game win streak halted and was shut

next Sunday. Oakland scored just three points

loss. In a game that lacked the knock-out punch,
the best shot of the game will probably result
in a suspension. With 1:51 left Oakland defensive
end Tyler Brayton got into a scuffle with Seattle
