5) San Francisco (+7) at New
Orleans
Someone forgot to tell San
Francisco they were supposed to be terrible this
year, because they have been respectable at 5-6.
The 49ers three game winning streak came to an
end at St. Louis (20-17) last Sunday, but they
proved they will fight on the road, unlike earlier
this season.
New Orleans is 7-4
after beating Atlanta for the second time this
season. The win ties the Saints for the second
best record in the conference with Dallas and
Seattle. It was also likely the knockout punch
for a fading Falcons team. New Orleans has dropped
their last two home games to Baltimore and Cincinnati,
so they must reestablish home field advantage
this week. Week
13 NFL Point Spread 49ers +7
4) Jacksonville (+1.5) at Miami
Jacksonville is 6-5 after
a 27-24 loss at Buffalo. It was the fourth loss
in five road games for the Jaguars, an unacceptable
figure. However, the Jaguars did play well in
Philadelphia a few weeks back, and they hope that
staying within the state of Florida changes their
road fortunes.
Miami is 5-6, but has
won four straight games to keep their playoff
hopes alive. The Dolphins believe their run can
continue even with running back, Ronnie Brown
out. That means more pressure on quarterback,
Joey Harrington. Miami may need to run the table
to make the playoffs, and they have another tough
game with New England visiting next week.
Week 13 NFL Point
Spread Jaguars +1.5
3) Dallas (-3.5) at NY Giants
New York is 6-5 after losing
24-21 at Tennessee. The Giants blew a 21-0 lead
in the 4th quarter of that game. Quarterback,
Eli Manning is in a major funk right now, and
a good portion of the fans seem to have turned
against him. New York is also still banged up,
but they must somehow turn it around and play
one of their best games of the year.
Dallas is 7-4 and has
won three straight games. They have also won four
out of five games since quarterback Tony Romo
took over the helm. The NFC East conference was
supposed to be the toughest heading into this
season, but with Washington and Philadelphia seemingly
out of the picture, it comes down to these two
teams. Week
13 NFL Point Spread Cowboys -3.5
2) Seattle (+3) at Denver
Seattle (7-4) is coming off
a home win over Green Bay that marked the return
of their quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck
is the key to their playoff run, and he should
improve as his knee gets better and better. Of
course, the Seahawks play in the NFC West, which
means they should be able to win the division
with Coach Mike Holmgren playing quarterback.
Denver is also 7-4, but they
are still smarting from their Thanksgiving night
loss at Kansas City. Coach Mike Shanahan has seen
enough of quarterback Jake Plummer, and he is
making the switch to Jay Cutler. Cutler has all
the physical tools, although it is rare for a
playoff caliber team to make a switch at this
point in the year, especially to a rookie.
Week 13 NFL Point Spread Seahawks +3
1) Baltimore (+3) at Cincinnati
This is the second Thursday
night telecast for the NFL Network after they
did the Kansas City and Denver game last week.
As a lot of readers know, the NFL Network is not
available on all cable packages, and that means
a lot of fans are shut out from this game. You
can be sure the commissioner’s office is
flooded with emails, and perhaps this will force
all cable providers to start carrying it.
As for the game itself,
Baltimore is 9-2 and in control in the AFC North.
They are also fighting for a first round bye in
the playoffs. Cincinnati (6-5) has won two straight
games, and seems to be hitting their stride as
they fight for a playoff berth. These teams met
on November 5th in Baltimore, with the Ravens
winning, 26-20. Week
13 NFL Point Spread Ravens +3
